It's Too Late

Nothing's going to change
In this too messed up place
The planet won't be saved
And extinction's just a race

The waters will never be cleaned
And hunting will never end
The trees will never grow again
The most we can do is suspend

The sky will fall onto us all
The ground will crack and break
Our towers won't look quite so tall
As we realize Earth's just a tiny flake

To us it's our home upon which we live
Though we've made so many tragic mistakes
We're killing our cousins, our home, our friends
We have to stop it, no matter what it takes

We're judgemental and rude
If it's not human, it's mere
We say everything else is savage
But whose really the savage one, my dear?

If it's not like us, it's different
If it's different, then it's weird and shunned
To us, everything's taken for advantage
The stuff we do, God would be stunned

Whether it's polotics, religion, or race
We simple can't agree
We have to debate and argue it out
If it involves a fight, it's us that you'll see

We're pushy and inconsiderate
And do nothing that we say
We don't keep half of our promises
As our hearts slowly decay

Imagine us in years from now
With nothing left to destroy
We'll slowly wipe each other out
And we'll have no smiles, no pride, no joy...
