The clouds surrounding the bright full moon hung low in the sky as Charlotte stepped silently through the dark forest. In the distance she could faintly hear the sound of a bird calling - an owl or some other night bird, probably. Rustling in the bushes warned her of animals that might be hiding, because they were scared or maybe even because they were waiting for the right time to kill her. Little did they knew that she could probably take it - whatever it was - down in a heartbeat. She was an Ozi, after all, and though she might look like a mere cross of a human and a wolf, she was stronger and faster than a lot of the creatures in this forest, including whatever humans might live in the outskirts.

As she thought this, her hand instinctively moved toward the pocket of her thin black jacket. Her fingers immediately found the sharp dagger that she used when she felt threatened. She didn't need it right now, even though she liked the reassurance that it was still there. She felt a satisfied grin begin to form on her lips, for once not trying to supress it. She shook her head, knowing she had to get focused. She was here in Symbol - the town where, though also inhabitated by humams, supernatural creatures of any kind roamed the streets, the stores, the restaraunts, the bars, and the graves - to get some money, get a house, and hopefully find the place that she could stay for however long she needed to.

'To get some money' - that was her first dilema. She needed it, though she didn't know how the heck she could get it. She couldn't possibly get a job; she didn't have enough experience. A robbery was always an option, though she liked to use that as a last resort. If she could just find a house, someone gullible, some place to get... frustrated, she flicked her long, black tail, running a hand through her dark hair. Biting her lip, she gave her head a needed shake, knowing that she was getting nowhere. But what else was she supposed to do? Give up?

No. Although that may have been an option at one point, it certainly was drawn out of the equation right now. That same grin appeared on her face as she glanced up at what stood in front of her now that she had emerged from the forest. The large house seemed to stare down at her, though she wasn't afraid. More than anything she was happy, glad that she had maybe found a chance - and she was going to waste no time in taking it.

With just one more heavy sigh, Charlotte was off, making her way quietly towards the bay window that rested in the corner of the house. She took yet another chance of trying to open it, knowing that an alarm might sound at any moment. Thankfully, the house stayed silent, and she was able to slip through onto the tile floor without (hopefully) waking anybody. She could see fairly well in the dark, and she had adopted enough of a wolf's vision to be able to tell that she was in the kitchen right now. With a nod, she carefully made her way out into the hallway, hesitantly entering the living room.

What to do now? There had to be money in here somewhere. As she searched as quietly as she could, she made sure not to stray too far away from the window, since it was the only escape that she knew about. Her fingers tapped the cabinet that she was searching in, trailing the top of it was she walked until - "Oh, crap," she spat, cursing under her breath as she stared down at the figurine that she had accidentally knocked off the shelf. It might not have made much noise, but she didn't know who lived here, and if they were vampires or something, they would have heard it.

    This certainly wasn't good.

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. The clock's endless song played on, as Stella lie awake on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She twitched her wings, itching to get out in the crisp night air and fly. Though, she couldn't quite find the energy to do it. It was an odd situation. Around her there were countless blankets, pillows, and even some make-shift night masks. For Stella, this was going to be just another sleepless night. Another unanswered plea for silence. Just another night alone with her memories. She shivered, and closed her eyes tightly for a moment. Insomnia wouldn't be so bad if she could find something to do with all her spare time.

Unlike Declan- who also had the condition-, Stella wasn't all that into mystery government conspiracy books. A small smile found it's way across her face when she remembered the countless times she and the others in the house had gone looking for him, and he had been found sitting on the roof with another book. Declan was a real character sometimes, she thought, sitting up and resting her head in her hands, stretching her wings out, and deciding to go see if she could talk to him for a while.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Pat, pat, pat, pat, pat, screeeech. Declan grinned as he heard Stella's feet walking down the hallway's uneven wood flooring. She cracked open his door a bit and peeked in with her granite blue eyes. Just like her dad. He thought for a moment, then shook the thought out of his head. He looked back up at her and saw that her lips had curved into a small frown as he cursed in his head; she had known exactly what he was thinking about. He sighed, stood up, and walked over to the door by her. That was one of the most interesting things about Stella, because just by your body language she could usually tell what you were thinking about. She never tried to do anything like that, is just happened. This time she knew that he was thinking about her father. Her abusive father. That she had run away from.

"You were thinking about him again, weren't you?" she asked as he was then standing next to her, raising her face to look at his- Declan was about seven inches taller than her. He sighed as he looked at the pain in her face, and wrapped her in a hug. He had known Stella since they were kids, and she was like a sister to him. He was with her through all the abuse and pain that her father gave her, and he knew how much he hurt her. Finally, he told her that it was too much and the two ran away to this house. They had picked up some other runaways since then, and made the house into a bit of a home for whoever needed it. Declan stood up again, "C'mon, I know what'll cheer you up," He murmured as they both turned around and walked to the kitchen; the normal spot they would go to talk.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
She looked up at him again as they stepped down the stairs. "So, why weren't you reading the latest 'Clancy' tonight?" Stella inquired, because he was extremely excited about reading Dead Or Alive a few days ago. He had mostly hidden in his room or on the roof since he got it, or trying to explain to everyone what was going on. All she ever remembered was something about someone called 'Emir'. Declan just shrugged, keeping his eyes forward. "I'm not sure, I just didn't feel like it. I just felt like... I don't know... restless, almost." He replied, not sure if he had even made much sense.

Though she took it for a reasonable response. "Been there, done that." she responded, making them both laugh- until they heard the sound of something crashing. They both looked at each other, and sprinted forwards toward the kitchen where they stopped dead in their tracks. Someone was standing in their kitchen. Uninvited.

Find the money, find the money... that was all that was going through Charlotte's mind as she moved with quick precision through the house. She knew that she had to find it soon and be out of this house before someone woke up - maybe someone already had. She shook that thought out of her head, also knowing that being stressed out wouldn't help her at all. She bit her lip, silently making her way out of the living room and to the kitchen again so that she would have an escape nearby if she needed one.

She stepped quickly over to the counter where she saw a dark figure - presumably a bag. A purse? She touched it gently, careful to not make any noise as her hands found the zipper. Feeling around, she could tell that the contents were piled high, though thakfully, she didn't have to do much digging; what she needed was right on the top. She grabbed the wallet, stuffing it in the pocket of her jacket and deciding that she could always look through it later.

And now all she needed was to - wait. What was that sound? Charlotte flicked her tail. She swore that she heard a sound. Backing up against the wall, she held her breath, her hands tightly gripping the knife in her pocket. She never wanted to resort to violence, but if that was what she needed to do, she would do it. The footsteps came closer and she narrowed her eyes, freezing in place.

In her head, she was surveying where she had already been in the house, what she had seen, and possible escape routes. Soon enough, two dark figures appeared in the doorway, and she could feel her shoulders tense just slightly. It would take only two steps... she could do it quickly without having them lunge, she assured herself. Well, that was that. Letting out a heavy sigh, she jumped for the window, landing outside the house with a quiet 'thud'. And with that, she started running.

out of character - Why thank you. ^^
AND DUDE OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOUR TEMPLATE.
And uhhh. I don't know. I guess not - I was thinking Charlotte would be kind of like a dhampir, but so we don't rip from the books, she's not really gonna be one.

Everything froze for a split second, when Declan's eyes met with Charlotte's. The world stood still. Her eyes were a deep brown like mahogany wood, and they were radiating nerve and excitement; probably from being caught breaking in and stealing money. Declan didn't seem to mind, though, because through the split second that he saw her- under the feeling of anger because she was stealing, and sorrow that she needed to- something...sparked?

