Eagleflight watched her go. The light in her eyes dulled out and she flopped down to rest.

Shrewstar licked her ear.
Foxpaw flew threw the forest, not caring as Clan cats snarled at her. She fell into the valley of Foxes, and breathed in the comforting scent of her kin. She had rolled in mud to hide her scent, and invented a lie to get the cure. She sprinted up to a fox. "I need the cure for Foxtrot!" She told him. His eyes widened and he dropped the herbs that were already in his mouth. "You want Seralee." He told her, pointing his nose towards a old, brittle fox. She raced over. "My mom has Foxtrot!" She told him, which wasn't exactly a lie. "I'll come to cure her." He said in an old, cracking voice. "No!" Foxpaw cried. "Tell me what to do!" The old fox chuckled. "No, young 'un. I must cure her." He waited for her to lead the way, and she finally did, leading him through all the cats' defenses. Some cats on the way playfully waved a paw at her, and she waved back, automatically. She finally gor back to camp, exhausted. Immediately she fell to the ground, half-asleep.

Eagleflight opened her eyes, seeing the old fox. "You came."

"Yes." cracked the fox's voice, and he stumbled a bit while walking to Eagleflight. He began to give Eagleflight certain remedies never heard of in the Clans, and Shrewstar watched on, learning them.

Eagleflight began to feel her fallen strength return.

His paws began to move quicker, getting into the rhythm of the disease's cure. Foxpaw got up off the ground and fell back down after she saw the old fox's paws, dizzy.

Eagleflight's breathing steadied and evened out.

Shrewstar memorized the pattern and padded over to Foxpaw.

Eagleflight called for Foxpaw.

Foxpaw trotted over to her foster-mother. "Yes?"

"Thank you Foxpaw," Eagleflight meowed. "You saved my life."

"No problem." She said, flushing.

Eagleflight licked her cheek.

Shrewstar licked Eagleflight.
Foxpaw trotted over to the old fox.

Eagleflight smiled and licked Shrewstar back.

Foxpaw looked up at the old fox and murmured a question to him. He nodded a yes.

"What did you ask?" Eagleflight murmured softly.

She looked down, embarassed and scared of how her foster parents would ask.

"It's alright, I won't say anything about it."

Foxpaw smiled a bit.

Eagleflight licked her ear.

She licked her mother back.
"So, I guess we'll be on our way." The old fox said.

"We?" Eagleflight asked.

"Foxpaw will be going with me."
