ThE GrEaT HaLlOwEeN DaRe: Part I unfinished
Prologue
Have
you ever been dared a dare so big it made you cringe? Well, if you have kudos.
If you haven’t please pay attention: I am about to tell you my story, you can
tell one! Got it? Good. Now where shall
I begin? The beginning perhaps? Then let’s begin.
It
was the thing that every one had to do. It wasn’t a thing, more an event. It
was like a calling card from a group of friends that told the whole town you
completed it. But, the mysterious thing about all of this is that many kids
would go missing.
Now
everyone knew about it. We were teased, warned and taught about this. We all knew
when we would all have to do it next year, all 8th grade students
did. And the better it was the more accept we were in high school.
But,
I had an advantage, me and my two best friends Heather and Noah had planned
this ever since 6th grade. What is this event you ask? This was a
Halloween Dare.
Chapter
I
It was a normal Friday, so normal in fact it was
boring: school, bus ride home, homework and of course TV. But today…today was different
not different-different. More like spine-tingling, scary house, Big Dare day
different.
Of course this was the day I have been
dreading for weeks. Today I forgot to look at calendar to confirm my fear today
in fact was October 30th, 2009. I right I was at school fearing the
worst, this how it began.
It
was just another boring day, in another boring lunch period. My friends and
were sitting away from everyone else at the very front table, away from every
one else as usual. We were also going over tonight’s plan.
“We
all know where to meet, right?” I asked for thousandth time today.
“Yes
Linz,” Noah
said shaking his head, irritated.
“It’s
so obvious, who wouldn’t know,”
Heather agreed.
“Alright
smarty pants what time are we meeting?” I questioned.
“Seven-thirty,”
they chorused, smirking.
“Ok
then whose going to do the dare?” I prodded
“Um… we haven’t even covered that yet,” Heather whispered, looking over her shoulder.
“Yeah
I would call that an ‘undiscovered topic’,” Noah agreed.
“Ok, so you still haven’t answered my question, who
is going to do it? I smirked at their fear.
“Not
me,” Heather shook her head, curls bouncing wildly.
“You’ll have to count me out on this too, but I’ll
bring supplies,” Noah offered
I
gaped at them in surprise, again. They
wanted to back out, now? After all the planning, preparation and five hour phone calls? This was supposed
to be a group thing, not a one-man-band thing. Then again when we did or wanted
do something fun I was the one doing it. I was the one hiking or cliff diving
while they watched. I was the one the one who asked Heather boyfriend out
because she was too nervous. I was the one who stayed up till 12:30am to fix and finish Noah’s science project for
him. And it looks like I had to do the dare too, just great.
“Fine, I guess I’ll do the Dare by myself,” I
huffed
“Sorry,” the muttered, looking down at the table.
“Whatever,” I said waving away their apologies with
my hand.
“But your still coming with me,” I said holding
there gazes.
They nodded their head too scared to speak.
“Talk to you guy later,” I muttered getting up from
the table to dump my tray. That when I started question myself. What if I do
get lost? Or what if go missing? What if-Stop! Stop doubting yourself, your brave and smart
you can do this. I encouraged myself. You have nothing to fear, and why are you
scared? To tell you the truth didn’t know why I was scared. I just thought this was the scariest thing I
would ever do or so I thought…