Declan then snapped himself back into reality. She broke into his home, the only thing he had left. Who knows what else she might've done? If he and Stella weren't insomnatic, they might've woken up to an empty house. It wasn't just the only thing he had left, it was the only thing that Richelle, Stella, Jared, and Damien had left too. How could she even think of taking that away from them? He clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes, glaring.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella's heart was racing, who was this? Her eyes darted to Richelle's purse on the table, seeing it was out of place. She clasped her hand to her mouth as she realized that the girl in front of her had stolen the wallet, and maybe other things out of the purse. Richelle would be furious. No, livid. Though, Stella didn't have any time to pass on the anger she felt to the their, because by the time Stella moved her gaze from the purse to where she was formerly standing, no one was there. She swore loudly, sprinting to the window just to be cut off by Declan who was sprinting too, and had just lunged out the window.
KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
As Declan lunged out of the window, the frigid night air hit him like a glacier. It took him a moment to adjust to the temperature and brisk-ness of the air. As he took to his feet, his eyes scanned the area around him for any sign of movement. Just a moment later, he saw a bushshake and that was movement enough for him. Declan's legs were moving faster than ever before, the thrill and anticipation of catching her pumped adrenaline through his veins. "Come on, I just want to..." What was he going to do when he caught her? "Talk." That was what he would do, right?

won't write you out of this one
The steady beat of her footsteps, the sound of her feet hitting the forest floor, was comforting to Charlotte. She didn't know why and she didn't question it, though over time she had realized that having constants in life - even little ones like this - made her feel slightly safer. She shook her head, blocking out all thoughts that didn't have to do with getting out of her. As she dodged trees and kept an eye out for anything that might get in her way, she mentally planned out where she would go. She could always climb one of the trees, though she figured there was no need for that, and she might have a chance of getting out of here before she was followed.

"Screw that," she muttered under her breath the moment she heard more footsteps - she was obviously being followed. But what else could she expect? Surely they wouldn't just sit back and wait while their money was stolen. She carried on, racing as fast as she could. As an Ozi, she was generally faster than the average human, though she had no idea what the person who was following her was, and she wasn't in the mood to find out.

She wasn't able to tell just yet if her pursuer was the girl or the boy, but when she heard the male voice call out after her, she knew for sure. "Come on, I just want to... talk," he said. Charlotte rolled her eyes, scoffing. There was no that was true. She was almost sure that when - if - he caught up with her, he would probably take to stabbing her with a knife rather than simply having a chat. "Sure you do!" she called sarcastically back to him.

She stopped short, hearing a rustle in the bushes. Normally she would have simply ignored the sound, but the feeling in the pit of her stomach told her that it was nothing nice. She could have run away and stay safe... for some reason, she didn't feel that was right. Biting her lip, she glanced back at where she had come from. Slowly she could make out a figure appearing, and though he might want to kill her right now, she knew it wasn't right to let whatever creature was hiding in here kill him.

The creature slowly emerged from the shadows of the large tree behind him. To Charlotte, it looked like a blood demon - a more evil relative of the vampire. Although it was larger than her, she could probably fight it off, or if she was lucky, kill it. It had already seen her, though it's eyes were on the approaching figure of the guy who was chasing her. She knew that if she took off right now, the blood demon probably wouldn't care, and instead would attack him.

She couldn't let that happen. Yes, she had tried to rob the guy, but he had never done anything necessarily wrong to her. If anything, she owed him, after breaking in and everything. It would be the right thing to do, and plus - killing off this blood demon would mean there would be one less in the forest, which could benefit her later.

Her hands found the knife in her pocket and without a second thought, she lunged for the demon. He turned on her quickly, causing the knife to miss where she had originally wanted it to go. However, it still managed a sharp cut to his forehead, which made him stagger back in surprise. Before she had a chance to attack again, he was on her, throwing punches here and there. A few of them reached her, and with an angry roar, he threw her against the nearest tree.

Refusing to be beaten, she made her way quickly back to him, the knife still in her hand. She could feel the blood running down her back from when she hit the tree, but she ignored it, focusing on the here and the now. Narrowing her eyes, she ran for him, catching him unexpected as she pinned him against a tree. He struggled, but she kept him down, holding the knife to his throat. She pressed it against his neck, not enough to kill, though apparently enough to make him give up.

"Leave," she hissed into his ear, loosening her grip and pulling away slowly. She watched as he disappeared into the dark forest. A slight smirk spread across her lips - she might not have killed him like she had wanted to, but she was satisfied with at least getting him away -, though it didn't last for long. Soon enough, the pain hit her, and with a groan, she backed up to the same tree that he had thrown her against. She could still feel the blood, she realized with a frown. She closed her eyes, sliding down so that now she was leaning on the tree. She rubbed her aching shoulder, cursing quietly.

The sound of commotion downstairs shot Damian out of bed. He didn't even have bother pulling on a shirt. He opened his door, running out into the hallway and down the stairs. "Stella!" he called out; she was the first thng that came to mind, what he worried about most. His shoulders relaxed just slightly as he saw her figure in the kitcen. He raced up to her, facing her as he grabbed her arms and squeezed them tightly.

"What happened? Are you okay?" he asked desperately, looking around to see the bay window by the kitchen opened. He turned back to her, the hairs on the back of his next still raised. He was curious, but more than that he was worried.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Thisis11

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Even while in pursuit of Charlotte, Declan had to admire the forest. He had sort of grown up there, and spent some of his best and worst memories by the same trees. They were like old photographs of the times they had spent there. As he ran, he noticed out of the corner of his eye the tree that Damien and Stella had carved their initials into. He smiled, remembering the time before they were together when he teased her about finding the tree. That was three years ago.

The moonlight bounced off the slender birch trees as he dodged around them, giving Declan just enough light to see a trail Charlotte was leaving behind. "Sure you do!" She called out after his attempt at discussing the matter. What does she think this is, some sort of game? He thought with an annoyed look on his face. This wasn't a game, this was real. This was her stealing his money, and him taking it back. So, he though, I guess it is a bit of a game. A game that I will win.

Suddenly, he heard her stop. Though his first instinct was to run ahead and get her while she was standing still, something made him stop. He couldn't see her because of the shadows, but he could hear and see her breathe. The only two sounds in the forest that he could hear were their breathes. And it sounded like she was cut short, like something caught her off guard. It sounded...afraid? No. It didn't sound afraid, he wasn't quite sure what it sounded like, but it was lucky for him that he stopped when he did.

Another sound came to his ear at that moment, and that was the sound of a rustling bush. Something was moving up ahead of him, though he couldn't quite make out what it was. All the sudden, he could. Now, it was his breathe that cut short. In front of him was a blood demon, and this night was looking to be one of his worst experiences in the forest.

Declan was a vampire. A bit of a royal one, at that, though his family was basically outcast from royalty when his father married his mother; a human. They had married and had Declan, though his mother didn't live through giving birth to him. Since he was only half vampire, Declan was... different from the other vampires. He had fangs, could run very fast, was very strong, but he didn't need blood like they did. Oh, and he wasn't immortal.

Because he wasn't 'pure', nearly the whole vampire civilization outcast Declan and his father. His father hated himself for what he did so much, that he ended up killing himself. Just so you know, when a vampire commits suicide, it's not pretty. So Declan was sent to an orphanage at age 10 until he ran away with Stella when he was 13.

So, meeting a blood demon in the middle of the forest at night while chasing someone who broke into your house and stole some of your money is not the best situation for him to be in. Blood demons overall hate vampires, vampires hate blood demons. But since Declan's family was so famous for the 'scandal' his father caused, even the blood demons knew about it. At least, this particular blood demon did.

Declan was caught between a rock and a hard place. A disgustingly happy smirk crossed his face as the demon stepped closer to him. He looked to Charlotte, expecting her to have ran for the hills at this opportunity. He couldn't see her, so he figured that she had. She hadn't. She was actually busy jumping at the demon, with her knife.

He couldn't believe his eyes as he stood there, frozen stiff. Charlotte was attacking the blood demon like a pack of wolves and- winning? Yes she certainly was winning, even after being thrown at a tree and hit like a punching bag by a furious demon. Every muscle in Declan's body screamed for him to help, but he couldn't. He was frozen stiff, feeling like he couldn't even breathe.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella looked out the window, and watched as Declan bravely ran after the trespasser. Though once he ran into the woods, she couldn't see even a trace of him anymore. "Dangit," she said, clenching her teeth. He had always liked to play the hero, but usually came out of the whole thing with some scars to show for it.

She turned her head to the side as someone came down the stairs- still being on edge from the break in- and nearly thinking that it was the girl again. Though, when she heard her name called out, she instantly knew it was Damien. Everything seemed to melt around her as he ran up to her (shirtless. ^^) and grabbed her arms. "What happened? Are you okay?" he asked, concerned. The gesture almost made her smile. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Someone broke in," she gestured to Richelle's purse, "Stole Richelle's wallet, and then jumped out the window when Declan and I caught her," Stella sighed, "And then Declan when chasing after her... into the woods."

