Agape
Maturity: Just about Jesus' life
Fantasy: Nothing
This is also another thing I learned at camp about agape and phileo!!!!
Agape
I’ve always wondered,
What it would be like,
To see Jesus on the cross.
To see him give his life for me,
My sin burdened upon his shoulders.
To watch the mocking Pharisees,
Stir up all the crowds.
To see them sentence my living Savior,
To the worst possible death.
Would I be angry?
Would I be mad?
Would I be scared?
Would I be sad?
To see that angel,
Glowing bright.
Who freed the LORD from his grave.
Poor Mary Magdalene,
Searching for Jesus,
Didn’t recognize him,
When they stood face to face.
Neither did the disciples,
Until he helped them fish.
And Peter went a running,
Across the open sea.
Towards Jesus he went,
A screaming for joy the whole way.
And Jesus asked him a couple questions.
“Peter do you agape me?”
“Well I phileo you Jesus.”
“Do you agape me?”
“I phileo you.”
“Do you phileo me?”
“Of course my LORD.”
And then his three denials,
Were there forgotten.
After that the Savior stayed,
For quite some days on Earth,
Before His Father called him home.
Up to heaven Jesus went,
Straight up through the clouds.
And after that the disciples received,
The gift of the Holy Spirit.
And ever since,
That fateful day,
When tongues of flame danced on Peter’s head,
He never, ever, forgot to say,
The word “agape!”

Re: Agape
Nice poem, dream. It says agape and phileo a lot. You write a lot of spiritual poems.
