"Here's how it works: Your child sees and hears the word: SLAP! Followed by hearing and seeing the meaning of the word, while saying and doing the word! It's that simple!" *baby slaps mom*

Yeah, no.

Some of their voices even sound fake. "Bellybutton!" "Wave!" "Oh no! Said Scrooge, Oh no, Kind Spirit!" Psssh... shut up, small child.

I know. XD
You know, they chose words that babies tend to do out of fascination. They tend to lift up their shirt, to show their stomach. They tend to GIGGLE. They tend to flap their hands around, if that's what you'd like to call waving. They tend to SMILE.

Oh my gosh, these people.
Hey, since we want our kids to go into kindergarten at the age of 2, let's teach them how to read so they'll be moved into 1st grade! 8D

Let's teach babies to abuse their mothers and others around them at an infantile age!
I dunno if that's the message you were trying to get across, but I'm with you on it. xD

Your Baby Can Read! Empty Re: Your Baby Can Read!

I taught myself how to read when I was 4. I know the children in this commercial are "reading" at like 3 months, but I taught myself which I found impressive. I didn't need some crappy system forcing me to learn.

I think the first word I read, actually was "STOP" on a stop sign. Ok, I admit, I got some help from Barney, but I don't even remember that.

The first time I remember reading was when I was playing a game with my mom. I insisted on playing even though it was a trivia game and I needed to read cards. I read the question to my mom all on my own and her jaw dropped. It wasn't an easy question, either. It was a Wizard of Oz game so it involved the words "scarecrow" and such. Which, for a 4 year old are impressive words to read.

Basically, what I'm trying to say here is that kids can learn how to read on their own. They don't need some system yelling at them. xP

I just Google'd it.

What. The. Freaking. Pineapples.

Aren't people allowed to have a childhood any more? When kids turn five they go from "Little cute thing" to a miniature adult. They don't have the rebellious years, or get to go and play with their friends in ball pools.

"YAYYYYYY LETS TEACH LITTLE KIDS HOW TO READ SO THEY CAN GROW UP FASTER!! YAYYY!"

I live in the middle of nowhere, and just...WHUT? My little sister was having a non school uniform day today and this like, six year old who can't even properly speak yet had a full face of make up on - foundation, blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, concealer, EVERYTHING.

MWL, about the smallish makeup girl.... ew. That is bad. Our world is bad. :3

I think the purpose of the your baby can read thingy is so mommies can send their little kiddies to school sooner.

Geez, that thing seems totally unneeded. I completely taught myself to read, and I was only two! nod (Or three. I never can remember.) Babies don't need to learn, thank you very much, they just need a stack of books and someone willing to read to them all day.

Heh. I was like three or four when I learned to read, and mainly that was because everyone in my family seemed to love reading, but no-one wanted to read to me like those kids on TV got read to. I wanted to be cool like the rest of them, so I learned how.

Atleast that's what I remember of it.
