Frowning Crocodile... - Akeria's Blog [8.24.09]
I'm not in a good mood. Seriously. I feel like... horrible, and it's all my Dad's fault.
I'm going to use this post to rant about him, so if you want to listen, you can, but if you're an easy crier, like me, then I would skip the Frowning Crocodile, and just wait until Smile, Smile, Crocodile tomorrow.
About my father:
Well, I didn't meet him until I was two years old. He was the captain of some cruise out in the Caribbean, so I didn't get to meet him... When he was home, he was home for a week, then away for a year.
Until he lost his job.
On September 11th, 2001, he lost his job. Sucks... Anyway, he was home for three months, and he didn't move off the couch. Yum. Dumb couch potato.
Anyway, he got another job, and off he went to go find breaches in boats, but at least he was home. Now I was seven.
When I was nine, he and my mom got divorced. That wasn't the horrible part. But they got divorced because my dad wanted to move. Now, we live in CT. Not that big a deal to move up the street. No, he wanted to move to Washington state.
Well... They got divorced, and my dad moved.
For five years, I went out to Washington state for three weeks a year... three seperate trips too.
But that stopped last year. I put my foot down, and said that if he wanted to see me, he could come see me. And he didn't. He went, got married, and now I have two sisters... Well, he got divorced again.
Fine. Whatever.
It's been six months since I've talked to him, and almost two years since I've seen my father.
Whatever.
On my birthday, he called. Happy freeking birthday, Siobhan.
He told me he was sorry, and then he never called again.
Well, I'm done.
I'm sorry, but today it finally hit me, I don't have a father. Never have, never will. My mom and I will be all there is. We will work together to support ourselves, because let's face it... a teacher salary, and a cashier at A&P really isn't all that much money... We'll do it. We'll make it.
I can't stand to see him, out there, alone, depressed, but with so much money to spend on boats and planes and all this worthless... CRAP! Seriously! I haven't gotten a birthday present in six years... but my sisters have! You can be freeking sure that they've both got XBox 360s. Yepp.
I'm done now.
Until tomorrow.

I'm sorry about that, Keri. Your dad's a jerk.
