Thomas.
Maturity: High, death.
Fantasy: Average? High? This has never happened to me, nor anyone I know.
[ThOmAs.]
This is goodbye, Daddy, ain't it?
This is the end, right?
I need some wings: I'm gonna take flight.
Does it hurt to die, Daddy?
No, it doesn't, son.
You won't die: everything'll be fine.
Everything is just divine.
You won't die: I promise.
You're lying, Daddy.
I know I'm gonna die
And to Heaven I'll fly
I promise it'll be okay.
No, you will not die.
You're good and strong.
Here, on earth, is where you belong.
You'll live, son.
Daddy, don't be afraid.
I'll always be in your heart, your place.
Daddy, I can see God's face!
I feel so much better.
Son! Look away!
You're going to live, I promise.
No! Don't leave me, Thomas.
I love you so much.
It's alright, I'm okay.
Daddy, I love you, too.
But I gotta go: God said I do.
But I'll always be with you.
Son, please don't go.
Just hold on a little longer.
I promise, son, you'll get stronger.
You'll feel better soon.
Daddy, I feel better now.
I've got to go, it's what I have to do.
But always remember that I love you.
And that I'll be alright.
With his father knelt at the side of the hospital bed,
Thomas softly kissed his daddy's forehead.
And with that final ounce of strength gone,
Thomas knew his job was done.
God needed him up in Heaven now
For staying here, God wouldn't allow.
So Thomas laid back on his bed.
And his father knew that Thomas was dead.
