Fishbowl ~ A random freeverse poem

Just something random I wrote.
I see it swim
Back and forth
And back and forth
And back and forth
Trapped in a
Tiny
Tiny
Tiny
World
There is no escape
No freedom
All it has is one side of the glass cave
To the other side
Then back again
Sure, there's a little castle
And some fronds and plants
Colored rocks fill the bottom
Fresh water is put in weekly
Food brought there daily
You'd think it sounds nice
But you'd be wrong.
If my little fish could talk,
I know exactly what he'd say:

Fish can't tell us that, though
We never know how they feel
Cramped in a bowl too small
All alone with nothing to do.
We always have something to do
Somewhere to go
Someone to be with
Why do we hold goldfish captive?
They never did anything to us
As I watch my fish swim around
I wish I could let him go
But I can't.
I don't know where to safely send him
And I wouldn't be allowed to anyway.
I bet I'm the only person who tried
To analize the life of a fish
Do you want to try?
Fine
Go ahead
Find an empty closet
A really small closet
Then go inside
Have someone lock you in
And walk
Back and forth
And back and forth

Thats awesome! I wish I could let fish go too, I mean it's so true I wonder what they do? Awesome free write!! I want to try some, but I don't think they will be as good as this one. It's amazing!!