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Declan watched in awe as the beast ran away, scared off by someone half it's size. Though, the fight had taken it's toll on the girl, because he could now see blood soaking the back of her shirt. Declan ran up to her, all anger was gone. He didn't know if he should apologize for not helping, or yell at her for stealing, or just leave her there. No, he knew he couldn't leave her there. He just didn't know what to say to her. With a grimacing smile, he held out his hand, "That was... amazing. Need some help?"

What the heck was wrong with her? She asked herself that question over and over again as she gritted her teeth. In a way, she was mad. She was furious at herself for getting rid of the blood demon when she could have just ran away and be fine right now. She would probably be out of the forest already and if the demon had killed the boy, that meant she wouldn't have to worry about being followed anymore. She shook her head at the thought - how could she be so selfish? It wouldn't have been right to just sit back and watch while she let him be murdered.

But in a way, she was angry at the boy too, because he was the reason she did it in the first place. She didn't necessarily regret it, though she couldn't really admit she was all that happy about it, either. Soon enough, she gave up on fighting with herself, because the pain became too much and demanded attention.

She opened her eyes, though they were narrowed and staring at the ground. The grass behind her was slightly soggy because of the blood. She let go of her shoulder, her breaths becoming louder and faster each time she inhaled. This shouldn't have hurt so badly. More horrible things had been done to her in the past and she had been fine - well, not quite fine, just not in as bad condition as she was right now. After all, all he had done was shove her into a tree. That wasn't much compared to what normally happened in a fight.

Maybe she felt like this because she was so tired, nervous, something... shaking her head, she cleared her mind of all those thoughts. All she wanted to do now was get some help and -

It was at that moment that she remembered the boy was still here. He came running over to her, and for a second she tensed, afraid that he would hurt her or yell at her or something. She was relieved when all he ended up doing was say, "That was... amazing. Need some help?" Maybe she should have acknowledged the compliment, but she ignored it. She did pay attention to his question, though - did she need help?

Well duh. Of course she did. The real question was, did she want it from him? She almost considered getting up while ignoring the pain and maybe punching him in the face out of anger, then running away. She would have liked to, but where we she have gotten help then? With a sigh, she reluctantly opened her to reply.

Not even a sound came out before her whole world went black.

    » » »

Damian felt a grin creep across his face as he realized that Stella was safe. He knew that he should have been mad because of the robbery - well, he was - and soon enough, the full effect took place. He furrowed his eyebrows, frowning. So someone had broken in? He shivered at the thought, turning away from her for a second so she wouldn't see the pained look that crossed his face. He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. This wasn't good.

"And then Declan when chasing after her... into the woods," Stella continued. He turned back to her as she said this. He clenched his fists, angry in a way but also worrying about Declan. "Why the heck would he do that?" he questioned her, gritting his teeth. "He's gonna get hurt, and we can't lose him. He should have just let her go."

For a moment, he stood there, his hand outstretched towards the delusional girl that had just robbed him. Well, not him, but she still broke into his house. He quietly waited for her to respond, feeling the chill of the night come over him now that he wasn't chasing anyone, or standing in front of a blood demon. A small shiver made the hair on the back of his neck stand up as a wolf howled eerily in the distance.

Finally, he looked back to her to distract himself from imagining more than he needed to. She looked like- he hated to think like this- an utter mess. Her hair was shaken up and matted to her back at the end from dirt and her wounded back. The girl's face matched the same suit, slightly bruised from the punches the demon had thrown, and she looked increasingly pale as well.

All the sudden, he wondered if she would going to be okay. For a second, he almost dismissed those thoughts as she opened her mouth to speak. The same thoughts came back a second later as her eyes closed and her body became limp. She had passed out.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella mimicked Damien's facial expressions. She smiled lightly, glad he wasn't too shaken up about the whole thing. She was trying to think positively- because if she didn't she might've done the same as Declan, or started freaking out. Unfortunately, Damien wasn't feeling too positive at the moment. Her smile dropped.

"Why the heck would he do that?" Stella's eyes were pleading for him to calm down, "I don't know, you know how he i-" She was cut off as Damien kept ranting. "He's gonna get hurt, and we can't lose him. He should have just let her go." Stella walked over and took hold of his arms like he had done to her a minute ago. "Look, Damien, you know how he gets. I couldn't stop him if I wanted to, but everything will be okay"

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Declan leaned down instantly, checking her pulse. "Okay...She's not dead," He murmured in relief, nearly assuming the worst as soon as she closed her eyes. He thought or a moment, about what to do. He already had made up his mind, but Declan had to go over all the other options. He could leave her in the forest... no. He could take her to the poli- no. He could- no, he most definitely wouldn't do that. In the end, he sighed and pulled off his shirt, sliding it under her near her back to stop the bleeding. He then slipped his arms under her, gently lifting her up.

He stood up, and began slowly trudging back to the house. It wasn't that she was too heavy for him to lift- she wasn't, and he was a vampire- it was that he didn't want to risk hurting her any more. His shirt had stopped the bleeding, but she still had taken all those punches from the demon and probably some sort of whiplash from hitting the tree. Though, Declan didn't have much of a clue; he wasn't a doctor. Relief flooded him as the house came in view, and he could spot Stella and Damien from the kitchen window.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella gasped as she looked out the window behind Damien, seeing Declan walk out of the forest... holding the girl. Her eyes grew bigger as she walked to the backdoor and swung it open, motioning for Damien to come after her as she ran up to Declan. "What the heck happened out there? Huh?" She questioned, eyeing his bloody t-shirt that he was holding under her.

Within a few minutes, Charlotte was awake. Not fully concious yet, but enough to have the strength to blink her eyes open, taking in her surroundings. Everything hit her at that moment - what had happened, why it had happened, where she was, and what the heck she was doing here. She frowned, her eyerows furrowing as she realized she was being carried. She looked up to see who her arms were wrapped around, and - oh, crap.

Her lips slowly twitching at the edge to turn into a scowl, she groaned; not out of pain, but out of realization. Her arms were wrapped around this boy's waist, and he was carrying her like he was some kind of hero or something. Her head was leaning on his - might I mention shirtless? - chest. She bit her lip. Part of her wanted to release her arms, though the other part wanted to keep holding on for dear life. Plus, who knew how much it would hurt if she tried moving?

She finally gave up on fighting with herself, instead closing her eyes again and thinking. Yes, she was still mad at this boy, but... did she really have a reason to be? No, not really, she finally decided. She couldn't dwell on it too much, though, because soon enough, she could feel his footsteps slowing and she opened her eyes to see where he was talking her. She hadn't really even considered where they were going -

Great. In front of them stood the large house that she had tried to rob. Her hands reached for her pocket, and she felt the wallet still there. Hey, she had succeeded at stealing something, but did that really matter right now? She ignored the thought, feeling the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. He was taking her to the house, which meant that... the other girl would be there, and maybe even more people.

She shivered. She didn't like to face people, especially after she had, well, robbed them. She wanted to struggle but decided it would hurt too much, so she simply stayed still, nervous as ever. Her breathing had slowed down to it's original pace, she realized, which was good. She could feel the blood soaking the shirt beneath her and instantly felt bad about that. Heck, she felt bad about all of it - not that she regretted any of it, though.

Charlotte let out a sigh as he walked through the back door. She heard the voice of the girl and cringed as she spoke. "What the heck happened out there? Huh?" she asked furiously. I pratically saved your friend's life, she thought to herself with a roll of her eyes, though she decided to keep her mouth shut.

Then it hit her - she had to get out of here. Her hands found the boy's chest and she tried to push him away, narrowing her eyes. "Put me down," she demanded, her voice still quiet. She wasn't going to wait for him to let her go, she decided. Instead, she struggled against his grip, finally landing on the ground. She staggered back, knowing there was no way she could outrun them, let alone make it to the door before they could catch her.

It didn't matter - she made a run for the door anyway.

Damian sighed, looking defeated and worn out from his rant. "Look, Damien, you know how he gets. I couldn't stop him if I wanted to, but everything will be okay," Stella assured him. He shook his head, not quite believing her. He didn't want to lose one of his best friends, and who could be sure that he wouldn't? That thief just might be able to kill him, which wouldn't really turn out all that great for the rest of them.

