I heard a knock on the door, so I yawned and got up. Already dressed, I unlocked my bedroom door and headed downstairs. "Idiot," I said to myself. "I have hands." I unlocked the door and Autumn, one of my besties, came shooting in. "Your psycho short boyfriend finally left. Good God." she grabbed my hands. "Lace up your shoes, Juliet, we're going to school." I grabbed my bookbag, which had been packed over the summer, and headed out with her. We walked to school to avoid Jonathan.

Jonathan sighed as he reached the school. Even if Liz had gotten out somehow, he would know. She had all the same classes as him, and he knew that she wouldn't just skip.

I went into my math class, a little less enthusiastic than Autumn. She patted the empty desk next to her and I sat in it. She poked my shoulder. "Why isn't he letting you come to school? Do you have like, a terminal disease?" "No," I sighed. Then I whispered in her ear; "I'm pregnant."
