~Don't Stop Believing~
Prologue
A small girl sat on a bench near the bus stop, watching the cars pass by. She glanced at her butterfly-shaped watch; 9:56. She sighed heavily and drummed her fingers on the rusting bench. She was getting restless- after all, she had been sitting there for more than five minutes! She looked at her watch again, but to her great disappointment, it wasn't 10:00 yet. She was about to get up, when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. Her chocolate brown eyes grew wide and she looked behind her quickly, hoping it was her father. But alas, it was not. Instead, it was a policeman, who looked about 30, and he was walking towards her. Disappointment overwhelmed her, and she choked back tears. The man sat down next to her, and looked her over. "Why are you out here at such an hour?" He asked softly. "Waiting." Was her cold reply.
"For whom?"
She looked up at him, her long auburn hair slipping down her back, "My father."
"Where is he?"
She hesitated, "Sydney. You know, in Australia." She lied.
"How old are you?"
"Ten." She was six.
The man chuckled to himself about at this, but did not comment on it, "What's your name?"
"Janie."
"And your last name?"
"Griffin."
"Well, then, Janie, where's your mother?"
"She's gone." She said bitterly, "Left me and Taileph to die."
"Who is Taileph?"
She looked him in the eye and said slowly, "My dragon."
Chapter One
I sat at the bus stop. The same bus stop I sat at eight years ago. The same bus stop where the cop laughed at me, and thought I was just a stupid little girl. The same bus stop where the cop tried to take me away, but failed. The same bus stop where I had last seen my father. The same bus stop where my mother had left me. The same bus stop where I witnessed my only chance of going back home to Artheania ripped away from me. The same bus stop where my life changed forever. What was I doing there, you ask? The same thing I was doing when I was six: Waiting for my father. I knew that he wouldn't come back, but if I stopped believing that he would, I would stop believing that my homeworld ever existed, and that would be a horrible thing. Every day I sat at that stop for an hour, waiting. Just waiting. Then, when that hour passed, and people came for the bus, I would leave to go to my apartment. Yeah, I was only fourteen, too young to live by myself, but I acted and looked older than I really was, so faking people out wasn't a problem. Usually. I was much smarter than your average Joe, so I didn't have any need to go to school. For money, I worked at a cafe near the bus stop, and a Subway near my home. They paid well enough for a small, run-down apartment, and for food and other necessities. So I was happy- Well, as happy as a girl who had no one to take care of her, or anyone to care of could be. Anyway, on this particular morning, I was sitting as I usually did, with my dark blue beanie covering my wavy red hair, and my fingers crossed, trying to look as casual I could. But out of the corner of my eye, I saw something, something that made me jump. Something called fire.

How is that the Epilouge is it's the beginning of the story? The epilouge is supposed to be at the end of the story. Just pointing that out.
