Jayne was wandering around in the dark streets. Her leg was bleeding, and hair knotted with dirt. She was starving, and thirsty. She came across a shallow puddle and knelt down on the gravel. She took a sip, and splashed some onto her face.

I walked around town, looking for second, or even third children. Luckily, Cara was at home being nourished. I saw a girl drinking out of a puddle. I ran up to her. "Are you an illegal?" I whispered into her ear. "I'm here to help you."

Jayne narrowed her eyes. "Who wants to know?" She stood up and took a step back. First rule in her mind- avoid human contact. She couldn't risk getting into another fight.

I stood up straight, and fumbled through full pockets. I pulled out a water bottle and a sandwich. "Here. Eat. Drink." I handed them to her.

Jayne snatched them. "Who are you anyways?" She opened the water and sniffed it suspiciously. She took a sip and then closed it.