He didn't feel like telling her this, though, and soon enough he realized he didn't even have the chance. Declan had entered through the back door, carrying a girl in his arms. He ran over, passing a glance to Stella. "Is... is this the thief?" he asked whoever was going to answer. She certainly didn't look like much of a threat, all bloody and everything.

Declan sighed as Stella came running out of the house towards him. "What the heck happened out there? Huh?" she asked, a determined look on her face that let him know that he would have to tell her. Now. "Er... blood demon," He only needed to speak two words for her eyes to grow two times as big as they were before.

"A blood demon? In the woods?" Declan could tell that Stella was quite shocked at the recent turn of events, as she took a fleeting glance at the woods behind anxious eyes. Blood demons were absolute monsters, and they meant trouble. Lots of it. One that close to the house, right after a break in, was not excellent news.

Declan stepped into the house with a warm rush of air. Even though it was summer, in Symbol it still got freezing cold at night. So, luckily, the house had a good heating system. Though the cooling system wasn't the best, causing the guys to roam around shirtless most of the summer and the girls to go flying. Richelle didn't have wings like Stella, but she was a Rizaki, which meant she could change into a bird.

Damien was right there as he walked in, and approached the three quickly. "Is... is this the thief?" he asked, not looking particularly scared. Probably because of all the blood, and the fact that she wasn't conscience. "Yeah," Answered Declan shortly. He would've said more, if she hadn't started to move.

Declan looked down at the girl as she regained consciousness, and began pushing herself away from him. "Put me down," she nearly hissed, scrambling out of his arms and catching him by surprise until she hit the ground. The thief lost no time in standing up and stepping away from them.

He opened his mouth to say something- still rather surprised she had regained consciousness so fast- but was cut off as she made a mad dash for the door. Instantly, Declan did the same thing. He wasn't going to let her go, not in that condition, not after she had violated their home, not after she had stolen from them, and not after everything he had gone through to get it back.

As they both hit the door, he slammed it shut, grabbing her by the arms. "Look, how about a deal," he said, staring into her eyes. He hoped he wasn't insulting her in any way with his next statement, "I know what it's like to be in your position, and I truthfully want to help. You give back the wallet, and we'll help you get better, alright?" The moment might have been very nice, if the next part hadn't happened. "Well isn't that romantic?

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finals11
Everyone looked up, to see Richelle standing on the stairs. Her face looked sullen and tired, with the slightest hint of black bags under her eyes. Even though she'd just woken up, her light brown hair still retained it's wave. It came to around her ribs, because she had been growing it out for a few years.

Her eyes pierced through the room in an annoyed glare as she stared at the girl- walking down the last few steps and stepped over towards the two. "I'll take that, thanks" She said, her voice dripping with venom as she slipped her wallet from the girls pocket, then stepped over near Damien and Stella. "Oh, but don't mind me, please go on," She said, sitting on the counter and dangling her legs over the edge, her arms crossed. "I don't like being woken up in the middle of the night for nothing, so put on a show, thief girl."

Well. That plan apparently proved fruitless. Before she could even make it to the door, the boy, whose name she still didn't know, was there to stop her. He grabbed her arms and though she hated it, she didn't struggle, figuring she should save up her strength for something more important. She didn't just sit back and take it all in, though - she made sure to show him the most unfriendly face she could manage as he spoke.

"Look, how about a deal," he began. "I know what it's like to be in your position, and I truthfully want to help. You give back the wallet, and we'll help you get better, alright?" She almost scoffed at this, finding his reasoning ridiculous. How could he know what it was like? Had he ever spent countless nights on the streets, begging for food, stealing for money, killing for survival, not knowing if you would live through the next day? She opened her mouth to let out all her feelings to him, though she was rudely interrupted.

Charlotte looked up with curiousity at the girl who had spoken. She narrowed her eyes to match the girl's gaze, though she couldn't help but be amazed at the quick motion in which the girl had gotten down the stairs, retrieved her wallet, and then took a seat on the counter. Her hands moved to her pocket before she realized it was too late - the girl had already gotten it back and was apparently satisfied. Wasn't that just great?

By the look of it, there were far more people living in this house than the two people she had originally seen, the two that had caught her. Her eyes traveled from face to face, her expression becoming more determind with each one. She needed to get out of here and she would do it this time. Her eyes locked with the girl's, hanging on to her very last words: "I don't like being woken up in the middle of the night for nothing, so put on a show, thief girl."

If it was a show that she wanted, it was a show that she was gonna get. Charlotte turned back to the boy, her heart racing as she stepped closer to him. She let a small smirk cross her lips as she innocently traced her fingers along his bare chest. Her expression was flirtatious as she stood on her tiptoes, cupping her hands around his ear as she whispered to him, "I'll agree to a deal." She stopped, raising an eyebrow as she paused. "Just not that one. You've got your wallet back, so I have a better idea."

She stepped away from him, the smirk disappearing from her face. It was replaced by a scowl and narrowed eyes as she spoke again, her voice rasied. "How about since I practically saved your freakin' life," she began. "You let me go!" She shouted those last words and without even thinking, she threw a punch at his chin. It might not have been that strong, considering her current condition, but if it did end up hitting him, it would hopefully hurt.

After all, he had asked for it, right?

    » » »

Jared flew down the stairs to see what the cause of all this commotion was. "Guys, what the heck happened -" He stopped at the bottom of the stairs, examining the room. Damian and Stella were together - of course - in the kitchen, watching what was going on. Richelle was there, too, and she looked furious. And there was Declan... but who the heck was the girl standing in front of him?

out of character - ^^ I'll remember that.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Declan gritted his teeth as Richelle spoke. Right now really wasn't a good time for her to get involved with the issue, because usually anything she got involved in ended badly. Very badly. She blamed it on her having 'explosive' ideas that people just weren't able to grasp, to put it poetically. Her explosive idea of the moment was to annoy the thief into doing something.

Declan has already seen what she could do, and wasn't quite in the mood, though. Maybe Richelle wanted to get into a fight with her or something- that was another thing she was known for. Fights. Rizaki are, by nature, good fighters because they know all different sorts of moves from being different animals. Richelle had taken it to the next level, though, and gotten herself a black belt in karate just for kicks.

"Richelle, shut. up." He spat out through gritted teeth, but not turning his head to look at her so he could keep his eyes on the girl. He expected her to freak out somehow, maybe hit him or something, and then go attack Richelle. He'd only known her for what... an hour? A half hour? He hadn't been keeping track.

Though, he did know that this girl wasn't really one to sit back and take something like that. He knew she would do something, probably involving pain, to either he or Richelle, soon. Declan cringed inside, mentally putting another mark on the list of times Richelle had somehow gotten him into something he most definately didn't even want to remember.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finals11
Richelle was good at keeping calm, cool, and collected. She rarely let anyone know that she wasn't completely in control of the situation. Though, when she had eaves-dropped on Stella and Damien's conversation from the stairs, it was hard for her to not run out into the forest with Declan and maul the thief. It wasn't the thought of losing the moeny she had in her wallet that frightened her- she didn't have much, anyways.- it was the thought of losing the other things she had in it.

Fingering through her wallet, Richelle put on her best poker face. She made note of two tens, one 'i o u' from a guy she used to date, and a credit card with all the money she had earned from her job last summer. Then, she slowly slipped her fingers into a small, hard to see pocket on the other side of the wallet. A grin spread across her face as she felt the framilier feel of a tattered old photo. The girl drew it out, and smiled, the picture being of her parents and her. It was the only one she had, and her most precious possession.

She slipped it back in, and closed up the wallet, sighing a breathe of relief as Jared entered the room. She didn't even bother looking up to greet him. "Oh, hey Jared. That girl" she motioned over to Declan and the thief. "Broke in and stole my wallet, but-" She was cut off from explaining, when she heard a smack and looked up to see the girl's fist in contact with Declan's face. Richelle was angry again.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Instead of an outraged scream, a flirtatious smile crossed the girl's face, confusing Declan. What the heck...? he thought as she stepped closer to him, and gently played with her fingers on his chest. What was going on? As soon as Declan thought he had girls figured out, this happened. Was she happy now? Was she trying to get him to like her? He looked over to Stella to see if she knew what was happening. He guessed that she most certainly did, because her lips were pursed together and a scowl was on her face. She might've known what the girl was doing, but Declan had no idea.

