Dapplebranch padded out of the nursery. The kits were almost due, but her belly wasn't very big - she'd guessed that there'd only be one or two kits. Either that or a few very very small ones. However many and whatever size, though, they were active little things, wriggling around inside her whenever they were awake.

I padded out of the apprentice den, my speckled black coat soaking up the sun.

I waved my tail cheerfully. "Hello."
