THE DRAGON EMPORIUM
“My Lord! I think we have it!” A rather plump Slayer burst through Enidetra Baradia’s, King of all Slayers, door and shuffled as fast as he could toward the black throne the old man sat upon. He skidded to a stop, bowed quickly and looked back at his leader.
Enidetra sat up in his throne and looked at the man with some interest. “Have what?” he said in a low, cool voice.
The Slayer bobbed his head nervously. “The potion you insisted on! The one that would incapacitate all Students at the Dragon Emporium!” He fumbled around in his huge cloak and pulled out a flask with a wide rounded bottom. Inside was a silvery liquid with blue streaks. Both men looked oddly at it. The Slayer squealed suddenly and his hand started to tremor.
“What is it?” Enidetra demanded, narrowing his eyes. “It is not done yet?”
The man swallowed. “It isn’t supposed to look like this. It’s supposed to be all bluish silver.”
Enidetra watched the potion, still not extremely interested. By accident, the man’s shaking caused the chemicals inside to mix. But instead of becoming the bluish silver the potion’s master had insisted it would be, the liquid inside the flask glowed deep red. Red like blood, the old man noted, feeling slightly wary of this potion.
“This isn’t supposed to happen!” the chemist cried out, eyes growing wide with fear. “This isn’t supposed to happen!”
Enidetra glared at him. “Then what you must do is fix the problem!” he told the man through gritted teeth. He rolled his eyes towards the ceiling. What he would do for real Slayers—not ones that tried to use magic tricks to get power. He sighed, becoming stuck in his own memories. The past battle he had had with the Students finally drew the line. Not only did he lose all of his right hand men, but the Students actually attacked the Slayers. Enidetra suppressed a growl. It was the first time in centuries that the Students had shown anything of a backbone and at the same time, Enidetra had no support from his troops. Something would have to be done to permanently rid the land of Baradia of Students and the Dragon Emporium forever.
“I’ll have to start over!” blubbered the Slayer in front of Enidetra. The leader blinked. Real Slayers left and didn’t complain. He narrowed his eyes. Real Slayers don’t ‘blubber’ either. “And what do I do with the chemical waste?”
Enidetra surged to his feet, temper barely controlled. “Start over if you have too. I don’t care! Just get me that potion to destroy the Dragon Emporium and its blasted students!” He shouted at the Slayer. “And to get rid of it, I don’t care about that either. Drink it! You say it’s not ready so it shouldn’t harm you!”
The Slayer frowned. “But sir, it might give me indigestion. I have a sensitive stomach. And I’m all out of ingredients.”
Slayers don’t complain about ‘indigestion’ either! Enidetra seethed. He grasped the hilt of his sword, trying to push his anger down. The older man struggled for a moment then looked at the trembling chemist.
“What does the potion do again? It if had worked?” Enidetra asked in an eerily calm voice.
The man smiled smugly. “It wipes out all dragons in the hundred mile radius.” He grinned at Enidetra. “No more dragons at the Dragon Emporium.”
Enidetra froze, face suddenly pale. Then the leader’s face became almost black with fury. “You idiot! We are in the hundred mile vicinity! Do you want all of our dragons killed too?” That would mean Henry’s time spell would be called off and the Slayers would perish! “We can’t have you finish that poison now! Because of your foolishness and negligence, you almost destroyed the Slayer line!”
Enidetra drew out his sword and quickly stabbed the now crying Slayer in the ribs. The man screamed and fell backwards, container falling out of his hands. Enidetra watched with horror as the glass exploded across the floor.
“No!” he shouted, stepping back. The moment the potion reached the floor, it changed from its red color to a silvery purple. Suddenly the potion burned brighter, now looking as if it could catch on fire. Enidetra felt his eye brows singe and his cheeks seemed unbearably warm. Just then, a terrible tremor shook the Slayer Castle. Cries of alarm sounded from around the Slayer headquarters. Enidetra swayed on his feet as another quake brought him to his knees. All the glass in his windows broke out, covering him with shards of what looked like polished obsidian. The potion slowly burned a hole through the floor and dripped down onto the level below them. More anguished cries came from the castle. Enidetra gasped as he suddenly felt dizzy. One more vibration rattled through the castle—this one the most violent—and Enidetra was sure he heard part of his castle split. He staggered to his feet then collapsed. Even as he drifted into unconsciousness, things were still spinning.