She then stood on her toes and leaned near his ear, whispering something. "I'll agree to a deal." She paused, and he was intrigued. "Just not that one. You've got your wallet back, so I have a better idea." She then stepped back again, and her face didn't look so friendly this time. "How about since I practically saved your freakin' life, you let me go!" That was when her fist connected with Declan's face, and he wasn't so happy anymore either.

His head swung back a bit, surprised by the force in which she had hit him with. Their facial expressions now matched. "Alright, you want to leave? FINE." He yelled at her, swinging open the door and clenching his jaw in disgust. "Get out of my sight," he breathed, narrowing his eyes in pure anger- because no good deed goes unpunished.

won't write you out of this one

We will be victorious, said Bellamy once upon a time. And apparently, it was true - the punch had worked. A small smirk played on her lips as she watched him stagger back. Maybe she wasn't so weak after all. [b["Well, I guess all that they say about girls not having the strength to hurt a boy isn't true,"[/b] she mused, raising her eyebrows as she spoke. "I mean, that looks like it must have had some effect," she continued, eyeing the place where she had punched him.

Her smile faltered just slightly - emphasis on slightly; she tried never to purposefully show that something someone did had affected her - as he shouted at her. "Alright, you want to leave? FINE." In a way, she should have been glad he had given in, and she was. She could go now; wasn't that what she wanted? She shrugged, an emotionless expression on her face as she did. She would leave and forget them all, acting like none of this had ever happened.

But it had. She had been defeated - well, kind of. They had caught her breaking in, she was stupid enough to kill a blood demon to save her pursuer's life... yeah, she had been pretty weak.

Charlotte grimaced as he spoke his next words, this time barely audible. "Get out of my sight," he told her stiffly as he exhaled. For some strange reason that she couldn't quite grasp, she felt almost hurt by this. She should have already learned to deal with it, but no - she just had to have that sensitive spot, right?

With a quick shake of her head, she looked back up at him, scowling. She felt almost... guilty? Kind of. Regretful? Yeah. Sorry? Maybe. Not like she was going to tell him any of that, though. Instead, she simply nodded her head, blinking once or twice before turning around and heading out the door. She closed it gently behind her, relieved to be able to breathe in fresh air once again.

And on the bright side, at least she didn't arrested. Right?

    » » »

Damian watched the girl go, a frown on his face. He could feel his shoulders relaxing as she left, relieved to have their house free of the theif. Even so... he couldn't help feeling sorry for her. Not only sorry, but regretful. Yes, she had punched Declan, which made him angry, and Declan had a reason for wanting her to leave. But he knew exactly how she felt; he had lived on the streets for almost a year before finding Stella. He knew what it was like, and he would have done the same thing.

With a sigh, he turned to Stella, raising his eyebrows. "I'll be right back," he told her softly with a nod. He bit his lip, assuring himself that this was what he had to do. He took a deep breath, heading towards the back door and twisting the handle. He pulled it open, stepping outside and shivering. He started walking, a satisfied grin crossing his face when he saw her figure still in the distance.

"Wait up!" Damian called out after her. He caught up with her quickly, putting a hand on her shoulder and shaking her lightly. He let out a quiet gasp as he saw - and felt - the blood still soaking her back, thogh he ignored it. He needed to concentrate right now.

See, he was a moonstepper. He was like a werewolf, being able to turn into a canine-like creature and everything, but there was something special about the species: compulsion. He wasn't the best at using it yet, although he knew that he'd be able to accomplish what he wanted to do now. As she turned around, he locked eyes with her, clenching his fists while he tried to work his, well, magic.

    » » »

Charlotte gritted her teeth when she started hearing footsteps in the distance. Why couldn't they just leave her alone? She turned around, reading to start shouting or something, but couldn't bring herself to do it. Standing in front of her was the one guy that she had only seen a glimpse of. She frowned, wondering what the heck he wanted. She opened her mouth to ask him this exact question, but closed it when he started to speak.

"You're hurt," he said quietly in a voice that was barely audible. She rubbed her shoulder again, knowing that he was right. "And you should let us help you get bettter." For a moment, she was going to protest, finding this the stupidest idea ever. Though a few seconds after the words left his lips, she couldn't help but agree. "I... I... okay, yeah, sure," she whispered, her eyes wide as she took his hand.

    » » »

And with that, he led her back to the house. Declan might be mad that he brought her back, but she was extremely obedient right now, under her control, and he thought he might appreciate that.

out of character - Bwahahahaha. xD I think this post pretty much answers that question.

Stella couldn't repress a small gasp as the girl's fist hit Declan's face, making his head swing back some from the force. She couldn't completely hear what the girl said first, but caught the last part of her sentence which was "I mean, that looks like it must have had some effect,". Stella figured that she was talking about the punch she had landed on Declan's face. Stella wanted to punch her.

Then, Declan spoke. "Alright, you want to leave? FINE." He began, yelling, then lowered his voice to a whisper. "Get out of my sight," he breathed, even though everyone could hear him because of the utter silence that had enveloped the rest of the room.

You could practically feel the tension in the air as Declan opened the door, and everyone froze. Even he thief did, probably surprised that her action had worked. Stella couldn't say that she wasn't surprised either, because for Declan to just give up after all he'd done seemed un-like him. Though, she had to admit that the thought of the girl leaving did relieve her, because she'd never be able to sleep with someone like that in her house. Well, she never slept much at all, but now it would be impossible.

She found herself reaching for Damien's hand for comfort, feeling a bit on-edge from everything that had happened. She squeezed it gently, her hand being the only part of her moving. Finally, after what seemed like minutes which had only been seconds, the girl walked out the door.

Declan didn't know if he should sigh with relief, or chase after her when the girl walked outside and closed the door. She did it so calmly, it just added to the huge mix of emotions and questions in his head that she had left him with. He wanted to badly to just go sit on the roof and think about everything, but he knew he couldn't. He knew he would have to comfort everyone and explain everything that had happened, or else they would be just as confused as he was...right?

Though, before she had walked out the door, Declan caught her eye and saw something odd. For a split second, she almost looked almost- hurt. Could she have been? Declan knit his brows together after she left, wondering if she was just as confused as he was. Though he highly doubted it, she was the one robbing, not being robbed. She was the one fighting, not being fought for. Or at least, he thought so.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finals11
Another moment of tense stillness took over the room as the door closed. The silence nearly rung in her ears, because there was no yelling, no fighting, no commotion, just silence. Her eyes surveyed the room, looking at everyone's emotions. Most everyone was shocked, sleepy, or confused looking. All except for Declan, who looked down-right furious. She heard him murmur something about the roof, and then stalk up the stairs. Then the room was pristinely quiet again. That is, until Damien spoke up.

He didn't actually speak up, but in a room full of non-humans a whisper is practically normal volume. "I'll be right back," he told Stella, and then turned and walked out the same door that the thief had went through. Richelle's face showed her confusion as she looked at Stella, who had the same expression. Then it hit her; he was going to use compulsion.

Richelle swore quietly under her breathe, running her hand through her hair and standing up. Great, just great, she thought, realizing what he was going to do and why he was going to do it. He was a monstepper, and she was half moonstepper. So, Richelle knew all about compulsion, which is the ability for a moonstepper to basically hypnotize someone into doing whatever they want. She couldn't do it very well, her being half werewolf as well, but she knew that he was pretty darn good at compulsion. And that is what worried her.

A moment later, just as she had predicted, Damien and the girl walked right back in through the door. Charming. Richelle narrowed her eyes, tucked her wallet back into her pocket and walked up to Damien, leaned towards his ear and whispering "I am going to kill you," Angrily, then looking at the thief. "Having second thoughts, are we?" She asked, pursing her lips together in a scowl.

Damian couldn't hide the smirk that was carefully making it's way across his face as Richelle whispered angrily to him, "I am going to kill you." He shrugged innocently, letting out a nervous - yet quiet - chuckle as he lead the girl over to the large chair that rested in between the television and the couch. She sat down slowly, mindlessly agreeing to his silent orders.

He opened his mouth to ask her a question, though was interrupted by Richelle speaking again, this time to the girl. ""Having second thoughts, are we?" He instantly felt a pang of guilt for the theif at his friend's harsh words. He didn't tell her directly to say anything, though he did send a calming feeling to her with compulsion.

"I... I guess so," she softly. He frowned; although he knew he had to do this, he couldn't help but grimace as he noticed her vulnerability at the moment. Her face wore a glazed look and she seemed not necessarily tired, but worn out.

He shrugged the feeling off, instead asking her, "What's your name?" He waited patiently for the answer, willing her to give them one in first place. In the same quiet voice she had used to respond to Richelle, she said simply, "Charlotte." He nodded, accepting this answer and then moving on. "You're going to let me take care of you, okay?" He asked it as a question, but it came off more as an order. She moved her head up and down slowly, agreeing. "Now, where does it hurt?" Again, more of a command than a question. She pointed to her shoulder, closing her eyes as she did.

He bit his lip, his hands following her finger. It didn't look too bad, nothing that she couldn't just sleep off - the real problem was probably from her head being hit or something. Either way, he wanted to clean up the blood, so he shifted his gaze to Stella. "Get me a few towels, some wet and some dry," he told her, turning back to Charlotte.

"And Jared," he called out, not even bothering to turn around this time. "Go get Declan. I want him down here before we make any descisions or anything," he instructed, satisfied as he Jared's footsteps going up the stairs. He wanted this girl to sleep here for the night; he wouldn't feel right if they just let her go. And hopefully, Declan would agree to that.

    » » »

Jared opened the door to his room, walking towards the balcony. He stepped outside, unfurling his wings and gliding up to the roof. Like Stella, he had wings, and he used them to land right beside Declan. "Hey, um, she's back," he muttered, staring down at his friend. He didn't feel like explaining the whole thing. "But she's all under control now," he added with a nod. "Damian wants you down there. Right now."

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Declan's feet fell heavy on the old wooden steps as he trudged up the stairs, emotionally exhausted. The wood creaked and groaned each time his foot landed on a new plank, as though they were trying to voice their opinions. Finally, all he heard was silence. As he stood at the top of the staircase running his hand through his hair, he knew one thing for sure; he had absolutely no idea what had just happened.

Sure, he knew what had happened, but he wasn't sure how he felt about it all. Declan simply couldn't make up his mind, and it made him feel slightly numb. The cool night breeze hit him in the face again as he swung his legs out of his window, stepping on the midnight black rooftop that seemed to melt into the night. The only difference between the sky and the roof was that the sky had stars, Declan thought as he stared up at the constellations (I couldn't resist. xD) above him, sighing, and thinking about taking up astrology next year.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella felt... uncomfortable as DamiAn slipped out of the house, and returned with the thief. She couldn't help but bite her lip and stare with concerned eyes as he walked her over to a chair and had her sit down. She wasn't quite sure of what he was doing, though she believed it was probably some sort of Rizaki hypnotism or something. He had attempted to explain it to her once, but she didn't fully understand or remember it.

The thing that made her uncomfortable was that he was so eager to go help her, a thief that he didn't even know that had been nothing but bad to him. Why did he want to keep here there? Of course, she automatically assumed the worst, and realized that the girl was very attractive. That couldn't be why- right? Stella shuddered.

"Get me a few towels, some wet and some dry," DamiAn said, glancing at Stella and then back to the girl. She knew that he was trying to help her, and trying to take charge since Declan had left, but she couldn't help but wince at his urgent tone- feeling like he was treating her a little sharply. What with the other thoughts of him and- oh, her name was Charlotte-, this didn't really help ease her worries.

Stella then shook her head, not knowing how she even thought like that. She trusted DamiAn, and knew he would never do anything like that to her. She couldn't believe herself, thinking that he had all the sudden become completely unfaithful to her and started chasing after random hot chicks. No, he wasn't like that, and she knew it. Stella stood up a bit straighter, nodded, and turned to get the towels.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finals11
Richelle crossed her arms and followed DamiAn into the other room as he had her sit down on the chair. Noticing that all her clothes were really bloody still, she opened her mouth to give him a hard time about it, but then stopped when she looked at Charlottes eyes. Something just made her feel- no, it couldn't be- sorry? Was she really feeling sorry for her?
KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Declan had just closed his eyes, feeling peaceful and in-control of the situation again when he heard the rush of air and the sound of someone landing on the roof beside him. Opening his eyes, he saw Jared standing to the left of him. He sighed, sat up, and listened to what he had to say. "Hey, um, she's back," Declan cringed his eyes after he heard him mutter those words, now knowing that the situation must not be under control. Until Jared spoke again. "But she's all under control now," Declan blinked, not believing. "Damian wants you down there. Right now."

He stared back out over the town again, looking at the tranquil night sky. Did he really need to go back down there? Did he really want to feel trapped in the situation again? No, he most certainly did not. Declan's eyes ached, looking at Jared's huge wings. Sometimes he thought that his friend didn't know how lucky he was. He could fly away, far far away, right on into the sky. Declan wanted to do that so badly, but he knew he couldn't. That would be running away, and giving up. Declan wasn't one to do either one of those things, so with a sigh and a nod, he stood up and made his way back downstairs.

"DamiAn, what happened?" He asked, talking into the room and staring at the girl with a blank expression. The same numb-ness that he had felt earlier had come back, making him feel hollow and tired again. As he looked at the girl, he could tell something wasn't right. Her eyes almost had a glazed look on them, and her face looked vulnerable and blank. Was this the same girl that had fought off a blood demon just an hour ago?

I have this under control, Damian had to keep reassuring himself. He had this under control, right? He had never really practiced compulsion all that much, since he really didn't have anyone to practice it on, so he hoped that it was strong enough right now to at least keep the girl slightly dazed and willing to do what he told her to. And maybe if she obeyed all his orders, which hopefully wouldn't be too hard to make her too, they could get her to agree to stay here for a few nights until she got better. He wasn't sure if the rest of them wanted her to stay, though. Well, they would have to deal with it; didn't they have any sympathy for this girl? Didn't they remember that they were all, at one point, in the same state?

He shook his head, clearing his mind of thoughts like that. He needed to convince them to let her stay, yeah, but first things first; he needed to convince the girl to want to stay. Maybe if he could use compulsion to get her to stay with them for a few nights, after it wore off, she would want to stay there anyway because she would have seen how much better it was than living on the streets. Well, he hoped that was what would happen. If she refused and tried to escape like before... he couldn't say he would go after her. Even though he felt bad for her and wanted to help her, the safety of his friends came first.

Damian looked up suddenly - he had been startled - as Stella handed him the towels, interrupting his thoughts. "Thanks, Stel," he said to her, giving her an assuring smile. The look in her eyes said both 'everything will be okay and it's all gonna be over soon enough' and 'I love you more than you could ever imagine'. And it was true - well, the second one was. He wasn't so sure that it would be over soon, but if they were lucky, it was all going to be okay.

After a moment, he turned back to Charlotte, the towels in his hand. He set them on the table beside them, only keeping one of the wet ones. He frowned as he saw the blood again, though there wasn't that much there. He rubbed the towel gently on her neck, her shoulder, and her upper back. He pressed harder; he was no doctor, but he knew that first, he needed to stop the bleeding.

He glanced up as Declan walked into the room. He could feel his shoulders relaxing - he was relieved that someone else was here to take control. "Damian, what happened?" Declan asked him. He shrugged with one shoulder, still bent over Charlotte. "She's staying here for the night," he told Declan, not answering his question. He could possibly use complulsion on Declan... no, he would never do that to a friend, he decided, turning back to the girl. He raised his eyebrows when he noticed something he hadn't seen before; this girl had the tail of what looked like a wolf, a black one. That meant she must have been an Ozi, right? Which explained her fighting off the blood demon...

"Stand up," Damian told the girl, still curious. He had always heard about Ozis and their strength, though he had never seen one in person. She nodded slowly, doing as he told her. She stumbled a little bit, but he kept a tight grip on her arm, careful not to hurt her shoulder. He held his gaze on her tail, fascinated. "You never mentioned she was an Ozi," he commented, his eyes traveling over to Declan.

