A Warning
Ok, I've been seeing a lot of posts that have almost no replys. Well there's nothing "wrong" with any of the sites but if you want people to join you should make sure that it meets all the attributes of a good website:
1- Make sure It's not just a copy of the writer's guild. I know how tempting it is to think "the writer's guild is super successful, so if I make a young writer's forum it will be successful too!" But that's not always how it works, because everyone on the site has obviously already joined one writers site, most of us don't want to join another one.
2- Make sure it's finnished. No one wants to join a site that isn't.
3- Create something that you know people are interested in, but not an idea that's overused. A roleplaying site, isn't considered creative because so many people have made them. But if you make your roleplaying site drasticly different from other sites than people may want to join.
If you have any more ideas, please post them below, thanks!
*These aren't rules, they're just suggestions

Re: A Warning
How very true.
I must place emphasis number one. As hard as anyone tries to steal all of our users (xD), it's not going to work. Chances are, if someone is checking out the billboard, they spend a lot of time on Twig and aren't going to give it up. xD
As for the finished rule, I posted the thread for beta testers long before the site is finished? Why? I'm giving people sneak-peaks and spreading the word. xD

Re: A Warning
I agree with all three. This is a very helpful guide!
(And Twig isn't a ripoff of WI, but it started from WI, and that's how it started so great in the first place. Without WI it woulda failed. So chances are, anyone else who may read this, that if you take a tiny aspect of Twig that you don't like the situation of here and expand that into your own site, it would definitely work better than trying to make your own Twig.)

Re: A Warning
TWG is not a copy of WI, they look nothing like each other And the members are some of the handpicked awesome ones, a tiny fraction of the WI members.

Re: A Warning
That's true, Jade. Just because the members come from WI doesn't mean that it's like WI. xD

Re: A Warning
Yeah, exactly! xD If I was trying to make my own Webkinz site, I might not have got so many people . . .
But then again, not everyone was happy with the rules, so it possibly would've worked better. xD But probably not.

Re: A Warning
Probably not, WI has too many members, and even if the members don't like WI itself, they do like each other xD I've done a lot of stuff recently that's illegal on Wi *nods*

Re: A Warning
That's too true. I think a lot of them just stay because their friends are there... or they move to WT or WC, which are Twig-like sites. Handpicked awesome members.
*stops spamming topic... but hey, we're talking about the subject! xD*

Re: A Warning
Okay, well, I'm going to refrain from saying anything else so we can keep it more on-topic. xD

Re: A Warning
All the same, they're suggestions, not rules. If they were rules, they'd be in the Site Rules forum.

Re: A Warning
Gracias, Shadzies.
Yes, they are suggestions. Being a mod, Jade probably naturally calls stuff rules.

Re: A Warning
I created a forum SOMEWHAT like this one, it's just that the title and the layout is COMPLETLY different. It's only about role-playing, not writing.
Re: A Warning
Well then that's fine It's not like you have to check with us before creating your site, as long as it's appropriate.
And I messed up when I said "rule" still I thought I maid it pretty clear they were just suggestions...
