fantasy - Other than them being people that can turn into animals & have a few animal qualities, none. I want their lifestyle to be pretty realistic (:

-Preface-

You wake up at night by reasons unknown. You look around and everything's the same. Same old covers, same secret collection of dolls or action figures, whatever it is that is hidden in that box underneath your bed. Oh, and of course that stain on your bedroom floor where your little brother spilled chocolate milk and then YOU got in trouble for yelling at him. Basically, everything's the same in your semi-average life. And right as you're about to doze off again you wonder to yourself, "Why is there a light outside my window when it's 2 o'clock in the morning?". So, of course, you trudge over to your window, aggravated by this nuisance that woke you up. But after pushing the curtains away and unlatching the foggy glass, you find yourself staring at two circular buggish eyes that look like they are made out of some sort of glass material. "Hello?" you call out wondering what this contraption is. As the "eyes" flicker a few times you finally come to your senses and realize that they're just head-lights to a car. "Wait what? How is there a car in my backyard? This isn't possible!" the questions sore through your head as you ponder about whether you are hallucinating or not. Ah child, if only you knew that your life was about to be changed in one of the most outstanding and adventurous ways ever.

You hear the car door open and shut as ruffled footsteps near you, and you feel a bit shaky but you don't turn back. Getting a flashlight out, you turn it on to reveal a girl that's around your age, so maybe 15, 16,maybe even 17. She has a heart shaped face and bright blue eyes that are outlined by her blonde hair, which that is tucked into a neat ponytail behind her. She is wearing a navy blue blouse with a skirt. The buttons on her cashmere blouse catch your eye for they seem to glow in the sprinkling moonlight. You also note the beret resembling hat that she has on, with pins in the shapes of wings and clouds on the side of it. All in all she looks like a pilot, a very pampered one at that. Really looking at her suit you realize that it is more defined than you thought, and now that she is just a few feet away you squint your eyes trying to make out the swirling letters. Finally, as the light catches them you read the word SECRET. Before you have any time to guess what it stands for she offers you a hand as her lips curl into a smile. "Will you be the only one boarding with us tonight?" You bob your head slowly and follow her in curiosity. Finally when you reach her supposedly "car" you realize that it is a blunt, stubby airplane. "I hope you enjoy the ride!" she chirps as she opens the door for you. Once you're inside you realize that there is a handful of kids riding with you. Finding the seat with your name on the back, you plop into it as your tray unfolds, revieling a broshcure. Clicking the pin attached to it, you being tracing over the questions. There are four in total and are a little more than easy.

After scribbling in your answers, you hand the stuartist your paper and with a stifling yawn your eyes droop as you doze off. A few hours later you wake up where you started, in your bedroom. You figure it was just a dream, but when you look down there are patterns trailing down your arms in your favorite colors. Looking into a mirror, these same designs outline your face. Gasping, you look down and find that a drawing of the head of your favorite animal is sketched onto your stomach. Running out of the room, expecting to be back in your house, but then once your open your bedroom door you are standing outside in summer air. And that's when it hits you... You are now on the Island of Secrets.

~Setting~

There is a desolate island located between Central North America and Africa, uncharted for reasons unknown. Maybe because it's secrets are too much for the human mind to comprehend, or maybe because they defy the rules of physics. Either way, it's exact location is unknown. This island is very exotic indeed, maybe for the best or worst of ways. It is outlined in a ring of steep mountainous land, making it unable to enter or leave without the use of a plain, or any other flying vehicle. This is the kind of place where the grass grows long, the air stays fresh, and the wildlife and civilization blend together. Now remember, nobody said that this would be easy...

To the Eastern part of the island is booming in vegetation. Rosie, the founder of the island, calls this Gardener's Peak. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, apples, bananas, spinach sprouts, cabbage, carrots, mangoes, and a few other foods grow here. The plants here have adapted to protect themselves from the birds, rabbits, and other herbivores of the island.

To the Southern part is a well sized salt lake. This is definitely the most tropical area. Vegetations overwhelms this area, covering everything in a vibrant layer of green, with such a large capacity that it's hard to see two feet infront of yourself, none the less walk. The whether here stays pretty mild year round, not including the sweltering summers. The days and nights seemed to be on an even ratio, and this whole area is moist. Exotic animals such as Margay's, Ocelots, parrots, water iguanas, and and tropical frogs are here.

