Lathron just smiled. Soon he would have power. For years he had manipulated his way up the ranks of power in several different pack but he felt this one was different.

Lathon smiled and laid down not far from her. It wouldn't hurt to rest here for a little bit.

Lathron yawned. It was too bad that if someone went days with out sleep that they get tired he thought wearily. He rested his head on his paws but still denied himself sleep. It would do him no good to have nightmares in front of Alphe.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
Drip. Drop. Pitter. Patter. Boom. Silence.
These were all the sounds that filled the evening sky. The sun was setting in a beautiful gradient of reds and oranges. It was comforting, but it also brought back memories I didn't want. The tears had stopped rolling down the edges of my eyes, but a dull pain still ached in my chest. It was annoying. I wanted to be over this so bad...but I couldn't. There was a promise I made to myself months ago that I would live my life to the fullest. So far, that wasn't happening. And it was all because of her. I wanted to yell out her name and a whole bunch of curses with it...but I couldn't. I wouldn't. It wasn't right.
Afterall, everything was all my fault. If only I had listened to her and just left her alone to sleep everything could be okay.
But no. I didn't want pity or sorrow. I wanted to forget.
Paws sliding from underneath my body, I slumped to the ground with my head in my paws at the edge of the water. It lapped gently at my paws. More memories. More pain. Just all the more reason to beat myself up. I groaned and rolled over onto my side, falling asleep with all these thoughts.
~~
The morning sun hit my eyes like a laser. It was hot and merciless. I scrambled to my paws and immediately headed into the forest. My mind was cloudy, and before I realized it, I had crossed the border into Aneseria's territory. Her scent was so strong and familiar. I wanted to run to it.
But that would show weakness.
Instead, I would just calmly stroll over and...hope she didn't kill me.
Yeah...that may work.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
There was no doubt that Aneseria was highly concerned about her mate. Living so long without one another? That was truly not what mates were for. Even if they somehow could consider it 'breaking up', deep down, she still had a high sense of care for him. She loved him, after all. Why else would she have offered him the high position as Lead Male, also known as her beloved mate? It wasn't just to make someone jealous. No, it would never be for that. She truly loved him.
But she hated to admit it, sometimes. Despite how she'd easily announce her love for Match whom it may concern, she wasn't going to admit that she actually fell in love. But then again, wasn't admitting her love for Match, also admitting that she actually fell in love? Indeed, in was. But as dreadfull as the question might have been, she attempted her best to highly ignore it.
"Match..." she moaned quietly, as she opened her eyes and glanced around her den. No one was seen. After all, it was early in the morning. Not many would be up by now. It was just a little i]too[/i] early, to be up and hunting under high activity. By now, the border patrols were probably barely awake. Then again, the only border patrol she had, was herself. It was indeed the Lead's job to force its way around the border, in hoped that no tresspassers had dare set a single paw in her wonderfull territory of loosely set cast shadows.
With a few sad whimpers, she fully rose to her paws. With carefull and highly balanced pawsteps, she made her way out of her den, and into the clearing. She set a few quick glances to each side, before wandering off into the rest of her pack's territory. Somehow, she hoped that she'd bump into Match, to be able to express but her sincerest of appologies in his favor.
But part of her almost partially hoped that she wouldn't bump into Match. What if he still hated her for her negative thinking? What if he wished by now to tear her to shreds, 'till her blood would go dry? She had no clue what his intentions were, but part of her was insisting that he'd accept the appology, and they could be together once again. After all, she was growing lonely without his presence. The cold winds would get to her, as she wouldn't be able to press herself up against her mate, as she slept wonderfully. She hated the feeling of lonelyness- something she'd never hate before.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
The familiar stench filled the air. Camp was close by.
Yes, it was a stench. Not a pleasant familiar smell. Truthfully, he didn't really like that smell at all. Because it reminded him of her. With a low grunt, he continued. Easily hiding amongst the shadows like they were life long friends. Barely, his brown eyes could be seen. Match also had a long time to practice his stealth. Now, he stepped on no old branches or twigs. Dead silence. Only the occasional tweet of some sort of bird.
He was wondering exactly what he was doing. Was he going to just burst into camp, screaming his head off and asking for a fight? Or would he stick to the darkness, just watching to see what the outcome of his...leaving was. Perhaps...perhaps he did want her back. Could there be a possibility he wanted to say he was wrong? He was, but he also had a sense of pride in his heart too, along with that nasty love emotion. The black and brown mutt stopped in his tracks. A little bit of sunlight streams over his muzzle, and with a heavy, careless sigh, he fell back onto his haunches. Brown eyes were pretty emotionless as they gazed around.
Let them find him. Let them not. He was giving everything and every choice to their paws now.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
A scent began to fill the air as she took her time to breathe it in with no emotion drifting to her face. The curiosity welled up inside of her, leaving her not clueless- but certain that the scent was of no one... but the one she admitted her love for. Had he come back to confess but his sincerest of appologies in her favor? Or was he here to... kill her?
The questions were indeed highly dreadfull, but they were as well the best and far most important questions she even had to ask herself. She was truly unsure what his reaction was to be. Because to tell the truth, Match was rather unpredictable in her opinion. He was hard to read- not at all an open book as she may have found others. Everyone else was as simple to read with their clueless minds.
But Match; her own mate, the Lead Male, was quite hard for her to ever read. His emotions seemed to flicker on and off, playing dirty tricks on her mind. She hated to spit it out right on the spot, but she was actually confused for once. Lost as to what to think about her mate anymore. Did she love him? Did she hated him? Did she want to cover him in adored licks? Did she want to slaughter him ti'll his blood went dry, and his hearts was grasped under her blood-stained paws?
Then it occured to her. She shivered at the thoughts of killing Match, she shivered at the thoughts of crushing his heart as it bore under her strong paws. This was indeed something she had never done before. Usually, she'd be laughing darkly ti'll her voice withered away, and she would be unable to speak for a couple of quickened hours. But now... she was... crying?
Indeed she was. The tears streamed down her face, as the scent slowly drifted off into the distance. Depressed and admitting her defeat, she had then forgotten about the strong pain that lingered through her broken paw. Without Match's care, her paw had not gotten any better over the past time of being away from him for so long. Desperate, she called out for him. "Match!!" she cried loudly, the pain of being alone, easily hinting feircely along the edges of her sadened voice.
Plus, she had a deep secret she intended to tell him. Considering they'd been seperated for a few months by this time, things have happened.. things have changed. And amongst the changes and the changed, was her. Her stomach was of course.. different. Slightly rounded, plump.. oh yes. Match had to be there to cherish the eventual birthing of his... pups.
[[Sorry. Yes. I needed to do that last paragraph. xDD]

