Re: Wii VS DS
Umm I have both a Wii and a DS and first I'll say that both of them are wonderful game thingies...I forget what they're called.
I like the DS more because you can take it with you to places and pictochat and do cool stuff like that =) Plus the games are a lot cheaper! A game for the Wii costs me $50 while a DS game costs $25 so....=)

Re: Wii VS DS
Wii is fun. But I like DS games a lot more, and they're also less tiring. When I first got Sonic and the Secret Rings, my arms were sore for days with all the remote waggling. The DS doesn't do that. Also a stylus has more fine-tuned controls. I can pick in words and draw very easy with the DS stylus a lot easier than I can point my shaky hand and do the same thing with a Wiimote.
Also the DS has Pokémon games.
Also I just got a new DS game tonight and I'm in love already. ~♪

Re: Wii VS DS
I have a DS and a DSi (I bought both with my money, haha) and although the Wii seems to be cool, it seems to be a novelty that wears off quickly. :3 So I'm going for my good ol' DS.

Re: Wii VS DS
Well, I have an original DS model that I can't really do anything with because nobody within thirty feet of me is going to be in Pictochat, and the only game I play is Mario Kart DS, which I've beaten like ten times, so there's almost no fun in it anymore. I'd buy others, but the ones I want only work for DS Lite and newer. >.> I'm not going to pay a bunch of money to get an upgrade.
So my Wii wins on that count since I can to do more with it, like play G/B Hero games online with others and this voting channel thing and a couple other games.
However, if we're talking DS Lite, DSi or DSi XL, or some new model that's coming out, don't ask me. I don't have enough experience with any of them (except for DSi, but it's only because my sister keeps repeating a bunch of toddler tunes with the microphone thing on there).

Re: Wii VS DS
Hmm...
Thats a hard descision. I'ma be neautral.
Because I LOVE my Wii. It has my Pokemon Ranch and Pokemon Rumble game on there, and I can play Galaga. Gosh, I love Galaga...and the Miis are fun. It has abunch of cool gizmos to go with it as well. And I can play Godzilla...the New Super Mario Bros...Avatar the Last Airbender...
Though, my arms get sore after playing Godzilla xD
But my DS (I have Dinosaur (My name for my original) and my Lite. I play my Light more, considering I lost Dinosaur's charger attatchment Dx) But...it has Pokemon HeartGold/Soul Silver, and I can still play Firered on it, AND I can play Pokemon Black and White when it comes out..though, I'm asking for a DSi for like, Christmas or something, cause it comes with alot of cool additions for the later games I mentioned.
But DS also has Digimon...Battle of the Giants; Dragons...I think those are the only two other DS games I have...Well I have Pokemon Diamond, which I've neglected.
But I tend to play my Wii more, cause its multiplayer, and I have my friends over. I need to start on my DS again. I loves it. Fun for car rides.

Re: Wii VS DS
I've gotta go with DS.
I lurve my ol' DS Lite. [Even though it's got Twilight stickers on it… xP] It's nice, it's small, it's just fun.
With the Wii, it's not portable. You can't bring it on a 15 minute trip to the store. No, whenever you want to take it somewhere, you gotta lug around all the cords, sensors (sp?), remotes, etc.
But with a DS, you can just get a little case that holds the system, games, sowmetimes the cord even, and you can take it where ever.
The DS is also a lot cheaper. The Lite's [used to, at least] go for about $130, and the games go for ~$30-$35. The Wii itself is a few hundered bucks, and the games are about $50.
And, the DS has proper Pokémon games, not Battle Revolution, Ranch (heh, heh), etc.
Although, I have to say I'm not a fan of the new ones (DSi, xL, whatever). What's wrong with the old DS and Lite? I dunno, mine works just fine. -shrug-

Re: Wii VS DS
Also, handhelds are wonderful for the midst of the night... like when I should be, say, sleeping, rather than trying to beat that one boss. *grumbles* Mr. Kitaniji, will you please just die?
Admittedly, the 3DS does look pretty neat, but it's a successor rather than upgrade (despite the extremely similar name).
Unfortunately, my Lite seems like it's going to bite the dust soon... I've dropped it more than a few times, and it's starting to show. I've had to reset the time, date, name, and such two or three times a day for the past half-week or so, and earlier it shut down for no visible reason whatsoever earlier (good battery, hand nowhere near the power switch; all I did was walk across the room). The top screen's been pretty loose for a long time now; it wobbles when I move. That beats my original model, where the top screen completely separated from the rest of the system, save a few wires. Dad tried to fix it but only resulted in it being destroyed. x.x
My brother's, inherited from me last Christmas, seems to be fine... except the touchscreen is screwed up beyond recalibration.
I like to think that the malfunctions only prove that I love the ol' thing past its expiration date.
Have to agree with you there. Why tack on a bunch of shoddy functions that other devices can do much better, while you have a lovely system already? And at the cost of the GBA slot... I don't have a Gameboy Advance, but I still want to play Pokémon Emerald, darn it!swimmergal20+ wrote:Although, I have to say I'm not a fan of the new ones (DSi, xL, whatever).
