Disney Movies and Life
This is about all the new Disney stuff, like Starstruck, Camp Rock, HSM, HM, ect.
Every single time, it has the same plot. A boy and a girl like each other, and then one of them makes a huge mistake/ chooses something over the person, and then the other one gets mad at them. They go do whatever the choice was, then realizes they made the wrong choice, running back to the boy/girl, who forgives them and life becomes happy-dandy again. But that's now life. Sometimes, people don't forgive you. Sometimes, people don't realize they made the wrong choice. It doesn't always work like that.
So think about this.

Re: Disney Movies and Life
I'm not a great fan of Disney.
Especially because my brother and sister have literally watched HSM THIRTY TIMES in the last month. -.- That's enough to make anyone hate Disney for life.
I like Disney TV shows. They're funny. But the movies are disappointments.

Re: Disney Movies and Life
If Walt Disney was brought back to life ad saw Disney today, I think he'd stab himself.
Disney shows and movies and everything are soooooo repetitive and cliche, like you said. And now he theme seems to be superstars or whatever that fall for a small town boy/girl. Or, a bunch of friends that somehow become famous/make a band/are actresses or actors. Examples:
Hannah Montana
Big Time Rush (oops. not a disney show. *talks to self* smoooooth, me. >.>)
JONAS
Sonny With a Chance
and it goes onnnnn and onnn and onnnn. >.> And then they go off thinking that if you can act or sing, you can do both! They really need to learn that not everyone is fantastic at everything, and you can only edit a voice so much.
Bleh. I ranted too much. xD

Re: Disney Movies and Life
I agree with you both, Forry and Amanda. I've been considering similar things about Disney lately. xDD They are repetetive lately, and need a healthy does of reality . . . I ranted on A Cinderella Story about that in my last blog. xDD
Re: Disney Movies and Life
I. Agree. Completely...
Also,
What happened to the good CLEAN shows.
As in, no kissing, and stuff.
I mean, Disney is for ages 1 and Up.
Would it be good for a five year old to really be watching "I really like this boy and we dated before and now he's back and now we kissed and... "blah blah blah.
Sorry....I ranted!

I know, a think a lot of kids are getting the idea that it's Ok to shape your life around someone you like. Setting unrealistic expectations for life in general Not the best influence. Yeah, i bet walt would stab himself if he was brought back to life xD

Re: Disney Movies and Life
Bah.
and then there's this mean girl or jerk boy in every movie that causes all the trouble, and in the end they turn good and are all sorry, or they just get pushed into a truck full of mud/a pool, and in the sequels, THEY ALWAYS COME BACK.
Even if they turned nice!

Re: Disney Movies and Life
Warning--this is going to be one big la-dee-dah post. Open the spoiler at your own risk.
- Spoiler:
- As much as I agree with you all... There's a reason behind all this, if Disney's like every other thing I'm thinking of.
Disney is a company--particularly one that's pretty much based on kids 18 and under. They're the ones that shape what's really popular, and if something isn't popular they're likely to go "EW that's like so totally gross!" and find something else awesome. Disney, being a company, wants money. The minority of the public is pretty much ignored if it keeps them going. So they go with what's popular. Unfortunately, a lot of people still find all you're complaining about entertaining and never getting old, perhaps.
Sure there are the little kids. However, Disney has Playhouse (or whatever they call it now) and the classics to keep them busy until they mature. I wouldn't be surprised if they're thinking something like, "If a five year-old is watching something they probably shouldn't be, that's the fault of the parent(s)."
In addition, people know this stuff doesn't happen in life. In fact, the exact opposite happens every day. But sometimes people want to get away from the terrors of life. People want to believe fantasies are out there. Problems can be solved within an hour and a half. It just makes some people happy.

Re: Disney Movies and Life
You know what Cyn, that is true . . . cus after all my whining, I do still like watching some of this stuff. xDD Like, A Cinderella Story gave me an adrenaline rush cus was all, "That's gonna happen to me too!"
I still do wish they could come up with a few more original movies, though.

Re: Disney Movies and Life
Lol, yeah, it keeps me dreaming too. Except I haven't watched that movie.
Yeah, something.... Say, do you know if The Last Song is a Disney movie? If so, add another to the cliche list. xP

Re: Disney Movies and Life
I don't think TLS is, because isn't it more of a Nicholas Sparks movie, like The Notebook or A Walk to Remember?
Re: Disney Movies and Life
IDK... But I'm looking it up now. *goes to IMDb*
Yup, Nicholas Sparks. I know this is off-topic, but has anyone else noticed how weird Miley looks in that poster? *psst... here be a link to it*

Re: Disney Movies and Life
Exactly. I am anti-Disney, but mainly the modern, Disney Channel stuff. Not like the older, classic, Disney movies. Basically, anything you don't see now is good. The shows that were on like 6 years ago were good (That's So Raven, Kim Possible, The Proud Family, etc.). But it's like all of the new stuff has been made for a different audience. And all the Disney stars have to have an acting AND singing career, and are promoted so widely that you can't help but notice them. The current stuff is all romance, and they try to add fake, cheesy comedy in, where-as the older stuff was just comedy/whatever genre. I personally think that a star in one thing should stay there (i.e., The Jonas Brothers. I liked their music a little, little bit when they first came out, but they would have been better if they stayed singing. Disney shouldn't have made them guest star on shows, then do Camp Rock, then start a whole TV show. I've never seen it, but (no offense) my dad says they can't act at all on that show).
And mini-rant over. Once I get started on one thing, it takes forever for me to stop.