[xD]
He didn't have much to think about. After all, he had plenty of time while he was away. Once he had covered everything, his mind drew blank. All the day consisted off now was: eat, sleep, hide, eat, sleep, hide, repeat. He was like a walking zombie. Emotionless and careless. A bit reckless mentally, unstable and bi-polar. If one dog crossed his path, Match might just completely ignore them. But if an hour later there was another in the distance, the brute would waste no time tearing to shreds and enjoying the taste of bitter blood on his tongue.
At first he had hated that smell, that taste, that feeling of guiltiness for taking someone's life. But when he met Aneseria, he had come to realize that here, it was necessary for survival. To defend your pack. It was law. Life. It gave meaning to someone. Now he didn't mind so much. Though, fighting will still never be his favorite thing. Even though most say it is his "gift". More like a curse.
The brown-and-black dog hadn't taken much heed to clean himself, either. His short pelt was filled with dirt, and even had some moss and leaves tangle in it. He smelled slightly, and some cuts on his paws were infected to the point that it hurt to walk. But being a zombie, he hardly felt anything anymore. Except for the wound inside. That, was what kept him going in the state he was.
With ears flicked back against his head, he almost did not here the female's calling. It was like a dream. No. A nightmare. He hated and loved. So realistic. But he still wasn't sure whether to bear his teeth or run and embrace her. So he stayed still on the ground, eyes now unblinking.
A return howl barreled from deep within his chest.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
Her paws trembled slightly at the thought of having called out the unknown, who would then attempt to murder her then and there. But still, was it truly him? Or was it as she now thought- a stranger.. the unknown. Would this stranger claw her eyes out, crush her heart, and rip apart each skin from the bone?
She was somewhat frightened, and there was somehow no doubt about that. With a few shaky pawsteps, she then advanced forward. Where was he? Oh, so many questions, but not a single answer. They were dreadfull, harsh and killer questions. She was almost certain that one of them would kill her on the spot.
But she eventually managed to enter a clearing. She was clearly in Match's view by now, although she had no clue, considering she didn't even know he was here and hiding. So indeed, he was hiding well. Her stomach was indeed slightly plump. It would be one of the things that he'd notice right on the spot, considering she used to be a quite slim wolf.
The tears were streaming down her face, she was highly broken and torn to bit.
[[Ew. Sucky reply I made.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
For a moment he considered it to be a stranger wolf who had called out something else that sounded like his name. The shadows had turned against him and were now playing tricks on his ears. The thought caused his black lips to curl up, revealing long, sharp white teeth.
She could have been a moment later. He would have left. Nothing would have been cleared. Because right at that moment, he was considering leaving for good. But the small sound and smell that she left nearby was too close for comfort.
The brute whirled around with a growl. It was neither vicious nor scared, just surprised and annoyed. "You."

Re: Slippery Bone Island
At the sound of his voice, Aneseria spun to its source. A faint sigh of relief escaped as she was glad to know who it was, exactly. "Match," she murmured quietly, sitting down as she faced him.
So didn't plan on attacking him, not once. Instead, she allowed him to do as he pleased. Whether he was to kill her now and never see the pups, or he was to rush off and be with her again.
She left it all up to him.

Re: Slippery Bone Island
It took him a minute that there was something different about her than there were months ago. Finally, he decided that she looked...larger.
He realized. Puppies?! Oh no. He had never been good with those.
"So, Aneseria," Match began in a calm, yet firm voice-despite the previous realization-, "I'm on your territory, aren't I?"

Aneseria remained calm and quiet, nodding slightly in reply. "Correct. You are. But have you forgotten? This is as well your territory," she replied simply, smirking lightly as she licked herself clean.
Re: Slippery Bone Island
He allowed himself one sign of emotion; a confused, but still mocking raise of an eyebrow. There were tear stains on muzzle, but other than that, she seemed relatively normal.
Match didn't bother to clean his own rats-nest of a pelt.
"What is that supposed to mean? That you haven't given up on me, yet?" How bi-polar. When they fought that time ago, it looked like she wanted to tear him to shreds! Now...now did she want him back?

"When one falls in love, they can not cast away their lover. That is my case." she replied simply, nodding off afterward.
Re: Slippery Bone Island
He dared a few steps towards her. Then stopped. And a couple more until he was standing right in front of her and their noses almost met. Match blinked his slightly softened brown eyes.
"I know. I left on my own. It was the wrong choice."
