Colors For the Blind ~ Free Verse

How do you describe colors to the blind
If they can't see the colors in the mind?

Red is humiliation and hate
Red is pain and blood
Red is the color that makes you stop
Red is a rose, covered in thorns

Orange is confidence
Orange is security and motivation
Orange is the color that makes you bold
Orange is the sun, happiness after the storm

Yellow is positivity and optimism
Yellow is finding the best in things
Yellow is the color that makes you happy
Yellow is a puppy, lively and energetic

Green is fresh and new
Green is helpful and a protector
Green is the color that is all about life
Green is a cucumber, cool and refreshing

Blue is calm and cool
Blue is peace and serene
Blue is the color that brings you comfort
Blue is pizza, a comfort food

Purple is laughter and fun
Purple is spirit and intuition
Purple is the color that makes things funny
Purple is music, meaningful and soulful

Pink is romance and love
Pink is shy but noticeable
Pink is the color that makes you care
Pink is a sugar cookie, sweet and soft

Black is fear and darkness
Black is death, a dark hole
Black the color that makes you cold
Black is a tunnel, feels never ending

White is purity and silence
White is hope and magic
White is the color that brings us together
White is a dove, grace and beauty

Although this isn't my best poem, it was fun to write. (: It was challenging and I'm kind of proud of it. xD

Even without that bad tan bit, I really like this. So imaginative, and I love thinking of pizza as . . . colored blue. xDD

It probably is when Sally Jackson makes it. xD That's immediately what I thought of when you mentioned pizza being blue.

Ya know what else annoys me about tans? When people think they're subtle.

Like, ok, gradual spray tan in the spring/summer: could be natural. But for our social in January, the palest girl in our grade got a really fake tan and thought no one noticed. It annoyed me, I heard her say, "Oh, yeah, I guess I spend a lot of time outside!" and I was thinking "You dirty, lying freak...."

Sorry, I just find that annoying. -_-
