I smiled at the brute. "I'll just call you Cal for short," I said, guessing his nickname. I layed down in the shade as they dicussed what kind of test I would be taking. I grinned. "Is that the best test that you two brutes can come up with? I did that on my way here." I paused. "What kind of prey do you want me to bring back?"

Adriano looked at her, then back at Callous. "A deer? Or..what..?" he asked, completely out of ideas.

Alexia smiled. "I'm sure Crow was very beautiful herself," she replied, nodding.

"She was," Leafe murmured, thinking about Crow. "Anyway...what was your mates name? Did you have any pups?"

"My mate was Verde. He was very handsome, you kind of remind me of him." Alexia grinned. "But, we did have pups..They were..given to my old Medicine wolf, Silver, who still has them, I hope. Anyways, I had a girl and three boys; Rosetta, Stone, Bider and Alex."

Leafe nodded, his tail-tip twitching. "I bet they were beautiful pups. This Verde...you loved him very much, didn't you?"

"I did, very much," replied Alexia, sighing longingly. "I just hope that, someday, a wolf, just like him, that I've fallen madly in love with, will have the guts to say, 'Alexia, I love you with all my heart and all my soul.' Well, or..half-wolf, half-husky." She smiled. "You never know with these woods. Crazy things come out all over the place." She nudged Leafe playfully.

"Nice guess," Callous remarked, although he suspected his nickname wasn't too particuarly hard to guess. "Oh, something big. Deer's always good. Pheasants are sometimes tricky to catch as well. But it's really Adriano's decision."

Callous' jaws gaped in a huge yawn, as he waited for Adriano's decision. It'd be fun if she met up with an Upper Coldwood wolf. He thought, curling his tail around his paws. Then we can see what kind of fighter she is, too. But I can already guess she's the type I'd rather have on my side. One of his ears twitched as a leaf drifted down past his head. The other one was less responsive after he'd lost half of it.

Callous tried hard to prevent his ears from flattening back in embarassment. Er...here comes the question. thought Callous, debating on how to answer. Obviously he wasn't going to tell the full story, but a lie seemed cowardly, so Callous compromised for a condensed version.
"I don't like telling the story much," Callous admitted,"But I will tell you I injured myself in a fight. Rest assured though, the other wolf came off with wounds worse than this one."

"I'm sure everyone's got a story like that," agreed Callous. Or two. Or three. I wonder what secrets Adriano has got hidden up his pelt? Deciding to make some conversation, he casually asked," So, what brings you to this neck of the woods, anyhow?"

I smiled and shrugged. "I go all over the place. I didn't know about either packs here, so I ran into Alexia after catching some lunch. We had a little . . ." I laughed. "Conversation. She told me to get off her land and that I needed to find Lower Coldwood. So I left with my food, starting eating and out of nowhere I see a big black wolf coming up to me and he told me that his name was Adriano."

Callous nodded, "Sounds a little like me, sin the run-in with Alexia. I was minding my own business, then I found Adriano. I had to catch the biggest buck in the forest to join the Pack," he told her.

Alexia smiled lightly at Leafe. She nuzzled him in a friendly manner. "Ah, who said anything about teasing?" she asked playfully.

Adriano weighed his choices, then trotted over to Fotia. "I want you to bring me back, number one; a grizzly bear cub and, number two; the paw of the mother grizzly. Sound manageable?"

Callous looked at Adriano curiously," A paw? That's pretty creative. Not sure I'd like that test very much." But it's not my test, he thought, almost smugly, It's miss I-already-took-on-the-biggest-buck's test. He swished his tail, waiting to hear Fotia's response.
