Whispering
Speaking softly
Calling your name
Shouting it loudly

You never seem to hear
You never acknowledge
You never understood
How many times I cared

Seeking
Keeping watch
Trusting eyes
Hoping

You never look for me
You never call my name
You’ll never wait for me
Yet, I leave you be

Crying
Fallen tears
Worthless dreams
Because of you
I am torn
Broken
Left to live a life I do not want

I’m never angry
Never afraid
And I never judge you

Why?
I did not realize who you were
My everything
My promise
My life
And I still can’t let that go

You slipped away like a shadow
The dark night revealing nothing
Hint me not
Leaving me

Now,

I weep
I scream
I seek
I live
I care

And you never come back
The oaths you made forgotten
The greetings I gave worthless

Though the hopes I have still live on in my heart.
