Comatose, a tall, black-haired fourteen-year-old with white streaks in his hair, stood silent on the beach. He wore a long black T-shirt, and ripped jeans.

Celeste heard somebody moving and turned around to a see a boy about her age standing there, staring into the water. She flipped her carmel colored hair out of her face.

Comatose heard someone behind him, and turned. A girl. Maybe his age. Not an eraser, though . . . he had never seen one that young. All the better.

I just simply waved at the boy and smiled a little. My nose stud glinted in the sun.

Comatose lifted a hand, a little. Maybe a mutant. Maybe not. Hard to tell. He shuffled his wings under his leather jacket.
