Iconator Virus Empty Iconator Virus

I've been having trouble loading a lot of pages on Twig. Why? Well, just look above. Anyone who links to iconator for their avatar is basically blocking me off the pages I visit, because iconator is hosting malicious software.

Google Chrome gives me warnings, but I'm not sure if other browsers do. It's not safe to be viewing threads where you're loading things from iconator, Google Chrome tells me.

So if you see this, and your icon url starts with http://icons.iconator.com or the like, it'd be really nice of you to change it. You can always use the "Upload image from URL" option when you change your avatar. Very Happy

I've gotten those warnings too... :/ Luckily, I don't think anything I have at the moment is from Iconator.
Maybe this is the reason why all my iPod software completely screwed up today? It was only yesterday that I started ignoring the warnings because I couldn't get anywhere.

Virus scan time. :/ Thanks for posting this, Ari!

As far as I'm concerned, Firefox doesn't give warnings, but my antivirus software does. I put "iconator" into Google, and the site had a wonderful red X next to it.
Well, I don't use Iconator anyways, but its still alarming.

I've been seeing that just as much as you have. o_O I'm about to go check my avatar and make sure I've uploaded it from my computer, and not simply linked to it on Iconator.

Like Kiri said, my antivirus software gives warnings, and not my internet. I haven't gotten that warning. I don't go on Iconator a lot, and don't have too many avatars from there. And for my avatars, I just upload them from my computer, so I'll keep that in mind. Smile

Thanks for pointing this out. I've been having the same issues. Even though I think I saved it and then uploaded, I went ahead and changed it to the avatar that Avvy made some time back just to be sure. xD I don't get those warnings nearly as much anymore, but I still do. Like when I go to the Candidates thread, that's where I last had it.

I'm going to test IE in a moment to see if it gives warnings of any sort. nod If I go directly to Iconator it gives me a simple warning, but I don't get any when browsing the Candidates thread when I last saw a warning on Chrome. So yes and no?
Also, if I stand correctly, IE provides Twig's old color scheme and not the new one. It weirded me out for a moment. xD

Shad', if you're checking up on this...

Can you send a site-wide PM telling people to make sure that their avatars and whatnot aren't connected to Iconator? It's actually annoying as heck getting all these constant malware warnings.

Just a suggestion to the people with virus warnings, perhaps disable avatars on your account temporarily? I know that's an option on WI, and I think you can do it here...

I haven't seen that as an option on here, Ratty, but if you could tell me where to find it I'd be very grateful. Smile

All right, so, sorry to anyone who gets the PM and has already taken their own precautions. Literally, the whole site's gonna be getting it. :O Even me! Hahahaha . . . *is having so much fun with the idea already*

Okay, that's enough of that. XD I should go actually send it.
