Keri's Haiku's. [Time Eludes added]
Welcome
Welcome, my dear friend.
Oh, the fun has just begun.
There is so much more...
A Haiku is a poem that has three lines, and a certain amount of syllables on each line: First line; five syllables. Second line; seven syllables. Third line; five again. According to every English class I've ever taken, a Haiku is supposed to be about nature... But they're so much fun to do, that I do them about anything. Like, you can stick five or six of them together, and if they rhyme on say, the seven syllable line, then you can make a longer poem, like a limerick ... sort of. Eh. But this is my thread of Haiku's, starting with the Welcome one you just read.
Rain
Rain, rain, please don't cry.
Shed your tears another day.
So dark the day is.
Rain, rain, please don't cry.
Let happiness fill the sky.
The sun is hidden.
Rain, rain, please don't cry.
Shine your bright light on the Earth.
Create happiness.
Rain, rain, please don't cry.
Awake from your dark slumber,
Sun. Light up the sky.
Rain, rain, go away.
Come again, another day.
If you don't, don't cry.

If you couldn't tell, the inspiration from that came from the fact that it's raining where I live... It's a pure storm, but it's weird... It's a silent storm. Which happens to be the title of my next poem.
Silent Storm
Oh, the quiet wind,
The endless rain of the day.
Will the end arrive?
"No." The wind whispers.
"The pouring rain will not end.
It has just begun."
"But wind, why?" I ask.
"Why will the rain never stop?"
But no answer comes.
The wind hums a tune.
Familiar but new.
"It is not over."
The reply was here.
I joyfully faced the wind.
"I believe you're done."
The silent storm gone,
The rain had ended quickly.
All was calm on Earth.
I really do like that poem. It seems to say a lot in a short number of stanzas.
Time Eludes
When time eludes you,
How do you go about life?
What do you do next?
When time eludes you,
How do you get things finished?
How do you create?
When time eludes you,
Does inspiration come fast?
Or does it come slow?
When time eludes you,
What will you hold close to heart?
What is left behind?
When time eludes you,
You start to think about life.
Of what you have now.
When time eludes you,
Questions are never answered.
Answers never come.
When time eludes you,
What have you to think about?
Except for yourself.
"Quit feeling self-centered" Motto? I guess so... More of a moral. When you have no more time, when it's all gone, then you can think about yourself. Until that time, do some good for others, will ya?
