Half-Blood Haven: Vampires, Werewolves, and Spies... oh my! (Part 2)

"Pleasure is mine," he said calmly, shaking his hand. It was as if the two had never met before...

Severus nodded slowly at Marcus, his eyes dark, and vague looking. He definitely wasn't giving anything away. But if you were on the 'Dark Wizard's Side' and often saw Severus like this, you could tell that his eyes said 'tell and I will get you'. He then released his hand, and returned it to his side. He looked back to Taylor, "Thank you for introducing me." He said with a smile, "I'm sure we'll get along."

"As am I," he said in a completely calm tone. His direction turned back to Taylor. "Where else can you show me? Any place outside of the forest that I can see?" He could tell the look in his eyes but didn't care from what Snape knew, all his precious Half-Breed friends were safe...

Taylor eyed the two but brushed it off. When he asked this, she rubbed the back of her neck thoughtfully, "Well, there's the apartments, mess hall... library, um..." She trailed her voice.

"Just follow me, then," came the heavy sigh of Luke's voice. "You don't need proof I'm myself. I'm just not presentable today and would rather remain unseen. Follow the sound of my voice." He disappeared back into the tree and hopped from branch to branch.

Harper took Ame's hand and gave it a gentle, reasuring squeeze. "Just follow him," he said softly, letting go and setting after the rustling sounds at a brisk pace.

Amethyst didn't seem satisfied but sighed, "If he's tricking us, don't make me say I told you so..." Silently the two twins zipped into the underbrush after them.

Derrick sighed and kept an even pace, out racing his sister and moving alongside Harper. "Any doubts that well...?" He didn't want to say it but hopefully the guy understood waht exactly he meant.

Harper glanced over at him, seeming slightly confused. "That well what?" he asked softly under his breath, keeping an eye on the black shape a few feet above and in front of him.

Severus looked over at Taylor, and the corner of his mouth pulled up into a crooked smile, half of his fang showing. He held his hand to his mouth, masking a joking snicker. He looked over at Taylor, one eyebrow raised. The look in his eyes said, 'You're stuck with him! Sucks for youuuuu!'.

"This could be a trap?" he asked the question that had been buzzing in his mind. "He's working for You-Know-Who an' all," he liked Harper just as much as than the next guy did but he'd kind of developed a brotherlyish bond and crud.

Taylor blushed a bit and stuck her tongue out at Severus. Suddenly a grin passed over her face, "Snape though would be able to show us all the places. I mean he knows the place like the back of his hand." 'Ha, ha.'

"Alright, how about he shows us around then?"

Harper sighed deeply. "I don't know," he admitted sheepishly. "But if it is, I swear to God I'm gonna shoot myself. I've had enough of this game."

There was a crank and the branch and Luke came to the ground. When Luke stood up Harper burst out laughing, and for good reason; the sunlight glinted brilliantly on the shinner Luke had gotten the other day, from none other than Emma.

"Dare I ask?"

"Not unless you want your tongue cut out," Luke hissed, glaring. He gave up on being secretive and strolled onward.

Severus stuck his tongue out at Taylor, but then made a calm face. He exhaled, and fake-smiled, "I'd be happy to show you around...."

Ame's eyes got so wide and she nearly collapsed laughing. She couldn't breathe for a good few seconds.

Derrick even started laughing, "I feel a bit more relaxed now," he admitted, trailing after Luke. "If Emma hit him that hard, he can't be that smart..." he grinned a bit, adding that under his breath.

"After you; age before beauty," she snorted, giving him the sweetest smile she could attempt at.

Marcus watched the two interact, seeming slightly amuzed by this. They were pretty good friends and he seemed pretty close to the pack leader from what Taylor had even said before. Good thing to store away.

"He's not," was Harper's murmured response.

"Now, we're nearly there," Luke was calling over his shoulder. "I warn you, I didn't do anything to make her sick, she's sick all on her own."

Harper's expression fell. "Sick? What are you talking about, Luke? You know We can't get sick." This was true; the kind of Vampires they were, they just didn't become sick.

