Half-Blood Haven Replacement

Tiffy moved over so he could sit next to her, but didn't look at him. She sighed heavily. "I don't hate you," she mumbled. "It's..." She exhaled, this time the sound was shaky. "I thought you'd hate me," she admitted with a little laugh. She winced at the curt sound of the laugh, however, and fell silent again.

He walked over and sat lightly next to her, reaching out a hand and slowly rubbing her back "I'd never hate you. I promise" he whispered.

Tiffy held his hand tightly in hers and leaned against him, a few tears flowing down her cheeks. She inhaled shakily again, and smiled weakly. "I'd never hate you, either," she mumbled softly. She shut her eyes. "What are we gonna do?" she asked after a moment, a soft sobing sound escaping her lips.

Jag moved so he could hug her, putting her in a position where she could lean against him better "I'll tell you what we are gona do" He whispered "We're gona have this baby, and we are going to be awesome parents" he muttered, kissing the top of her head.

Tiffy sniffled a little and then relaxed. She listened to him talk, and bit back the sharp, sarcastic remark of, 'We?' To be quite frank about things, she noted mentally, he didn't have to do anything now. He just had to sit and wait and watch. She was the one going through it all, wasn't she? But she didn't rant and she wasn't mean when she spoke; "Promise?" was all she mumbled, her eyse shutting as she curled up against him.

Jag was thinking while he sat there. Inside he was panicking. Mainly that Tiffy didn't believe in him, JJ was still gona kill him, and that he had no parental skills at all "I promise" He said

Tiffy, however was calmed. She trusted him completely and JJ, too. Plus, she thought, raising a kid couldn't be that hard, could it? Her uncle and aunt had raised all five of them, and they themselves had adopted them in when they were only in their early twenties; it couldn't be that hard, could it? She nodded a little, and smiled faintly. "Okay," she mumbled. She started to play with his hand. After a moment she asked, "Did you ever have any other kids?" The way Kam had spoke the other day, it seemed like this wasn't a rare event or something, Tiffy didn't know.

Jag thought for a moment, starring off into space as he absentmindedly rubbed her back "Yes" He finally answered, closing his eyes. His voice got to just below a whisper and he said "But he didn't live to be a month old"

Tiffy winced a little. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, shaking her head. "That's horrible..." She paused and added in her head, He must know how JJ feels. She was quiet for a little longer, and then took his hand. She slid it under her shirt and sweat shirt and onto the slight bump on her normally flat stomach. "I'm fat already," she told him, unable to hide the disgust from her tone.

Jag smiled, rubbing her belly lightly "Don't worry, you'll always be beautiful to me" He said, kissing the top of her head.

Tiffy smiled a bit, but then snorted softly. "But I'll be faaat," she moaned. "Fat is gross!"

"So? Only for a few months. Besides, you'll still be Tiffy" He laughed, kissing her nose.

Tiffy continued to make a face. She shrugged, but agreed, adding, "Yeah, yeah, I know, but...JJ said I'd have to wear maternity clothing. Eyugh!" She shuddered violently. "Do you know how hideous they are, Jag?"

"He probably doesn't, but I do," came a cold response from the door. In walked JJ.

"No I do not..." He muttered, looking away as JJ came in the room. He winced slightly, not visually, but physically, so Tiffy probably felt it.

JJ stood in his veiw, crossing her arms, tapping her foot. "Hi, Jag," she said, pursing her lips at first, then pulling them to a thin straight line.

Tiffy wrapped her arms around herself to keep Jag's hand hostage on her belly. She smiled calmly up at JJ. "Hi, sissy," she said. JJ nodded in response.

"Afternoon, JJ" He said, glancing at her. He still had one arm around Tiffy, and he wasn't going to move it.

"And you're here becaaaaause?" JJ asked bluntly, moving her hands to her lips.

Tiffy looked up at him, then to JJ. She opened her both, but couldn't say anything; she looked down and shut her mouth again.

"Because Tiffy is my girlfriend, who is carring my child. I'm going to stay by her side" He said, looking up at her with an emotionless face

JJ glared down at him silently for a long time. She said nothing. Slowly she shook her head. "If you even ever think of even doing something mean to her--like leaving her or something--you're going to eat my fist, understand?" She thought, Oh, his expression looks so passionate...not.

Tiffy smiled a little, at what both of them said. To JJ's response, she thought; Some things never change.

"I understand completly" Jag said with a nod, smiling and closing his eyes as he hugged Tiffy alittle tighter, resting his head ontop of hers and looking back at JJ

JJ shifted from foot to foot. Jealousy and vancansy filled her; she nodded a little, feeling out of place now, immensely. She sighed. "Alright, good. Tiff, after he leaves, come to my room, okay? I wanna show you somethin."

Tiffy looked up at her while snuggling into Jag. "Show me what?" she asked.

"You'll see." JJ smiled sadly, shook her head, and left.

"Alright sweety" Jag said (He often uses nicknames like that) after JJ left. He kissed her head "I've got to go, I've got a job in the clinic to help clean up and stuff" He got up and kissed her on the lips before leaving "Byee"
