The Dragon Emporium, Book 5: Seven Years Later

She nodded, "Okie-dokie--" Seeing that Corie looked like she'd been crying again, Heather went over and hugged her gently, "Hey Wormie," she said softly, stepping back a little and looking at her, "You okay?"


Jami grinned, "Three scoops or five? What's that? As many as the guy'll give me in a ginormous cone? Okay!" With a laugh, he hopped out of the truck. For a moment he stood there, arching his back, his features compressing as he grumbled something under his breath.

Noah stood there, walking over to her "HEy there"

"Uncle Jami, don't jump" He said, shaking his head as he slid out "Or do anything to hurt your back more" Alan was very much like his uncle in some ways, but he had many Warren and Tim qualities in him.

Corie cracked a smile, although she knew it'd be useless. She rubbed her eyes with the heel of her hand, sniffling a bit, "Yeah. I'm fine." She lied. She wasn't alright; she felt like she was losing herself in all of the sadness. Like if the old, sarcastic, hot-tempered Corie was slowly slipping away.

And as soon as the two arrived, Jessica was immediately put into a cot bed. The doctor told him solemnly, "You child will be coming in early, but I'm afraid your wife won't be able to have any more children after this.

[Fastforward, now?]

"LET GO OF HER!" Peter growled. "Now!!" He drew himself up to his full height - which wasn't majorly tall, but still tall enough to be threatening - and clenched his fists. "I will punch you in the face if you don't right this second."

Casey didn't feel like puking up her guts right now. She was just sitting around, thinking about everything she'd found out from Mariah and Jessica. (I hope I got the names right. xD) And feeling sorry for herself, because they already had had their kids.

Kevin had been...well....Avoiding Casey. Not to the point where he didn't see her, period, no, but to the point where he'd work a little later than usual and get back later that usual. He was trying to keep out of her way--she seemed moody to him, very moody, and the last thing he wanted to do was set her off.
So today, even though he had off, he'd told her he had to work and just spent the day wandering town. Now he was coming back (with a little necklace just in case she was mad at him). He tip-toed into the room, not knowing whether or not she was in there.

Peter crouched down, offering a hand to Peyton to help her up, but his eyes weren't on her. They were still on Nathan, glaring fiercely. "Get out of here before I smash your face in, scum," he snapped.

As Shadow said, another good reason Casey was feeling sorry for herself was that Kevin was kinda . . . avoiding her. Or maybe it was just her imagination. But her emotions were kinda messed up, so that was what she believed.

She wasn't facing the door, and she wasn't listening. So she didn't realize it at first when Kevin came in. She was just staring out the window with a half thoughtful, half sad expression.

Kevin silently opened the drawer and hid the little box. Then he went to sit down next to Casey, "'Ello, Casey," he said quietly, giving her a weak smile. "How are you?" He leaned over and gave her a light peck on the cheek.

She was surprised at first, then scowled. It was actually kind of a cute scowl, even though she didn't know it. "Where've you been all day?" she muttered.

See, what Kevin needed to learn was that she might be happier if he hadn't avoided her. But he's a guy, so we can't expect very much.

The next day, Peter was pacing around, just outside the doors of the Dragon Emporium. His hands were in his pockets, and his expression was thoughtful.

peyton walked outside the dragon emporium today she was wearing jeans and a sweat shirt she had a hood over her head . she walked outside by the fountain she had her hands in her pocket . she had her hair tyed up . she was very different from yesterday . also she had to black eyes an a cut on her sheek . it was a rainy day the sun was not even out .

{*giggles* Yea! I made you feel warm and fuzzy! *claps hands*}

Kevin grimaced a little, but hugged her anyway. "Working," he replied as he pulled away. "Sorry," he grimaced again, paused, then lightly pressed his lips to the tip of her nose. "How are you?" he asked again, softly, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Don't get me wrong here--Kevin was happy that he was gonna be a Daddy. But he just disliked the moodiness, immensely. And of course, being the brainless guy all guys are, he choose avoiding her a bit instead of trying to get along with the moodiness. Typical.

And yes, Kevin was relieved to know that he wasn't in danger of being covered in puke. He smiled at her, "That's good," he said with a nod. Then he frowned and added in an almost whisper, "...wait, that is a good thing, right?" Not knowing much about pregnancies and babies and all that jazz, almost everything worried Kev at the moment.

peyton looked at him not saying a word ... she didn't feel like getting dress up today after all she felt she had nothing to dress up for normally she would dress up for nathan but there was no point now after all she had no one to look good for ...