The Western part of the island is more crisp and has the most effected seasons. Summers are warm with a soothing breeze, winters are blanketed in a sheet of ice, falls are colorful and dry, and springs are green and sprouting with life. Sounds like the perfect vacation paradise, correct? Wrong. This is also the most untouched land. This is where most of the island's animals are held, and Rosie is planning to keep it that way. Buffalo, mountain lions, big horned sheep, moose, rabbits, wolf packs, coyotes, ospreys, beavers, bobcats, owls, grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, foxes, and more live here. Most of these sound harmless, but with a buck of a bison you'll be soon to change your mind. There are a few active streams and freshwater lakes here.

The Northern part of the island is where the head remain. This includes Rosie and her soon to be five other counsel members. But don't feel threatened for they are not here to control you, they are here to keep the island in harmony, and in one piece. This is also where the Dining Hall is located, the place where everybody in the island eats breakfast and dinner at. This is also where the Spiritual Hall is held. This is a very unique place where Rose holds ceremonies to the island's newest members, where she will grant them the ability for them to willingly change their form into the animal that they chose. Oh, and don't forget the Ballroom, where all of the island's birthday parties, holidays, and mournful events are celebrated, or grieved over.

Finally, the Central part of the island is where all of the new recruits are held. There is a large fountain in the center, and 10 structures are built around it. Eight of these are lofts where the island's people sleep, not including Rosie's Counsel. Each loft has eight bedrooms in it, each one specifically designed for the desired person. Key pads with hand print activation is require, so that no theft occurs. However, the ninth structure holds a lounge where they can hang out. Couches, and the island's second TV are here. Also a few games are spread out around this shabby one-floor building. The tenth building is the island\'s clinic, along with the training room. The training room consists of gyms and obstacles to develop strength for those practicing in their animal forms. There are also water container held, so do not fret my aquatic friends. Activities such as swimming pools, archery grounds, soccer fields, and other physical activities are held here. Rose is sure to keep everyone in their best of shapes.

~Rules~

1. Please keep this roleplay realistic.
2. Yes, your character can turn into the animal that she/he chose.
3. When your character is a human, it may have a few animal characteristics such as ears, a tail, claws, etc.
4. You may choose up to four different colors for your character\'s markings.
5. Your character may only choose one animal at the beginning, but later on may expand with my permission.
6. Please follow all of the TWIG rules.
7. There will be no hunting live animals or other characters.
8. You must follow the main idea of the preface. No, it doesn\t have to be word for word, but just the same concept.
9. There may only be engadgements/marriages/pregnancies WITH my permission.
10. When you\'re out of character please use (( )), around your text.
11. Please P.M. me the sign up form. If I\'m not available please send it to Leah_Hope92. If we\'re both offline, then please hold on tight and be patient.
12. If you disagree with something about this board, please confront me about it, rather than complaining to other users..
13. When choosing your animal, there may only be one type each. However, there may be two different kinds within the same specis. For example a grey wolf and an arctic wolf. Keep in mind that if you choose a whale it may be harder to interact with land animals.
14. Leah_Hope92 is also a co-leader to this board, so listen to her. NEW - There are no restaurants or shops on the island currently. Please ask before starting anything.
15. If you had a character from this RP on BI, then you don't have to start over.
16. Your character stays in a small log-cabin resembling room. It has 2 beds, a closet, a dresser, etc. etc. The catch? They\'re sharing with a boy (;
17. There is no iPods, TV\'s, starbucks, phones, etc. on the island. For now.
18. Your charcter CAN NOT CAN NOT CAN NOT CAN NOT transform into an animal until they've gone throuh the ceremony with Rosie.

What\'s New -

Surprise Surprise! Rosie has completely whiped out the ENTIRE council(not including he brothers) and is starting fresh. Now thanks to Alexis & Jake for finding the Heart of the Island(an icy blue crystal in the shape of a heart) each NEW member of the council will have the power of an element. Here are the powers available to the members(only one each) -

Side Effects -

Okay so we\'re going to try to bring back the whole \'Side Effects\' thing.

1. When changing back from an animal to a person, you person will become REALLY drousy and most likely, pass out.

2. If your character does not go to the training room at least twice a week(on days that you\'re roleplaying, of course), then there WILL be consequences. The next day at the most random time their arms and/or legs will become inactive. This will last from ten minutes to four hours, depending on how evil you are to your characters (;

3. If your character doesn\'t transform at least once a day into an animal, there will also be consequences. The next day your character will have random animal parts in their human form, ones that they don\'t normally ave. For example if your person was a cat, they may have furry arms or a sand paper tongue(ew I know! Razz

). On top of this, at random momens they will have the \'vocal chords\' of their animal. So they can only bark, chirp, etc.

