LINGER? You lucky thing. I haven't got it yet, but I've been waiting for so long for it. Hopefully I'll get it today or tomorrow.twilighter3000 wrote:Yesterday I got these 2 books I've been wanting SOOOOOOOOOO badly!! One was Shiver, one of the most amazing books I've ever read, and then the sequel that just came out. And now I'm like halfway through Linger, hehe.
I'm not quite sure if I've joined yet, but I've posted here, haha.
I just got three new books yesterday. Sisters Red, Whisper, and Siren. They're all supposed to be really good.
Re: The Book Club
OMG, I know, I've had it on hold for FOREVER at the library, but then I saw it in the book store the other day and couldn't resist!! Haha.

I just got Linger! Wheeeee! I'm on page 70 already. ^^ And it's the hardcover, so all the text inside is green!
Re: The Book Club
Rawr. I'm so sad.
I read the last book of the three that Susan Beth Preffer wrote about the moon coming closer to Earth...

Except for the ending of the last one. Bah. I do like the AlexxMiranda pairing, though.
My copy of Shiver doesn't have blue text because it's a paperback. The weird thing is that after a hundred fifty pages the text doesn't look green to me anymore.

Not really, but names (In order, though you don't HAVE to read them in order) are
Life as We Knew it
The Dead and Gone
This World we live in

Re: The Book Club
Ugh, I just finished Linger.
- Spoiler:
-cries-This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf, and a girl who became one.
Re: The Book Club
OMG, I know!! I was like, "dude?! How can you do that?!" lol, and since you've finished it, here's my rant, haha:
- Spoiler:
- So. If you've read Twilight, you'll know what I'm talking about. Doesn't it remind you soooooooo much of it?! Like even when I read Shiver, the first thing I thought was, "wow, it sounds so much like Twilight!" And doesn't it?? Like the writing style, the plot, everything! ANDDD, my actual rant on the book is that there was like conflict from beginning to end, which bothers me. I mean, I don't want a boring book, but I liked the 1st one a lot cuz there were sweet moments that balanced out all the problems. But other than that, I thought it was awesome!! [I still like the first one better though]

Are those books good? I mean the shiver ones?
Oh and I need book suggestions. I'm like, kinda halfway through this one book I'm reading (The Warrior Heir) and I need books to look for at the library.

- Yeah, that's what I was thinking the whole time during Linger. I don't know if I got more critical or if Grace actually had a backbone in Shiver rather than acting like... idk, Bella Swan in Linger.
And then Sam was all overprotective. And even Twilight had a better antagonist, because as far as I could see the main problems were - a) Grace's parents. And b) Grace's super-special-feeling-in-her-gut-which-made-her-know-she-was-going-to-turn-into-a-wolf. I thought her parents weren't that bad, actually. I mean, even though they were distant... if you went into your daughters room at night and there was a GUY in there, wouldn't you sorta freak out? And it's not like they had any way of knowing Grace was going to love him forever and ever because I bet lots of teenagers say that and break up a week later.
And also, it seemed like Grace and Sam were getting annoyed with each other the whole time. It made me sorta think that the whole 'love' idea in Shiver was lust and it was just fading away.
But still, I give the book a 4-star rating. Mainly only because I've been a crazy Shiver-fangirl for the last 5 months and I'm not just going to say, Oh, I hated it.
Weeeell, while I think they're good, I'm not quite sure guys would really like the series. It's werewolves but sorta dumbed down (no fights or whatever) and a lot of talking. And a lot of romance. But you could still read them.Noah the Flood wrote:Are those books good? I mean the shiver ones?

Oooh, you could read my book blog! Or I could just tell you that Sisters Red is a really good book, but it's sorta new and both of the main characters are girls. And Perfect Chemistry is, too. And it's told with alternating perspectives (a girl and a boy) and I LOVE it, but I'm not so sure how much you'd like it. I tend to read books for girls, haha.
Re: The Book Club

- The first time I read through Shiver it reminded me of Twilight, haha. But maybe that's cuz I'm so obsessed with both. lol
YES. I mean, yeah, her parents don't pay the most attention to her, but I'd certainly freak out if there was a boy in my daughter's bedroom!! lol. Yeah, they didn't show their love enough in Linger to really make me feel they were as totally in love as they were in Shiver.
And yeah, I think they're amazing, but like Arianna said, I'm not sure if a guy would like them... Do you like Twilight, Noah?

Re: The Book Club
That sucks. I had to rearrange my books a few days ago 'cause I was out of space. But now they look nice. :3
I'm reading Pretty Little Liars now, online. If you go here and click on 'full versions' then it (and three other books) are there. I'm so glad I found it, because I only have two books left to read.

I should do something with my Redwall books... They take up more than a full shelf and I haven't touched them in a year and a half.

Re: The Book Club
You could always donate them. Or, you could do a book trade with someone. They have them on all these book blogs, but I can't take part because I don't live in the US. D: But generally people only want new-ish (publishing-wise) books. The library where we used to live let you give one of your books in and take another one, but usually the books were all old and stuff.
I wanna start reading Siren sometime. Pretty Little Liars is also pretty good. It's like The Clique with mystery mixed in. xD

Re: The Book Club
I don't really wanna give them away, though... Maybe I can find space in those four boxes of books I didn't want to give away last time I cleaned out my shelves. xD

Re: The Book Club
Are you going to read them again? Because if not, it might be smart to give them away. xD
I want more books. I also want an unlimited supply of money to buy them.

Re: The Book Club
I'm not broke, but I just don't like spending money. D: I know I'll have to spend it someday but... ugh. My parents said they're giving me 50 dollars to be e-books on my nook, though, and I'll also get 50 dollars to spend on whatever I want in the US. Plus, there's my birthday money... Still.