    » » »

Charlotte felt... vulnerable, to say the least. She felt like she wanted to protest every time this 'Damian' boy told her to do something, but within a few seconds, his words sounded so pure, so true, so understandable. Not that she wanted to do everything that he told her to, but it felt like she had no choice. She looked up at him with wide eyes; she couldn't figure out what exactly was making her think this way or act this way, but right now, he looked practically like a god.

Apologize. She heard the voice in her head and immediately knew it was coming from Damian. She hesitated for a moment, though she knew she wouldn't be able to resist. She turned to the boy who had just walked in, the boy she had punched, the boy whose life she had saved. "I... I'm sorry," she said quietly, her voice weak. Even though she had been forced to say that, she knew that she truly was sorry.

Her gaze snapped to the girl that was obviously this Damian boy's girlfriend. Hm. She could have some fun, couldn't she? Well, last time she had wanted to just 'have some fun' - which had only been a few minutes ago - it had turned out to not be so fun, but whatever, she would try anyway. Her gaze fixed on Stella, she stepped closer to Damian, her arms wrapping around his as she leaned against him. It wasn't in a flirtatious way, more in an almost vulnerable way, but hopefully this girl wouldn't know the difference.

out of character - I know, me too. >.<
Oh my gosh, I love how you capitalized the A in Damian's name every time. you finally got it right! applause

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella bit her lip as she Damien turned his attention from Charlotte back to her. For a moment she felt like she was interrupting him, because his eyes read that he was slightly startled from her. She decided it was because he was deep in thought, when a smile appeared on his face.

That one look made her melt inside again, as he said "Thanks, Stel," and gave her a look that reassured her that she was his one-and-only, always way, and always would be. Suddenly nothing mattered at all. Stella's eyes lit up as she smiled and nodded. The smallest things could make her happy; very happy.

Another thing that made her happy was when Damien took the towels from her hand, because she still felt the same shock of electricity whenever he touched her. Even though was just from the passing of a towel. She was simple like that.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finals11
Richelle rubbed her neck as she looked at Damian helping Charlotte. Just the sight of her bloody back was enough to make her gag. She was completely fine violence- she loved it, in fact. That scared away a lot of people when she was younger.- but the slightest bit of gore was where she stepped out.

"I'll be right back," She half-mumbled to no one in particular, covering her mouth with her hand and making her out of the room. Richelle didn't want to risk getting sick- that would be the icing on the cake. Not in a good way, of course. In a very bad way.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald13
Sliding his hands into his pockets, Declan just watched Damian. He nodded lightly as Damian put pressure on the gash on her back, glad that it looked like Damian didn't know much more about healing than he knew. Practically the only thing he knew was that you usually want to put pressure on the wound. It doesn't matter what it is, you put pressure on it. That was his motto….sometimes.

His eyes looked back up at Damian as he spoke again, since Declan hadn't been paying attention; he was rather mesmerized by Charlotte's wound. Hey, he's a guy. "She's staying here for the night," He recalled him saying, and looked down while thinking about it. All he managed to say before Damian spoke again was [/b]"Hmmm,"[/b] half-heartedly because he still wasn't sure where he stood in the issue.

Declan noticed that Damian seemed to be looking at Charlotte oddly, and then said "Stand up," to her. When she stood up, he could notice it too. Though she was mostly facing the doorway where he stood, he could see the end of a black tail flicking behind her. His eyes then darted up to her head, where under ruffled hair he could see ears. "You never mentioned she was an Ozi,"

He just shrugged. "I didn't notice it, I guess, now about her staying-" he started, but was cut off as Charlotte began to speak. He wouldn't have even noticed it if the room weren't so quiet, because the girl basically mumbled it. "I… I'm sorry," Declan was caught off guard. What? He asked himself, raising his eyebrows. Was she real sorry?

Turning around, he ran his hand through his hair. What could he do? Leave her out in the cold after Damian already brought her in and she seemed so- well, sincere? Shaking his head, he turned back around, about to ask Damian to talk to him privately when he saw what Charlotte was doing.

KEROSENE - forget your high society Finald12
Stella's happy face then dissolved into a bitter emotion as Charlotte stepped next to Damian and threw her arms around him. Two things entered her mind. The first one was fairly mature, but involved the words what, get, off, her, my, now, and her favorite selection of swear words. The second thought was basically the same thing, but that one involved her favorite selection of swear words and a few that weren't her favorites.

"Damian, come talk to me, now," choirs of angels rang in her ears as Declan spoke, and she stepped next to Charlotte, taking her arms off him and saying to Damian, "Hun, I'll watch her," And a sickly sweet smile to Charlotte. Her eyes stayed on the girl when she saw in the background Richelle walking back into the room. This is going to be fun…

» » » Biting his lip as Charlotte threw her arms around him, Damian froze, stiffening at the sides. His gaze hesitantly traveled down to look at her, shaking his head slowly. He knew that this girl needed the support, first of all. Maybe leaning on him could have worked a lot better, but she was desperate, afraid, confused, and for now, he wouldn't complain. He let out a heavy sigh, glancing up at Stella for a moment and locking eyes with her before immediately looking away. He didn't like seeing the anger, the possible jealousy in her gaze. He frowned, closing his eyes for a second before opening them reluctantly, still staring down at the theif wrapped around him. He didn't necessarily like it, though he didn't have a problem with letting her do it; he knew what it was like to be controlled by someone using compulsion.

By using compulsion, you could make somebody think certain thoughts. You could even control them, though that was for people with a stronger sense of the magic, like him. He knew that he hadn't willed Charlotte to act like this towards him, but since he had made her do other things, the magic altered the relationship between the two. He had been under someone else's compulsion before, and it wasn't pretty. Not only had she almost convinced him to break up with Stella, join their clan, and run away from the house, but he had treated her as if she were a goddess, like he would do anything to help her and would easily, without a second thought, throw himself in front of a train or take a bullet for her. And even after he broke free and she had stopped commanding him to do things, the feeling was still there for a short while afterwards. He hated her, and yet he would give anything to be near her. He couldn't help it. And for all he knew, Charlotte might just be following him around like a puppy dog for the next few days.

Making the mistake of looking at Stella again, he swallowed, instantly feeling horrible. They had been having some rocky occurances in their relationship lately, and this certainly wasn't helping. They had been having a few disagreements already, and if she was going to get mad about this, then it would be in both of their best interest to stop it soon enough. He couldn't risk losing Stella; he was in love with her and he had never felt the same thing for anyone before. He might have called it love at first sight, though he had never believed in that all that stuff. But it was as if as soon as he saw her, he knew that he wanted to be with her. He knew that he could do anything from her, and now, he would walk to the ends of the earth if she needed him to. Their love was that strong, and anything that was even barely a threat to it he didn't like. He inhaled deeply, nodding his head at Stella.

"Damian, come talk to me, now," Declan told him suddenly. He broke his gaze from Stella and shifted it over to him, raising an eyebrow as he slowly began prying Charlotte's arms away from him. His shoulders relaxed slightly - he was relieved to have an excuse to get out of this situation - though he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck rising. He had to admit that he was afraid of what Declan had to say. He was afraid that he would put up a fight, disagree with Charlotte staying, something like that. He shrugged with one shoulder, not quite sure what to expect as he handed the theif over to his girlfriend. "I love you," he whispered into her ear quickly, knowing that sometimes he needed the reassurance. Or, he thought, maybe both of them did. He flashed a small grin for a split second and then headed off to follow Declan into the hallway by the stairs.

"Listen, Declan," he began, leaning his head against the wall, exhausted. Unlike Stella and Declan, he hated being woken up at night, especially when he couldn't go right back to sleep. He was beginning to wonder if he would even sleep at all tonight. He sighed, continuing as he faced his friend. "Charlotte is staying here whether you like it or not. I know that you need to approve all the big descisions made in this house, but for not, just let this one go. I mean, she's sorry - trust me, that wasn't just my compulsion that made her apologize. She feels bad about it and she's willng to be given another chance without screwing up this time." He clenched his fists, not really sure why exactly he was defending Char, though he wasn't about to question it, either. "Declan, think about it. I'm sure you've been in almost the exact same position at one point in your life or another." He cocked his head slightly to the side, challenging him.