A student sat by the DE graveyard, tears trickling down her dirty face. Her older brother was killed by the Slayers in the most recent battle. The teenager still remembered when she first came to the DE as a young girl, and the Slayers were just starting to cause trouble. Even then her brother had always been ready to help the guard the school for his little sis. The student wiped away another tear. Why can’t things go back to how they used to be? She stood up to leave when a sudden earthquake shook her. She screamed and toppled over. Another vibration rattled her teeth and caused several of the tombstones to crack. The girl curled into a ball and held her hands over her neck. She felt a wave of dizziness sweep over her and when the third horrible earth tremor hit her, she was happily unconscious.Enidetra sat up in his throne and looked at the man with some interest. “Have what?” he said in a low, cool voice.

The girl woke up and rubbed sleep out of her eyes. She sat up. Where am I? She looked down at her hands and gasped. They were small again—the hands she had when she was just a little girl. She tried to think what had just happened. Something about an earthquake and a graveyard… The little girl shrugged, assuming it was just a dream. She heard a knock on her door and looked up. Her older brother had snuck through the door, holding a tray of eggs with birthday cake scrambled in. He smiled at her.
“Happy eighth birthday, Janie” He told the girl, putting the tray by the girl’s night table.
Suddenly the girl burst into tears. She lunged towards her brother, giving him a big hug and wet kiss on the cheek She didn’t know why she did that but she assumed it had something to with the weird dream she had. I was older… the girl realized. And my brother was…dead? She shook her head, glad it was a dream. She smiled at her brother and dug into her breakfast treat. At least I hope it was a dream.

- Derrick sat, or more so, kneeled, in a room that was dark, and wretched of the smell of mildew and death. Long, thick chains fell from the ceiling and were cuffed to his wrist, pulling his arms apart in an almost Y shape.
His head hung slump, looking down at what clothing he had left; a pair of ragged old shorts that were frayed at the edges. His bare back showed many whip marks, and not just the ones from his childhood, new scars.
He had been captured again.
In the corner of the room, a faint dripping could be heared.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment, but Derrick's head tilted up, exposing dark green eyes under the shag of orange-brown hair. He roared, shaking back and forth violently, the chains shaking as he did so. He looked like some sort of wild animal.
Derrick had been in the cell for so long that he was going crazy, getting worse everyday until now where he finally cracked.
The door pushed open, making a scapping noise against the cold stone floor.
"Well, looks like our subject is finally starting to crack" A chilling voice spoke, giggling madly like a little child. There in the doorway stood a slayer-scientist, Troy Von Snark.
"Snark, let me go!" Derrick roared. His voice was gruff, almost like it hurt him to talk.
"No, my pet. But its going to be all over soon. I promise" he said, rubbing his hands together and laughing. Von Snark was no older then Derrick, about 22 (Derrick was 20 at the time), but he had deep bags under his bloodshot eyes that made him look older.
Thats when the gas started to seep into the room, and Derrick realized that there was a glass panel between him and Troy.
"What is this!?" Derrick growled, trashing violently. He looked around, teeth bared and eyes wide as the green mist poured around him and he started to grow dizzy. The last thing he remembered seeing was Von Snark yelling, something at the sounds of "LEAK! LEAAK!" before he black out completly.
And then he was surrounded by a colorful multitude, like a rainbow in hyper-space.
Derrick found himself slowly loosing memories of things. First why this was happening, then where he had been, Claire, Artimes...Mich, Leo, Griff...Holly..the battles..the dances..
Then he looked around. The now young boy was in a different cell, but with a window this time, latched to the wall by a chain around his ankle.
He rubbed his short, unevenly cut orange hair and looked around. What had happened? he didn't know...but he did know he had a massive headache and felt like he was going to puke.
Of course, that feeling was normal for him.
Quietly, he layed his head back down on the stone cold floor and fell asleep.
- Spoiler:
I was sitting in my bedroom, quite innocently just residing. The clock on my nightstand ticked away as time passed, because, well, time always passes. The day just dragged on. Eventually, I became bored of dilly-dallying in my room.
I stood and made my way outside. The sun was cresting along the treeline; glints of orange light poured over the lake, creating a beautiful, picturesque moment. I smiled. Life was beautiful, what can I say?
Slowly I came to the garden. Oh, the garden. So many memories here...most of which consisted of Serious P.O.ing me to the point of no return, then of course I'd come here to cool down. The flowers, ever stretching and reaching out towards the sun with their lanky green bodies, always had a calming effect on me.
I lowered myself onto a bench. There was a tiny chirp from a cricket somewhere, and distantly even a child's laughter. A smile tugged at my lips, and I leaned back. The setting sun cast no warmth on me, but I felt an inner warmth. Peace was an amazing thing, I'd have to admit.
I was there, crouching in the flowers, watching her. She looked so calm. Hmm. Of course, I couldn't let that happen!
I raised myself so that I was no longer covered. Her eyes shut, she didn't see me. A smirk pulled back my scaly lips and a chuckle rumbled in my belly.
I cranked my neck out till its full extent, and then let my jaw hang open. I was surprised that she didn't wither the second she smelled my stank-breath. With a shrug, my tongue flopped out of my mouth and onto her face.
I gasped, squealing in surprise and sitting up. "Sirius!" I yelped, looking up at him, my face contorted in disgust. "That's disgusting!"
"A day is never complete unless I anger you, Brixy," I replied, laughing now. She was mad at me, I could see, which satisfied me like no other thing could. When she refused to look at me, I walked forward a bit, nuzzling her. "Oh, take a joke."
"What are you doing out here besides being the bane of my existence, anyway?" I asked quietly, putting my arm around his nose. I played with a loose scale next to his eyelid, making him blink.
"Pickin' a flower for my Flower," I sang, holding up my claw. There sat the prettiest rose I'd been able to find; it was perfect in any way you could imagine in. The perfect number of thorns, the perfect curl to the perfectly crimson petals. I'd gotten bored, and into one of my extremely rarely sweet moods, so as a result I'd decided to be Mr. Suave-And-Romantic by picking her a flower.
"Oh, Sirius, that's so sweet!" I cooed, pressing my lips to the center of his star. He purred playfully, wiggling his eyebrows, and I laughed.
It was about at that moment an idea popped into my mind. A grin spread on my face, and I rose to my feet. "I'm going to go do something, Si," I said, absently feeling the warmth of a blush spread to my cheeks.
"And what is that?"
I twisted a lock of my hair around my finger, beaming now. My heart fluttered in my chest. "You'll see."
About ten minuets later, I found myself sitting at my desk, my pen scribbling away at an old (and slightly crumpled) piece of paper I'd yanked out from one of the drawers. I felt tears rush to my eyes and then away again; I refused to let a single one ooze down and cause the ink to run.
I won't deny what I was writing. It was a love letter. A sappy, heartfelt love-letter, to Griff. Sirius had inspired me. I, for some reason, at that moment in time, was possessed by that emotion we have dubbed "love" to explain my feelings for Griff. I wanted him to know how much I cared about him, and how much I had always cared about him, and how much I would always care about him.
I wrote for a good half hour, filling that sheet of paper and another. I only inquired at the very end whether or not he loved me like I loved him too? And I added after that, it didn't matter how he felt, nothing could change the way I felt.
I sat back, reading over my work. It was messy, and I spelled something wrong every other line. I laughed, making my corrections. When I finished, I looked around the room for a moment.
Something was missing.
Something was missing....
AH!
Thanks to a sudden epiphany, I vaulted to my feet and flew across the room to my dresser. My hand groped about beneath my shirts, searching. I found an old bar of soap shaped like an angel...a dime...another dime...a piece of chocolate...okay, that was kind of gross....Oh!
There it was.
The heart shaped rock.
I smiled down at it. That's what had been missing. I could remember giving it to him once or twice, and then getting it back. Shaking my head, I taped it to the letter, writing beneath it:
Keep it this time.
Content with my work, I opened my door and walked down the hall.
The trip to Griff's room took longer than I expected. It felt like years as I went along, passing open doors and shut ones. Hearing the sounds of laughter, sorrow, joy; not really listening to them, but registering them in the back of my mind.
At one point, Sirius tried to send me a message. About mist. That I needed to hold my breath, or get away from it, or just...But then whatever he was saying cut out, and I rolled my eyes. He had been pulling pranks on me a lot lately, and I wasn't about to let him pull the wool over my eyes again.
So I stood at Griff's door, staring at it for a moment. My crazy old heart pounded against my rib cage, threatening to beat right out of my chest. I smiled, crouching and shoving the lumpy envelope beneath his door, knocking once, and then running off like a school girl.
Half way down the hall, it, well, it hit me.
I don't remember much after that. The event of one going back through time after taking a simple breath sounds implausible--stupid, even--but...but that's what happened.
Falling. It felt like falling, I think. Tumbling through blankness, blackness, nothingness. If I squeeze my eyes shut real tight, I can almost feel it again. Be there, nearly--almost hear my screams. The screams, of course, stopped, because eventually too it felt like my chest was being compacted into a tight ball. Then things started to blur. Past, present, future...
Time?
What was time?
When traveling through time, is there time?
You could argue that just like you could argue the statement: "You're not really wet when you're completely under water."
And after an amount of this...this being, this purgatory, not really time...
I awake.
