The Dragon Emporium
Book 10
Maturity: Some serious kissing and dating, along with violence
Fantasy: Dragons, spell casting, mythical creatures like mermaids and other stuff
Introduction
You wander aimlessly through a dense and dark forest, having no idea where you are, or where you came from. You are tired, thirsty, and hungry. All you remember is picking up a large egg, and then suddenly being chased after by people who call themselves 'The Dragon Slayers'.
Your skin is dirty, along with your clothes. You have been wandering for at least five days, with nothing to do, and no one to talk to. Some have come running away from their families, others just stumble upon the Dragon Emporium on accident, having no idea what so ever what has been going on around you.
The sky is a ghostly gray color, a signal that it would soon begin to start pouring. You looked up at the sky, and sigh, beginning to look for a decent shelter; a cave, or a tree to hide in. You manage to find a large, crystal cave, that could go on for miles and miles into the darkness. You sigh with relief as you step into the dry cave, sitting down a few yards away from the entrance, but also not too close to the darkness. You set the large egg down beside you, tracing the odd patterns that it had on the shell.
Your hand shies away when a large crack begins to form on the side of the smooth egg, holding your hand over your mouth in shock. What was happening? Soon after, a bird-sized dragon hatchling tumbles out of the crack, shaking off a piece of egg shell that it had over its bright eyes.
A dragon? You think to yourself as you hold your hand out to it timidly, Dragons don't exist, everyone in Baradia knows that. There are only myths about the dragons, and nothing more. But you stop yourself, this was a live hatchling, and it was obviously living and breathing. The hatchling watches your hand curiously, wondering what it was for. Instead of letting you pet it, it snapped at you playfully, letting out a squeak of happiness.
You pull your hand away, a hint of a smile coming across your face. "Feisty," You mutter to yourself, finally managing to brush your hand over the hatchling's smooth head. It squeaked, and then disappeared into the darkness of the cave.
"Hey!" You yell, chasing after it.
Finally, you come upon a lighter part of the crystal cave, the tiny little crystals being its only source of light. The hatchling sneezes, emitting a tiny fire ball onto the ground, lighting up off words on the side of the cave wall.

You slide your finger over the dusty words, sneezing. "The Dragon Emporium..." You translate to yourself.

1.We live in a land called Baradia, or the Baradian Kingdom
2.The King Grith and Queen Zhana have an army ofDragon Slayers, ready to go out and kill you and your dragon. So watch out for Slayers!
3.The Dragon Emporium (DE) is a top secret facility where dragons can take refuge and breed. The eggs laid are given to people who are willing to defy the Royalty and help dragons.
4. In the DE, you sort out dragon eggs by color, gender, and whether they are marine or land dragons.
5.The UDSA (Underground Dragon Smuggler Association) is run by Nevilus Leech, who caused the disappearance of Lea's mother. Also, the UDSA is the organization that smuggles eggs on onto the streets, where they are killed by Royalty or bought by people who don't know better. The slayers are becoming a growing danger, too!

