Re: The Band Geeks Club
I propose, that in twenty or so years from now, we'll have a meeting in person! Somewhere random that nobody lives at so that we won't get stalked. We'll just talk in person.
Of course it would prob'by fail. I mean, who's gonna go out to the middle of nowhere just to meet Shadow?
Ann gave me these flavored reeds for Christmas. I think they're cursed 'cause they don't work as well as normal reeds, they leave color marks on my tongue and fingers, which causes me to get my music all red, and they drip red saliva through my saxophone, which causes my fingers to get it on 'em, and get all wet and red, and ruin my music.

Re: The Band Geeks Club
The thing is, some college kid actually made those himself. So the quality isn't exactly guaranteed.
Re: The Band Geeks Club
xD I understand.
Do they make colored mouthpieces for trumpet?
My dad said if we save up, I might get an electric blue trumpet.

Actually, they do! My friend has this bright purple mouthpiece for hers, and it's pretty epic. x3 Great for high notes, too. I tried it myself! The only thing is, it's plastic, not metal.
:3 Sweeeeeet. That'd stand out, lol! xD

Re: The Band Geeks Club
Wait, Amanda, you play the trombone?
What if there was an instrument where the mouthpiece was attached to two separate horn parts, each with it's own keys, so you could play chords on the instrument! That would be wicked sweet.

I had to play my solo when we played the song, but my freakin director never told me how the solo was supposed to go so I kept screwing up cuz I had been practicing it wrong at home. xP I was probably so red, especially when he said, "And Teresa's holding out the note here...." in the song cuz I had stopped when I thought I was supposed to when I wasn't supposed to. Then he let me try it again, but I still screwed up so he said, "Ok, we'll come back to that part." and I was still probably so red. xP

Aww, I'm sorry, Saddle. That's why I don't like solos. Cause when I got one, my friend's little brother in band tried to embarrass me. xP

Re: The Band Geeks Club
Aww, I ish sorry. :/ *huggle* I hate solos for that reason, too . . . I'm just glad I've never had to play any except when filling in for the people above me. *cringe*
Just try and not freak out about it. ^^ It wasn't really your fault, so just try not to dwell on it . . . things'll be easier if you don't, trust me.

I did good yesterday in band. I got it right cuz I learned how it was supposed to go. I won't screw up again.

Re: The Band Geeks Club
I'm always so nervous before my solo, even though I always play it right and come in on time. I guess I'm just nervous cuz I'm like playing alone (well, with a clarinet, but I'm the only flute) and my heart just starts racing and won't calm down till after I finish.

Re: The Band Geeks Club
I know how you feel, Saddle. I'm not first chair so I don't really have any solos, but in senior band I'm first and a half chair (technically I don't have a chair cus I'm just a helper), so if Joe (the second chair) can't play the solos when Henri is absent, I have to do them. And I freak out. I don't even get why it's such a big deal, but my heartrate apparently thinks it is.
At least you always get it right, though. xD I've failed several times. You must be really good!

Re: The Band Geeks Club
I don't know how I get it right. xD Probably cuz it's not too hard or too long. I could record it and post it here. But it'll sound weird without the clarinet part.
The only problem I have is the last note I'm supposed to hold out for....6 beats, I believe, but by the time I get to that, I'm out of breath and I can't hold it out. I'm trying to work on it, but I don't really know how to solve the problem.

That's too bad, Sadd'. If it weren't a solo, I would suggest holding it for as long as possible, then taking a breath and going again. That's what I do sometimes.