I sit up, blinking my eyes up at the sun as if I had just entered the world. Slowly, I push myself to my knees, and then my feet, feeling terrible. Where am I? What...what happened?
I glance down at myself. My small-yet-surprisingly-lanky body appears to be unscathed. But boy, do I have a headache or what!
I touch the back of my head, mumbling to myself for a moment.
After glancing around, I shrug, rubbing my eyes. "Well...that was weird...."
- Spoiler:
- The day was quiet. Everything seemed still… almost as if it were waiting for something to happen, something very bad. But Alexis, for some odd reason, was unable to see anything—she couldn’t even see a few seconds into the future. That was a problem; oh, it certainly was. It had to mean that no one—nothing—was making a specific decision. She saw the future by the decisions people made, you see. But at this moment, she saw…nothing. It was as if her ability to see what lay ahead was shut down.
She felt sick, too. The kind of sick that left her dizzy and… well, tipsy. And this leads us to her location: the bathroom. No, she wasn’t throwing up—but she felt like she was about to, as she sat down on the tile floor, resting her forehead against the cool wall. “What’s wrong with me?” She muttered, pulling herself back onto her feet, and, slowly, making her way over to the sink. She placed her forehead against the mirror, shutting her eyes, and pinching the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger. She tried to catch at least the smallest trace of a vision, but still, nothing came.
She cried out when she felt a quick, but effective, spike of pain split through her skull as an image flashed before her eyes: mist. She opened her eyes, staring at her reflection as she tried to calm herself. But that all changed when she heard the entrance door to her room, eerily, crack open. She almost jumped, glancing over her shoulder. “Who’s there?” She called, her eyes darkening—literally. Her pupils grew larger than the colored part of her eyes, and slowly began spreading to the whites. She gripped the edge of the sink, eyeing the doorknob to the bathroom suspiciously. And that’s when it happened.
Slowly, her eyes fell from the doorknob, to the cracks—the edges, the spaces. Something was seeping through. It was something white and… musty. She covered her nose, stumbling back against the wall, her eyes wide as her powers tried to fight against the mist that was trying to get to her. But, alas, this was out of control—and she could do nothing, absolutely nothing, to stop it. She closed her eyes as tight as they would go as she felt herself… falling. She felt like she was being pulled on a string. Up, down, and finally, backwards. She felt the wind being knocked out of her lungs as she hit something hard.
And then, her eyes opened. She was in the same bathroom, except it looked more… cluttered. She stood up slowly, feeling as if she had shrunk, or that the objects around her had grown. For one, the sink had little stickers stuck to it. Hey… since when was the sink so tall? She wondered as she took another step towards the sink, almost tripping over a purple stepping stool. Tilting her head, she stood on it, getting a look at the top part of the sink. There were about five Barbie toothbrushes, all with different styles, but still exceptionally girly.
‘Alexis, what’s keeping you so long in the bathroom?’ Came an older girl’s voice from outside. It almost sounded like Mariah’s. And, at that, Alexis laughed slightly as she tilted her head up slightly. It couldn’t be.
Her eyes settled on her reflection, and she gasped. She was tiny again—short, [about shoulder length] perfectly straight, golden hair, wide blue eyes, and a thin little body. She swallowed, shaking her head slowly. It couldn’t be… but it was.
She was helpless.

- Blue flames roared and minerals clashed as a battle raged in the heart of the forest, home of countless mysteries, tragedies and unfortunate times. Crystal Dhesira Spilmor knew this all too well. In her past twenty five years of life, she'd been kidnapped, cursed, a runaway, killed, revived and heartbroken all in the same woods, some troubling deeds performed more than once. Now, she also had her fair share of good memories as well, like meeting Brytt and bringing Jasper back to the good side, but those times didn't last as long as she'd hoped. Just when Crystal thought her forest life couldn't get more dramatic, there she was, fighting against her father in a sword-to-pick battle in which she intended to ruin her father once and for all, the demon he was.
Or maybe he would ruin her, she noticed as she was just a split second short of blocking off a sword lunge. The sharp metal cut across her forearm, sending a yelp into the air, which could reach many miles if echoed correctly. Crystal switched the hand she was using her pick in and simply parried off failed attacks by her father. She would wait for the pain to fade away before taking on the offense again. "What are you gaining out of this?" she demanded as she continued blocking shots.
Xavior smirked as the two stayed on an even level when in battle. "It's one less obstacle out of the way," he replied. "Come on, you used to be a Slayer; you should know our goals. All we want to do is destroy those that support the dragons and their little pests, and eliminating you would be a big leap towards our goal, believe it or not." His eyes traveled upward and quickly shot back down at his troublesome daughter to make sure she didn't make a move, which she didn't. "You never really were worth anything, were you?" Xavior asked rhetorically.
