Twig to MyBB

Well, basically, Twig's (most likely) gonna be converted some time this year. It probably won't happen until the domain name (shadowsowner888.forumotion.net) expires, which is going to happen some time around the end of summer, so we have time. xD Essentially, what I'm trying to say here is, do you guys wanna do it? It's your site too, after all.

Nothing would be removed. Ari will be running this program that converts Twig to a different kind of forum; while any posts made while she's doing it will not be saved - I'll let you know when it happens, so you can save whatever you'd need to - anything else that's already in place will still be there on the new version of Twig. I'd switch our blogs to normal posts so they'd switch and any polls would be lost, but all threads and posts will remain in place.

The reason we think this is a good idea is because MyBB is more customizable than PhpBB, which is what we're using now. Some of you have complained about things that we can't change here, for example, the notification page you see after posting. That would be gone with MyBB. There's also options to have multiple themes to choose from, multiple calendars, there's no limit to posts in a thread or characters in a post, and it'd be faster and up more often than Twig is now. (Cus I don't know about you, but I'll find laggy moments every once in a while. xD) The rep system sucks, but there's some sort of mod for that, so we could make it more like what we have now. xD Aaand . . . well, that's all I can think of, but I'm sure there's a lot more great stuff.

This is not the official version of Twig or anything, but feel free to make an account (is that okay, Ari? xD) and try it out to see if you like it better.

So, let me know what you think. Good idea? Not? I'm going to definitely take whatever you say into account, so if most of you would prefer not to switch, than we don't have to.

This would be awesome for TWIG. I say definitely yes.

I say no. My dad might not let me go on Twig, if we change it over. Sorry.

All right, Mia. I can see how that would be a problem, so thanks for posting your opinion! ^^ Would it help if we were to use the same URL, though? I've been meaning to bring that up with the mods, just for the sake of something more professional . . . but if we waited for it to expire, then we could simply use it again on the new version of the site.

Partially.. but my dad might complain because of the appearance change. And I'm still not sure if ALL my friends would be able to handle a change. Some have parents who won't allow it. [Genny]

A) I don't want to have to either stop posting or save all my posts for a day. xD And

You wouldn't be joining again, you'd just be logging in with a temporary password and changing it.

My mom said I can change over if you change it. I told her it would be the same thing, just it would have a different domain name. She said it's fine. So, I guees, if it comes down to changing it, I say yes.

But I don't want Mia to leave. T.T

We're still waiting on her response on what her dad's exact rule is. I have a feeling that switching to MyBB wouldn't present a problem for her. ^^
