The moon and sun~

((M&F Sadness, love. High, this is a story of how the eclipse comes to be. It's not true in any way, it's just made off of sort of a love story between the two. Their mostly friends in this, but their meant to be lovers. Credit: To those who drew these pictures.))








The sun and the moon, so long ago,
Came down to the fresh new world,
And as two spirits never met,
They drank from the spirit pool.

"I of darkness never shine, say unto the sun,"
"That in the darkness who doth shine, I'm the only one."
And so the sun looked up from the lake,
And heard the moon's strange voice.
The sun stepped back and shook his head,
"That, oh moon, was not my choice."

The moon drew back and shook her mane,
The stars flew from her hair,
And there they lit up in the sky,
And flashed up in the air.
Her ears drew back in sudden shame,
She dare not lift her head.
Till over drew the sun's sweet face,
And gently touched her head.

"moon, oh moon, of lonely time, who doth call thee friend?"
"Or in thy anger at thy fate, have chased them all who sinned."
"Then at wolf's bane and in this body, I doth make my vow"
"That to the moon for all her pain, this shiny spirit doth bow"
The moon looked up and shook her tail,
She smiled at the sun,
And then the two who never met,
Danced beneath the sky.

"sun oh sun, who makes the moon, smile in her pain,"
"I bow to you, I bow to you, and all my stars you shall gain"
The sun then laughed and shook his head,
Stopping in his dance,
He glanced above and saw the stars,
And gently took a chance.

"moon, oh moon, what do I gain, from nightly things but light"
"I make my own, and brighten day, but I thank thee for thy plight"
And to this day the moon and sun,
Became the greatest pair.
And every so often, when the moon is down,
There comes the wolf and sun of day,
To change to smile from the frown.
And at eclipse, the moon and sun,
Abide and share their pain.
And when the moon, broke in two, and there on earth she cried,
Their the sun was always ready, lion, wolf, side by side.