That was a huge pinch on Crystal's nerves. Of course she had been expecting such an insult from her father, but of all things he could say about her, to say she wasn't worth a penny was something she just couldn't tolerate. Her crystalline cerulean eyes went ablaze. "I'm just one supporter, so what if I can set myself on fire?" she pointed out. "Even if you do find pleasure in killing your children, I've got a secret to tell you." Crystal focused all her energy on the hand of her injured arm and felt it heat up. A subtle flick of her wrist sent it into flames, and disregarding the pain and energy draining from her as if she were sweating bullets, Crys sent a powerful punch right into her father's unprotected, vulnerable chest, crushing him against the nearest tree. She let her hand relax and hissed, "It's your turn to say goodbye."
Those were her final words to him as he carelessly exhaled his final breath, leaving the man limp against the tree. Crystal's knees began to knock against each other from the weakness she now possessed and collapsed to the ground on her knees. She couldn't believe she'd just killed her father, and it had taken so much out of her. But why was she dizzy? Crys opened up her briefly closed eyes to find a mist creeping around her limbs like a fog. Almost involuntarily she took in another breath, and instantly she was out—like a light.
As time rewound itself, slowly the twenty-five year old lady began fading away in a sense. One year she'd artificially had her hair waved to disguise herself when on the run, and that was soon brought to shoulder blade length again, straightened to meet its original style. Over the ages Crystal had become 5'10", but as her youth returned she was once more a mere 5'3". While many scars were polished over her skin, eyes, mind and heart, countless remained as they had been created in the first fourteen years of her life. While the mist infiltrated her mind, Crys was robbed of her memories of Brytt, Leon, Brixy, and countless other heartbreaking times while others remained. The result of it all was a limp fourteen year old girl asleep on the forest floor.
Finally, several hours later, Crystal awoke, her young eyes lightly fluttering. Immediately she found oddity in the situation and shot into a standing position. What was she doing in this part of the forest? She was running away to the Dragon Emporium, right. Crys brushed off some dust on her body and began sprinting in the direction she prayed was the one that lead to her destination.

Re: THE DRAGON EMPORIUM [book one, a new start] [youmaypost]
HUMAN FORM[all humans must have a dragon]
Name: Sophia 'Sophie' Dresedin [So-fie-ah||Drez-eh-den]
Age: 15 years, two months.
Gender: Girl
Side: Good, kidnapped student
Physical Description: Sophie was always the gentle child. Even her looks screamed that she had that gentle and caring sort of nature. She's small, with a petite form, standing at about five feet in height, no more, no less. She has extremely pale, almost transparent skin, making her look almost 'ghost like' to most people. She has a head of mousey brown hair that waves whenever she's wearing it down, and reaches somewhat below her shoulder blades. She also has a pair of slightly uneven bangs, one side sometimes partly covering her right eye. She has full, pale white lips, and dimples that appear whenever she smiles. Her eyes are very large, and are an almost clear blue-- sometimes looking green. She has long, feather-duster like lashes to go along with them. From being trapped in Slayer territory for so long has left her many scars, some appearing by the day, and some years old.
Personality: Sophie is very quiet and reserved. She only speaks when spoken to, but, when insulted, she can and will talk back-- which often earns her a painful punishment. She is easily frightened, jumping at even the slightest of sounds. She's paranoid, too, always looking around and listening through the walls of her cell. When one gets to know her, they will find that she has a gentle strength in her, with a happy and almost carefree sort of personality.
Special talents: She's a good liar, and, sometimes, she can see into people's pasts.
History: Sophie doesn't remember much of her shattered childhood. She grew up in the large Dresedin family, where things were almost never quiet and peaceful. One day, she and her sister Mariah decided to play in the forest behind their home. They were playing 'hide and seek'. Mariah was seeking, and Sophie was hiding. But Sophie was never found. She had been taken captive by the Slayers, to see if she can be made useful-- into a sort of weapon. But she was stubborn. She refused, earning her a 'special cell' in the Slayer's hideout.
DRAGON FORM
Name: Eridella
Gender: Female
Age: Egg
Description: Eridella is the base color of sea green, with scattered blue specks all over her 'shell', since she is still in her egg. When she does hatch, she'll have a pair of large, bright blue eyes, and two curling horns sticking out on either side of her little head.
Personality: Eridella is feisty. Even in her egg, she is still known to cause much trouble. She seems to have a way of knowing whatever is going on around her, and, when she doesn't, she'll whine. She likes to know anything and everything, having a natural curious personality.
Special power: Unknown.