"I realize that," came Luke's stiff reply. "But she is sick, and that's that, I don't know why."

Now the boy's expression was unreadable, he walked on silently.

Derrick snorted and followed after. A curve in his back straightened at that, "She's sick...?" He listened to the two of them talk, a little urgency arrived in his step. Sooner they got to Emma the more relaxed he'd be.

"Ladies first," Severus replied, mimicking her sweet little smile. He bowed, and gestured for her to go first. "And I am definitely not a lady, I can very much assure you of that." But all the while, in his mind's eye, he kept careful watch on Marcus.

Taylor rolled her eyes and took the first step forward, "That's debatable," she winked. A few steps and she nearly fell but she caught herself in time. She straightened her back, brushed the hair out of her eyes and kept walking.

Marcus snorted and followed close behind her, "Smooth, Padfoot, smooth."

Luke ignored Derrick and talked to himself thoughtfully, "It might have been the stuff Vi dropped off for her to eat the other day....you know, she's saying you're married again."

To keep Violet from hurting Sophie or anyone else, Harper had been playing house with Violet. He winced. "Mm..." he mumbled.

A little cabin was suddenly visible in the nearest clearing. "We're here," Luke said, leaning against a tree. "Be my guest but be quick. You've got five minuets tops to get her out and escape before I have to try and kill you all. Starting....now."

Severus chuckled quietly, suddenly appeared, walking beside her at an equal pace-- without the tripping over, of course. Sev wasn't as clumsy as that. Evie, on the other hand, was. And for reacting with Taylor in front of Marcus, he knew, would cause big trouble for him. And possible danger for Evie.

Derrick looked a little nervous at this, "Could be a reason." Both Anderson twins eyed each other, obviously confused. Derrick nodded to Ame, "Alright, it's dangerous... You go first."

"Thanks..." the werewolf bared her teeth and ducked into the house before another word could be exchanged.

The cabin only had one room. There was a couch pressed up against the wall near the door, and on a coffee table a few feet away sat a little old TV. On the far wall to the left was a small kitchen, towards the center of the room an old table. A single light swung lazily over head, the bulb deviod of a cover. Finally, in the last corner of the room was a little bed.
Emma was pale. Unhealthily pale; not the beautiful pale she normally was. She was on her side, curled up slightly, around five or six blankets piled on top of her. She wasn't moving except to breathe; her eyes were a bit glassy and she was staring blankly at the floor.

Harper watched Ame go but hung back just a second. "What's the catch?"

"If any of you don't get back to the Haven within the next..." he glanced at his watch. "Four--no, three minuets and fifty nine, fifty eight...seconds, she's mine and you're dead."

"Deal." Harper was inside the house.

Marcus was out of Taylor's view but maybe not Snape's. His eyes were dark and had this crafty sort of glow to them. He was plotting... thinking... planning something that could change. "So, What are we seeing first?"

"Ask the tour-guide."

Amethsyt was beside her in an instant, "Emma? Emma, can you hear me?" Her voice sounded panicked as she tried to make Emma come-to. "Emma can you--"

"Ignore that, get her moving. We have to be out and back in three minutes," he picked her up in a sort of bridal style.

"I'm cold." Emma mumbled, staring up at the ceiling, looking past the ceiling. "Harper, can I have a blanket."

Harper looked relieved enough to cry. He picked up a blanket and gently drapped it over his sister. "Of course," he said softly, brushing his hand across her face; it was so hot that he hissed a little and drew it back swiftly.

Snape glanced at Taylor, trying to get her attention. He certainly must warn her, somehow. And he would have to tell Evelyn to steer clear of the forest, just in case. There were few people who knew that he had a little sister. Because, Evie is a half-blood. And he promised himself, and her, that nothing bad would happen to her while he resumed his spy work. He wouldn't do that to the poor child again.

Taylor wasn't paying attention, she was looking at the ground. Truthfully she did know somethings about Marcus and somethings that Snape didn't even know about. She looked up at him and noticed the expression on her face.

"What about it, Severus, where to first?"
