Aki's NaNo journey

This is where I'll be writing about my daily journey.... like the days that go fantabulous and the days I have writers block, and to introduce my characters, etc.

Progress:

Day negative 1: Character development finished and getting really excited for NaNo to start!!!!

Day 1: wrote a little bit at church, on paper. When I got home and after I finished lunch, i proceeded to spend the rest of my day at my computer writing. Word goal of 5000 for day one complete! with 5174 words- so 174 extra! listened to either Owl City or nothing.

Day 2: It's actually Day 3 today, but i'm writing day 2's updates. haha. My wordcount at the end of day 2: 8172. Yay! Falcon has fought her first robot and also 5 robbers- about 5 people have died and one police officer got shot twice- once i the shoulder and the tip of his ear was grazed by a bullet. Ouch. Listened to Owl City. I guess that's my official writing music now. haha.

Day 3: I reached 10k on day 3. That's really all. hahah.

Day 4: didn't really write much. less than 100 words, i think. But i wrote a lot of poems =P

Day 5: i don't remember what went on on Day 5.

Day 6: 13k! left for weekend retreat

Day 7: barely wrote. =P Too busy doing stuff with my friends.

Day 11... oh boy. I wanted to be at 22000 by now. Instead i'm only at 18505... but I haven't written yet today. EDIT: i got to about 19946 so once I hit 20000 i'll stop. x3 even though it's technically tommorow now.....

Day 15: Recently I've been writing while watching anime I've been writing during the theme songs and ending songs and stuff. As you would assume, i fell behind a little. Then write or die came to my rescue and it was a lot better. But, i finished Tokyo Mew Mew, so i should have more concentration time now. (hopefully ) Anyway, my word count is 25262. HALFWAY, YEAH!!!!!

Day 16: word count- 27128. I used write or die and got 1402 words in 31 minutes Write or die is like my bff. well, not really, but you get the point. It helps me spout off random junk that somehow usually makes sense *gasp*

Day 21: The second half of NaNo is FLYING BY! epic moment i wrote today (free advertising O.o)

“Oh, they even have a section for Flint’s stuff!” Falcon squealed. “I can summon him any kind of stick he needs, from a club to a crowbar to a shower curtain rod to well, a stick!” She said, holding up a twig.
“A… twig?” Olivia asked. “Why a twig?”
“Flint loves twigs. I don’t know why.” Falcon said. “But I heard him and his writing buddies talking about how much they love them.”
“That’s interesting and slightly disturbing.” Olivia said.

It's really TWIG, not A twig. word count= 35061

Day 22: FLINT IS SUSPENDED 2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AFTER FALLING LIKE FORTY FEET AND HE'S GOING TO DIE WHEN I START WRITING AGAIN!!! Sorry for yelling. That was not in excitement, but frustration. His death is a major point in the story (climax actually) but I feel so awful! especially since i stopped writing RIGHT before he hit the ground. >.< nuuu!!!! not flint!!!!! Falcon's going to hate me forever!!!!!

anyway. 38630 words. I did good today.

Day 28: I THINK i WILL GET MY PURPLE BAR TODAY!!!!!! I'm exactly 1000 words away from winning and my novel is drawing to a close.
Edit: I won on day 28 with 50881 words!!!! YAYAYA!!! PARTAY!!! Mah novel ish done.

Character introductions:


This is Olivia. She's not the main character, but she's the only one I have the writing on the picture yet for, so she'll be the first.
She's kind of shy, and Martial Arts are her passion. She does many different kinds- Karate, Kung fu, Tae Kwon Do, etc.
She's the main character's best friend- and a strong Christian. She likes to pray about anything and everything.
In the picture, she's supposed to be slamming down the robot with her foot. It kind of looks like she's stepping up onto it though. Oh well. I'm bad at motion. hahah.
If you wonder why there's a burning building in the background, it's because I was using a lot of cool colors in the picture and wanted to balance it out with some warm ones. Besides- I felt like the background needed more action. *shrug*

Falcon- the main charrie. She has a strange sense of style and isn't easily embarrassed. She can summon things out of thin air and also make them disappear, as long as she knows their locations before and after. Why balls, in this picture? Well, because i couldn't think of anything else. It was late at night, give me a break. Oh, and when she summons something, there's no swirlies or stars or magical sounds. It just materializes there, but I had to make it more interesting for the picture. Falcon is a christian but she isn't very thrilled about it. She's kind of apathetic.


This is Flint. The reason he looks awful is because I never finished the picture before I scanned it, so it has no background and is colored digitally. bleh. But i'm too lazy to finish it right now.
Flint is an author. I can relate to him a lot. He has mad pencil spinning skills, and uses them with crowbars, etc. when he's fighting. He's Falcon's crush. hehe. He has a twin brother, Slate, who is his editor. He's a strong Christian and considers everything in light of what he feels God would have him do.

I think it's fine here.

thank you! she is. Flint is even cooler because he's a writer. hehe. I couldn't resist- writers are so awesome. I should color his picture and get it scanned. But i don't have a scanner until like, tommorow. (switching out printers)