Personality: Rosie is a very difficult sole to read. She is often gentle and kind, but can also snap at you and be overly passive of her surroundings. Often she wanders outward, forgetting her place in line. All in all she's very mysterious and calls others towards her.
Description: She has a heart shaped face with rich, pale, skin that has an inner glow to it. Her eyes are bright and both an attractive deep blue that carries soul and wisdom in it. When making eye contact with someone, and they seem to sink into yours, as if all of her attention is triggered onto you. Her hair is ravens black and is straight until her jawline, where it flows into several waterfall curls. Her two strips of hair that outline her face are a vibrant turquoise color. Where her curls start there is also streaks of turquoise blending in with them... Her lips are also always pursed and a dark, blood-rich red. They are naturally curled at the corners as if she\\\'s constantly wearing a dainty, maybe even smug, smile. The markings on her face start off as a deep black and are very unique. Two long streaks of black protrude from her inner cheeks, and then veer outwards branching off at the tops and bottom of her face, on both sides. Between the upper and lower black streaks, a rigid turquoise, navy blue, and white fill them in, resembling a blue jay\\\'s open wings. Her arms and legs have a more swirled marking and chnge colors from black, to light blue, to navy blue, and then to black. The swirls resemble messy wind streaks. Also, openly visible from her dress are two wings that go from her shoulders to her ankles. They are a mixture of sky black, aquamarine, and a navey blue and are outlined in an inky black. There is also slight white and black streaks in them, but are hardly visible since her wings are always tucked neatly behind her. Her posture is graceful and she holds confidence and pride at each step.
Animal Chosen: Blue Jay
Markings and Colors: On either side of her face are patterns resembling a blue jay's wings. Also has swirls over her legs and arms that are black. Blue patterns outline her shoulders and back, covering up her previous scars.
Talents: An amazing acrobat, ecspecially in the sky. Rose was born with a sense of leadership which helped her greatly in the long run.
Mishaps:She can sometimes forget her place in line. Also, she would rather turn everything into a maze or riddle, which aggrivates people a little too easily. Her attention span is short and she is known for having sponatenous mood swings.

Description: Long, wavy, thin, light blonde hair that shines like the sun in the light. Misty blue-gray eyes with curved pink lips that look like it has been dotted with lipgloss. Eyebrown like thin, delicate little bird wings with cream colored skin. A bit over average height and thin, size zero in jeans, and weighs 101lb, a bit under the average weight. She seems to fit in with her weight though, and it's not like you can see her rib cage through her skin. A perfectly straight nose.
Personality: Always finds compromise, adaptable. Loves grain, lily of the valley, spring flowers and pomegranates. Does not take into account the wants and needs of others. Rational, intelligent, a powerful defender and arbitrator. Most people come to her when they have problems. Clarissa is very mischevious and desiving but is also girly and loves to hang out and gossip with friends. She's the kind of laid-back girl but also very alert and organized at the same time. Very odd. She's not pushy but likes things done so she has times to herself. Can be a bit lazy sometimes.

Name: Amanda Cypress
Age: 15
Gender: female
Description: She has curvy, or wavy, chocolate brown hair, complete with topaz eyes. She has plump lips, usually shining from always putting lip gloss on. She doesn't wear exactly girley things, but not anything sport-ish either. She has her own style I guess you could say. She has a heart shaped face, and tanned skin. Just tan to where she's not pale though. She does have bangs sometimes, she's grown them out, but will sometimes have bangs thrown to the side. She's not exactly short but not tall either.
Personality: Amanda is overall nice, but she has has her moments. She can have a short temper at bad days, when she has no patience. Sometimes she may be a bit insecure due to her past, and will do anything to get it off her mind. She's pretty nice overall, and pretty energetic. Though she might be all this, she can get a bit bossy sometimes, but not much. She's very independent, and notices the little things before the big. She's stubborn, and likes to draw good or surprised attention to herself.

History: So she was living the "awesome life" in Malibu, her hometown. Her parents were rich, she had a great brother (Matt) and a great sister (Isobel). They were both a few years older than her. When Matt reached the age of 18 he went off to some mysterious place, never being seen again, In which everybody thinks he's dead. And Isobel, was always there for her sister. Even when things got pretty tough, such as when their Mom died after they had recieved a letter saying Matt was probabley dead and nowhere to be found. The night she died she gave both of them a golden heart necklace. Months later Isobel had gone to a party with her friends. Amanda, of course was asleep. 'Till she saw the bright light from her window, it was obviously the plane to go to the island. So she agreed, not really caring where this led her to. And now she's here! (:
