On Life & In Love

Her innocent hand so gently caressed
All that she had been dreaming of
She claimed she had no hold on life
But for once, she had fallen in love

I'd look into this mirror and feel
The breath of a stranger around me
The glass, it shattered, and screamed
I cried out and so you found me

Running on rocks, she tried not to fall
Though her eyes betrayed the pain
Cuts and bruises of a broken heart,
A love that she couldn't explain

I hear a voice in the distance
It whispers, it shouts, my name
I try to run, I'll race away -
The ending is always the same

Her steady hand hesitantly let go
Of all she had ever dreamed of
She swore she had no hold on life
And for once, she had fallen in love
