Special Circumstances

. . . okay, no, sorry. XD I'm just thinking about Uglies right now, so this isn't as bad as the title may be making it sound.

Basically, we got a lot of candidates this time around. The mods and I were having a couple problems because of that. It's not a bad thing, it's just that I'd set the maximum number of poll options to twenty, and we got more than that for a couple of the categories. xD I've switched it to the maximum now, which is fifty, but we felt we should bring this up now before it happens again.

When nominating members, please be sure to consider specially why you're nominating them. It's not necessarily a bad thing to nominate someone just because they're your favorite person in the world, but the whole point of the featured member part is to point out members who've contributed to the community in some way. So if somebody just hangs out in Cup o Joe or something, you can still nominate them if you really like them that much, but please consider other people, too.

And I'm not really sure we have to worry about it anymore . . . but all the same, it would be great if you could try to keep it to one nomination per category. This still isn't a requirement, but a request, but yeah.

I always nominate because people have done something to make the community better. For example, Kiri contributes a great amount of stuff to TwigAdopts; Komoda posts thought-provoking and great blogs; Keri has so many great stories it's easier to nominate her than all of her stories... (:
