Every night I sit in bed
Wishing on a star
I pray that I can see you soon
Bring me to where you are

As I drift off into sleep
From my eyes lonely tears stream
Then I see you in front of me
Yet it is just a dream

Awoken in the quiet dawn
The gentle morning light
Streaming through the window
I draw the covers tight

Why can't I be with you?
Why can't you just see
That I know right where you belong
And it is here with me?

I take a walk around the block
Trying to clear my mind
Hoping there is something new
Something for me to find

Then I see you in front of me
Though I'm filled with confusion
I run up close only to find
You were just an illusion

I haven't seen you in so long
And my heart always aches
I need to find you, wherever you are
No matter what it takes

Every night I sit in bed
Wishing on a star
I pray that I can see you soon
Bring me to where you are
