Browser?
So what browser do you use for your daily internet needs?
The ones I know of existing are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera. There's probably others too, but I think those are the main five right now.
I'm using Google Chrome as I type this up, and I have to admit I like it a good lot. The reason I abandoned it before was because I didn't want to deal with all the coding, but I've become more fond of it now since I've been working with templates. I dunno if it'll be better or worse for my template work, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Oh, and this is freakishly fast.
Firefox comes in second for me, the only complaint I have for Firefox is the occasional speed issues. Chrome hasn't given me any of those issues as of yet.
Safari and Opera I guess would have to fight for these lower slots, but I can't give them a proper argument. I only use Safari on my iTouch, and then Opera is only used on my Wii. But I think Safari comes third, and Opera fourth.
Overall, no matter what you say, Internet Explorer will always be at the bottom. As Ari says, it's TROAE (The Root of All Evil). First off, it's way too slow for my liking. Second, it's plain. And I could go on and on, but I don't feel like it.
So, five minutes ago I got converted to the Chrome side, and I am content. ^^

Re: Browser?
I think I had a poll for this.
Okay, as pretty much EVERYONE on Twig knows, I <3 Google Chrome.
End of story.
Argue, and I'll find a way to prove you wrong. ^^

Re: Browser?
I use Internet Explorer.
It's the one that comes with my laptop, I think (I don't know. I'm just using what my dad got me) and I don't want to download anything else. I'm fine with it being plain, and I can easily access my favorites, and I have a link to my email right at the top of my page. And we had Firefox on our first desktop (the one before the current one) and it was slow. And our computer crash soon after we got it, but my dad says that was like Adobe or something.

Re: Browser?
Prepare to argue.
You can get tons of viruses from IE. It's slow and horrible and web designers can't design amazing designs 'cause they have to design for the freakishly low lowest common denominator. Guess who that is, with horrible CSS support and sucky javascript glitches? Oooh, you guessed it? Our lovely old pal (>.>) IE!
Seriously, you can access your favs way easier on Chrome. And your websites which you frequently visit - every time you open a new tab, it shows your favorite websites on the screen.
Plus, it's just freaking awesome.
Admit it.
(I just read a very... emotional ending to a book. So I'm sorta hyped up right now. If I said anything offensive [sorry, IE... well, not really, 'cause I hate IE] or if I didn't make any sense, sorry. )

Re: Browser?
What about Google Chrome looks weird, Noah? D: I'm not gonna bash you or anything, since you don't give any reason for liking IE in particular, but I like to be curious.

Re: Browser?
Understood. Yeah, it was a little weird to me at first too, but either they updated it or something and I liked it.
And yeah, I know how that feels, half the time I don't like change either, especially if I was content with what was going on beforehand. xP

I've only gotten one virus, and that was because of the website I went on to. And same with my mom, who actually clicks on ads ( ). And, when I open a new tab, IE does show websites that I have recently visited- I just have the list closed, because if something's open and I don't need it it bugs me. And I don't really do any web designing or anything, so that stuff doesn't bug me. Like Noah said, IE has always been the default for my laptop, and all the computers that I have ever used at home, and I'm, more or less, used to it this way.
And we have IE at school, but those computers are really old, and everything about them are slow in general (it takes like 10 minutes to log on, and 5 minutes to open up anything, whether it's the internet or Word).

Re: Browser?
It's between Google Chrome and Safari for me right now.
On the one hand, Chrome is definitely the fastest browser I've ever used, and I love that you can customize it basically however you want. (Or almost so. XD) But there's that little part of me clinging to Safari just because it's familiar . . . I used Chrome for the first time yesterday/today, and it was really a cool experience, but so confusing. I'm used to new tabs being opened at the end of the line of tabs, but in Google Chrome, they open right after whatever tab you clicked them from. After time I got used to it, but it makes things a little less organized for me, which I wasn't really a fan of.
Logically, I suppose Chrome is my real vote, but I still like Safari too. XD

Re: Browser?
Well, you can get more viruses via IE, even if you haven't gotten them yet.
It doesn't matter if you don't do web designing; by using IE you're making the job harder for people who have to design websites. A lot of the time I've actually given up and said "Who cares, I don't care if the website won't display at all in IE," which is sort of stupid, but still... that's me. xD
Also, even if you have a slow computer, Google Chrome is a gazillion times quicker. It may take a bit of getting used to, but it's awesome.
If you're a cool person using Chrome, check out this website. ^^ http://www.chromeexperiments.com/

Re: Browser?
Haha, OMG, so it isn't just an illusion that it's so much faster! Now I really wish it would work on Macs below 10.5. D: Then I could use it on the computer that actually needs the speed.
I wanna check that website out. :O

@Seal: I'm surprised, you're the first Firefox supporter. xD

Re: Browser?
Argh, I just found a nasty little point against it. >.>
On the other browsers I've used, there's a preference you can check, to where if you try to close a window you've been writing in or quit the application when there's multiple windows open, it'll ask you first. So if you accidentally hit the wrong button, instead of losing everything, it asks you first.
Well . . . Chrome doesn't have a setting for that. So now I'm mad.
But oh well, I guess it's okay, really. ^^ Not the end of the world, and all the other cool features pretty much make up for that.
