"With my family - we have a house a few miles away from here, in Forks." He nodded slightly in the direction of his home. "If you wanted . . . you could come to stay with us, at least until you found a more permanent home. We'd need to ask Carlisle; he's our father, the one who changed most of us . . . but I'm sure he wouldn't mind." There was always room for more at their place, when it came to those vampires that didn't feed off of humans.

-----Jacob kept his thoughts silent, leaving Chloe to explain for herself when she wanted to or when someone asked. His mind made it clear that he already knew what had happened, though; there was no shock at her appearance, just a slight sense of relief that nothing had happened to her, though she'd only been gone a few seconds.

I sniffled, still cold. "Aro, could we discuss this at a later time? I don't think Amanda's going to hold up much longer." His hands were gripping my shoulders tightly, and I realized he was holding me upright. Coughing slightly, I looked up at Aro and said nothing. "Aro, they could stay here." Marcus said with no emotion.
She began to sway again, and I gripped her shoulders tighter. "Just a few more minutes Amanda." I whispered. She sneezed in reply. Looking at her in pity, Alec looked like he was about to fall to the floor in pain. What an actor.
"Please, Aro? She's in no mood to testify." Jasper glared, his face clearly stating that he was supposed to say that. As if just to annoy me, he gathered Amanda closer as she shivered. His lips brushed her hair, and my body convulsed. Jerk.

Yvette detected a hint of doubt present in his eyes and turned to Alexander.
"We don't need these people. We can manage on our own." She said.
"And risk exposure, Yvette? You left your pack to be with me, now here we have a chance to fit in again and you're willing to discard it. I don't agree. I think we should take this." He whispered back, kissing her gently. She nodded and walked back the way they had came to phase and hunt.
"We've decided to stay, though I'm sure you heard that. I'll come with you. Yvette will catch up later. I trust she won't find any trouble." He bore holes into the vampire's forehead with his stare.

She shares a smile as bright as Amaya's; she just rarely shows it. Once you earn her trust, she is a caring and kind vampire. It is very hard to get a secret out of her, you might even have to fight her for it-- and trust me, you don't want to fight Akane.

Jasper gripped me tighter than normal. "Jasper..." I muttered uncomfortably. He loosened his grip a bit, seeing the marks on my arm. "Sorry. Stress." He whispered. I brushed his cheek with the back of my hand. "I'm sorry. I don't like to stress you out." He chuckled. "It's not you baby. Calm down."

Caius spoke up, for once, "Did your neighbor not murder you in your human years?" he asked in his almost whisper-like voice. But even then, his voice was sharp and audible. "You would have bled to death, had we not sent Alec to save you. Is this not true?"

Cassandra nodded once, 'it is true." She confirmed in a quiet voice.

"Then that just proves that humans show no compassion to their own kind. Why should we show compassion to them, then?"
