Because (finished now)

This is unfinished.
Maturity: Low/Medium? Mentions death and sad stuff, but not really scary.
Fantasy: None, really. Some thoughts, I guess, but no fantasy.
*I might add more to this/redo it. I'm not completely satisfied with it. I hope it makes sense!*
Because
Because all things have some sort of matter
I feel myself begin to sink.
Because many things are mad as a hatter
I much too often think.
Because all my life has brought me to tears
I find myself crying too much.
Because I’ve lived my life for so many years
I feel ashamed for living like such.
Because flowers have wilted right before my eyes
I feel death linger in the air.
Because I’ve never been good with saying ‘goodbyes’
I force myself not to feel bare.
Because of everything that has ever happened to me
I have built myself a personality.
Because of all the hardships or problems to be
I try to give people hospitality.
Because of the ways I use my wit
I sometime forget to care.
Because of the fear of getting bit
Being calm is very rare.
Because of my overprotective habits
Sometimes I forget to share.
Because of the attraction of metal to magnets
I want to be a pair.
Because I’ve listened, but never spoken
I wish I had voiced.
Because I’ve never won a prize or token
I can’t remember if I’ve ever rejoiced.
Because I can’t close my eyes and just sleep
I stay awake when it gets dark.
Because I can’t feel myself when I weep
I’m numbed from pain in my heart.
Because I’m bad at trying
I find myself fail.
Because I’m always lying
I hide behind a veil.
Because I’ve only hurt nothing
I’ve never hurt somebody.
Because I’m always bluffing
I’m always feeling shoddy.
I do everything because.
How about a round of applause?

I spent a lot more time on this than I do for other poems.
Normally I just whip one up in five to ten minutes. This one took more time.
