The Day We Met
Click clack My tennis shoes hit against the concrete ground. I had begged my mum to take me to the park. "Are we there yet?" I asked. "Not yet, Isabelle." She sighed, probabley because it's my 5th time asking. You may think I'm five, but to me, that's an insult. No, I'm seven. As you can see, my name is Isabelle. Isabelle Satoes, and I live in Great Britian. I loved here I lived, Daddy owned a big garden. It was beautiful. Everyday I would play and run around, but it wasn't fun to play alone. Not at all. Just then as we turned the corner I could see a big oak tree, where the park was. "THE PARK!" I yelled in happiness, running ahead. "Isabelle!" My mother came running after me, but the park was where I was going. ANyone strolling around in my way I would push, which my mom said wasn't very lady like. I kept running and running, but I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. Just then I saw the swings, and could hear children laughing and playing. "The park." I mumbled to myself. My mom was panting, clutching my shoulder. "Don't do that again, hun" She stated, but tried not make it sound like a scold. She didn't do that very good of a job. "We're here!" I smiled, and walked to the entrance. "Yes, we're here." She smiled, giving the slightest laugh. The first thing I did was get on the swings, my favorite. Next to me was a boy, about me age. "Hi.." He muttered, he was very shy. "Um.. hi.." I replied back, giving yet the same shy act. "I'm Isabelle..." I muttered, wondering if I should be the one to say my name first. "Ryan.." I nodded slowly, what to say... "So, where you live?" I asked to break up the silence. I just hated silence, it was the worst. He told me his street and everything. "Hm. I live on the same street. We have the big garden.." I shrugged, and swung my legs back and forth, trying to get higher. "Oh. I've seen your house.." I nodded, unsure of what to say. "I have to go. See you around." I waved goodbye. Ryan... such a simple name. I thought as we ran off to his dad. For the next few months we had been playing together, you know, as playmates. We jumped on the trampoline, and had good times as best friends. One day, a few weeks after I had turned eight, I went running to my mom to ask her if she'd walk to his house with me. "You can go by yourself, hun." She said as I ran out the door. I slammed it, and ran down as if I already knew I could go by myself. MInutes later I was running back, no one had answered the door. When I had told my mom about this, she simply said, "I think his mom said he had cancer."