» » » When Damian turned around and tore his gaze from her, it felt to Charlotte like a WWE wrestler heavily throwing himself upon her - possibly gruesome explanation, but hey, it was true. She felt shocked, to say the least. Maybe a little bit startled too, and certainly surprised. She immediately brought her hand to her head, rubbing her forehead and letting out a soft groan. Not only did her muscles ache, but now her head was hurting like heck. She lowered her gaze, feeling rather confused. She still felt like she would do anything for Damian, though she no longer felt obliged to do it. She had barely studied the effects of compulsion, but she knew, however, that she might be feeling like this for a while even after he quit using it on her. She scowled at this realization, shaking her head slowly and letting out a heavy breath.

Feeling defeated and weak as the other girl - Stella was her name, right? - held her up, Charlotte considered maybe squirming out and making a run for the door, but then she remembered that the last time she had tried to run away was certainly fail-worthy and she definitely didn't want to attempt it again. With a heavy sigh, her eyes traveled around the room and whatever else she could see of the house, taking in every small detail and letting the feeling of home - something she had never felt before - sink in. Near the back door was the one girl whose wallet she had tried to steal. In the hallway, Damian and the other guy who had originally caught her were talking, barely visible. (She could hear them, though, and would have to remind herself to thank Damian later for being on her side). Coming down the stairs hesitantly was Jared, the guy who she had only caught a glimpse of before but had managed to get his name. She shifted her gaze to Stella, frowning. "Could I, uh, wash up or something?" she questioned her quietly, even though she was pretty sure that Damian had already done a good job of it himself. She was still feeling dirty, though, and she knew that a nice, hot bath would go a long way to make a pained person feel better.

"I say you should let her." The voice made her jump, which then made her muscles and back ache even more. She turned around - well, as much as she could, with Stella's grip on her. She saw Jared standing there, his wings folded against his back. She lifted her eyebrows, curious as to how he had gotten from the stairs to over here so silently and quickly, but then figured it had something to do with whatever supernatural creature he was. Figured. She pursed her lips, realizing that he was supporting her. She was about to turn to Stella to see her answer, though she stopped when she saw a glimpse of how Jared was looking at Richelle. It confused her, she realized. He was staring at her with some sort of - no, it wasn't quite love. Admiration? Respect? Possibly. Or maybe... she tilted her head to the side, wondering. Maybe it was a sense of protection. She was sure that Jared wanted to keep all the people in this room safe, but with Richelle it seemed different. He would go to any length to fulfill her needs, she realized. And with that, he was gone.

» » » "Sorry to break it to you, Declan," Jared began, sliding in next to him and folding his arms across his chest. "But I'm gonna have to side with Damian here." He nudged him gently, shrugging. "I mean, come on, man, we all know what it feels like to be in that girl's position. We all needed it just as much as her. Maybe we didn't go that far to actually get what we needed, though that doesn't matter. She's one of us, and we should help her out." He paused, inhaling deeply and glancing at Declan with a smirk on his face. "You want her to stay here, I just know it," he added, chuckling quietly as he teased him.

Declan couldn't keep himself from cringing as Charlotte grabbed Damian. Well, she didn't grab him, but it was mighty close. He tapped his foot silently on the hardwood flooring and glanced up at the ceiling. He could picture what was going on in front of him so clearly with his imagination that he didn't need to actually look. Stella was a lover, not a fighter, but she sure did love to fight once in a while, and he knew what could pull her strings. Charlotte's little move, though under compulsion, would most likely do it for her. He was right.

As much as he loved to admire the popcorn ceiling of the roof above him, Declan couldn't help but slowly lower his eyes and glance in front of him. At that second her felt like shoving Charlotte out of the house forever. For a split second he looked into Stella's eyes and saw the fear and anger towards the thief, he thought he heard something crack a bit. Though, he wasn't sure if it was his, Damian's, or Stella's heart that was cracking.

From having been through so much, Stella was quite sensitive about having so much. A makeshift family that loved her, Damian- who loved her even more-, freedom, ect. Sometimes, it felt to her like it was all just a beautiful dream and that she would wake up one day back into her old life. So when any one of those things was threatened to be taken away from her, it made her a bit uneasy.

Even though Stella could easily relate to Charlotte, she refused. The thought of mercy entered her head once in a while, but she daintily brushed it away without even looking. If she started to feel sad for her, then she would never be able to stop. She'd constantly see her through eyes of pity- and that was exactly what Charlotte wanted to happen. Of course, it wasn't, but as we all know, Stella wasn't in the mood for thinking about it anymore. As she walked over and nudged Damian away, she couldn't help but purse her lips and look at Charlotte out of the dormer of her eyes.

"I love you," Damian muttered into her ear as he gave the drugged thief to Stella. She cursed under her breathe lightly as he walked away. How come he always knew exactly what she was thinking and how to make her melt on the spot? He was so darn impossible sometimes. But then again, she couldn't deny the fluttering sound her heart made whenever he spoke those three words, so Stella wasn't really in any shape to complain about how much he loved her. No one really ever is.

Declan sighed and turned around, now facing the other way down the hallway as Damian walked over. He opened his mouth to start the conversation, but Damian beat him to it. "Listen, Declan," He started his pitch while leaning against the wall. Declan hadn't really noticed before, but he looked beat. The vampire could se the bags under his eyes from exhaustion as he spoke. "Charlotte is staying here whether you like it or not. I know that you need to approve all the big decisions made in this house, but for not, just let this one go. I mean, she's sorry - trust me, that wasn't just my compulsion that made her apologize. She feels bad about it and she's willing to be given another chance without screwing up this time." For a moment Declan cocked his head to the side, thinking over what he'd said. It was like his whole body had fallen asleep and been taken hostage by that tingling sensation, and now he was finally awakened from it and thinking straight again.

"Declan, think about it. I'm sure you've been in almost the exact same position at one point in your life or another." Damian preached on, defending Charlotte with a fire that Declan hadn't anticipated a second ago whilst analyzing how tired he looked. Finally Damian stopped talking and Declan, while enjoying the quiet, began to reconsider. He already knew what he was going to say, he just needed to make sure he still looked like he was on top.

Richelle walked out of the bathroom, silently thanking her lucky stars she had kept her lunch- or, well, dinner- and snuck back into the room. She didn't quite feel like being the center of attention just yet, so she merely stood in the background observing everyone and making snide comments in her head. Like a venus fly trap wallflower. Only the best for Richelle.

She was beginning to consider sneaking back up to her room while the Damian/Stella/Charlotte "drama" unfolded. Charlotte said something about washing up and was two steps away when she heard another voice chime in with the rest. "I say you should let her." Richelle stopped in mid-step and turned on her heel back around, peeking around the corner to see Jared there. She'd seen him practically every day of her life, but barely at all that night, so his voice was a bit odd to her. She stepped into the room a bit more, now standing a few yards behind Stella as she glanced at Jared. He glanced back at her, and she shrugged, realizing that he was wanting her to help with Charlotte. She narrowed her eyes, mouthed 'you owe me' to him, then approached Charlotte as he snuck back to where the other guys were, as quietly as he had appeared.

"Whatever, I'll help her," She said mostly to Stella as she now stood in the middle of the room, her hand on Stella's shoulder. "I'll show you the bathroom and soap and stuff, but I am not getting anywhere near anything bloody or gore-ridden," Richelle pulled Stella away from Charlotte gently, waving her arm out towards the stairs to the bathroom.

Declan had opened his mouth to answer Damian when yet again he was interrupted. Though this time, it was by Jared. "Sorry to break it to you, Declan," He began, sneaking out of the shadows to stand near Damian. "I mean, come on, man, we all know what it feels like to be in that girl's position. We all needed it just as much as her. Maybe we didn't go that far to actually get what we needed, though that doesn't matter. She's one of us, and we should help her out." Damian barely spoke this time before he was interrupted, again. "Guys, you're acting like I'm-" Then Jared spoke. "You want her to stay here, I just know it," Jared chuckled. "ALRIGHT! She can stay! You're all acting like I'm some heartless rock," He said, slightly annoyed as he pushed past them to the girls. When he came out he saw that Stella was now just standing there, and richelle was now keeping her up and noticing to something. He wasn't sure what it was. "Er, you can stay," He said, losing his moxy again when he looked at her. Why did the most inconvenient people give you heart string pulling looks at the worst times?
