I'll exhale imsorry's and illtryhardernexttime's,
but I won't really mean it while I inhale neveragain's and tuck
them between my faded wrist-bones.
It's not that you're close is that I can't flick an eyelash
and make a wish without you breathing volcanoes down my neck.
Never Mind has become my mantra,
but it only parades in my head.
I find it hard to believe that itsjustbestforyou is the only motivation;
what I can believe is that my ankles
will snap if I walk any longer.
When will you ever realize that my shoulder-blades are
irrevocably tied to my tongue?
I doubt you will ever understand when I whisper of
faeries and tattered spider-webs that enclose and ensnare.
I doubt you will ever understand at all.