(I lied.)
(I said I would finish the flashback before I came back.)
(Well, I got about half of it done, the most boring part. Hoepfully more will come later)
Nine years ago
Griffen sighed and pushed back his messy shock of curl. He pulled up on the collar of his suit and smoothed down the blood red tie he was wearing. With a deep breath, his closed his eyes and slowly opened them. With one last wistful glance at his past life, he shoved the doors that lead to the DE makeshift courtroom open and slowly stepped inside. Around him, hollow faces stared, some scathing glares, others had looks of admiration on their faces. All of the faces took on a sense of hatred though. Griffen rubbed his arms and focused on the center of the room and the center of the attention. A small pale human was kneeling in a tight red circle, his soot blackened hair hanging into his face. For a moment, Griffen was convinced it was Leon but then the Slayer lifted his head and stared at Griffen with aqua eyes. The expression of hurt and pain in the boy’s eyes caused Griffen to look away quickly. He glanced around the room again and saw more people, Slayers and Students alike glaring at the weak and defenseless boy. Where Slayers should be angry about his imprisonment, instead they were bristling about Igon’s murder. The Students should have been relieved to have the man who had killed one of Enidetra’s main men in their hands but they too looked as if they wanted to wring the kid’s pale neck. Yes, whoever this mysterious Slayer was, he wouldn’t be loved at either place. Griffen continued to look around. Enidetra wasn’t at the trial yet. Griffen smirked. A late Slayer. He’d have to remember to hold that one over the leader’s head for a while. He turned back to the boy in the circle and again Leo’s face flashed in his mind. He shook his head again and strode quickly to the boy.
“What is your name, Slayer?” Griffen spat, his voice sounding like a snake.
The boy looked up dolefully. “I already told you Griffen. But you didn’t believe me.” His eyes closed and he turned away.
Griffen let out a scream of anger. “You’re lying!” He reared back and slapped the boy in the face. It echoed throughout the room with a loud clap and several people cheered. The boy fell backwards, his eyes wide enough for Griffen to see something thin floating above the surface of each eye. He leaned forward to investigate when Enidetra Baradia strode inside the room, his black cape flapping behind him.
“I’m ready to begin, Guackomoli!” Enidetra snapped. He looked over at the Slayer Boy in front of Griffen and chuckled maliciously. “I do remember this Slayer. He had green hair originally, yes?”
Griffen nodded slowly. “Yes…”
“And what color were his eyes?”
Griffen was dumbstruck. “Uh, green I guess.”
Enidetra had a wide grin plastered across his face. “Yes. And now he has aqua eyes. And interesting change don’t you think?”
Griffen was about to respond when Enidetra made a big show of looking at his wrist—despite the fact of it having no watch—and shaking his head. “We must start the trial now Griffen. I have important business to do later.”
Griffen nodded dumbly. “Uh, what is your erm, first question to the um…many color changing Slayer?”
“His name with us is Nole Skatner.” Enidetra said smugly, enjoying the fact that Griffen’s eyes widened considerably. “And my first question to Mister Skatner is, did you murder Igon Prayet?”
Griffen watched in horror. Nole Skatner was Leon’s code name when he said he ‘tried’ out for the Olympics many many years ago. He didn’t try out but really ran away from the Slayers but Griffen figured that was still his fake name.
‘Nole’ straightened up, a large purple bruise rising under his eye. He stared Enidetra right in the eye. “I did in fact, kill Igon Prayet,” he said, his voice crackling a bit. Around him, someone cheered while loud growling noises came from the Slayer section.
Enidetra nodded once. Griffen jumped up, “My turn! Now Slayer, Why did you kill Igon?”
Leon was still staring into Enidetra’s ruthless emerald eyes. “Igon was about to kill my brothers.” He turned to Griffen. “He paralyzed one of mine and I will never forgive myself.”
Griffen gasped. It was Leo in front of him. He stumbled back in shock and hurt. Leo was a Slayer stil!?! But Leon would die before he became a Slayer. What was happening?!?
While Griffen was having a mental battle, Enidetra pulled out a long black sword, almost identical to Leon’s ruby one. He stepped towards Leo, the blade aimed for his heart.
“Leonardo Prayet, you have messed with the Slayers for the last time. Prepare to die!” He lunged at Leon. Leo watched with a fearful expression, his mouth slightly open. Whispers of shock and anger rang though the hall.
Griffen heard a girl scream and looked up to see the girl Slayer practically out of her seat. She threw Griffen a frantic look as if to say ‘Do something!’ . Griffen shrugged at her but even while he was shrugging, he was figuring out a plan. In his left pants pocket, he was feeling a small butter knife heat up. He jammed his hand down his pocket and tugged the glowing knife free. With a burst of white light, it expanded and formed the long silver sword with the emeralds we all know and love. (xD) He jumped in front of Leo and knocked away Enid’s sword.
“This trial is over.” Griffen said in a low voice.
And that’s when all that held the world together broke loose.
