How should I spell the name?

So I know I want the character's name to be pronounced like eye with an R on the beginning. But I can't decide whether I should spell it like the bread, Rye, or like Rai. (Yes, I am aware that TWIG has a user named Rai, I promise I didn't steal the name from you- it just came to me)
The character is a ninja with teal hair and purple eyes. She's tough and won't take nonsense. so vote away! Smile

Rye makes me think of the bread too much, which isn't teal or purple. Razz So I chose Rai.

In Japanese, 'ai' is pronounced like 'eye'. Since ninjas are Japanese, Rai would be the most sensible form of spelling.

yeah, that was my general line of thought. I also have a wierd habit of naming my characters after foods and animals though. :') I couldn't decide, so posted a poll.

I think you should go with 'Rai.' Not because it's my username, lol, but because I think it looks kinda pretty. 'Rye' also makes me think a lot about the bread, while 'Rai' looks unique and such.

Ave, 'Rai' reminds me of 'Ray,' too. It was actually how I pronounced it when I made the username up (I typed in the wrong letters) a few years ago on another site. XDDD

Haha. XD Yeah, I think it's because I know this girl named Rachel, and we all call her Ray, though she spells it like 'Rai'.
