Vampire Books
Well, so, my mom has finally given me permission to start reading vampire books besides Twilight. I asked her in a vague way that will allow me to read virtually any vampire book from this point on, thanks to her "yes." >:3
So, I'm here to ask for a list of recommendations. Cus I know there's some popularish series, at least popular on Twig, and I have a small list of them but I want to make sure I have everything I've been hearing about. So, can you all please recommend some good books/series about vampires? ^^
Answers as soon as possible would be great, as I'm hoping to go to the library tomorrow. :3

Re: Vampire Books
I've never read the House of Night series, though I've heard they're really good. Maybe you should try them out. :3
And, of course, I've gotta recommend Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. So far, there are five books in the series, one that recently came out on May 18th. The final book - Last Sacrifice - comes out on December 7th, I think. Anyway, the series is incredibly epic - you should definitely read it. ^^

*writes down* There, we're good. Lol, Vampire Academy does sound extremely epic. XD I'm very much looking forward to finally being able to read it.
Re: Vampire Books
Vampire Diaries! Their awsome books umm 1st of all there are two types of the books! There are the books that are famous for Vampire Diaries um the books with the 2 books combined athe first book of the series looks like this:
The second book loks like this:
And So on and So on...

Re: Vampire Books
VampireAcademyVampireAcademyVampireAcademy! They're my current favorite books (obviously). Besides that, I like House Of Night, Vampire Diaries, (By L. J. Smith. I forget the authors for the rest, and I don't feel like going upstairs to check) Morganville Vampires series, Vampire Kisses, and I'm reading the Vamps series now, which is pretty good. Oh, and the Night World series, also by L. J. Smith. That has other fictional creatures (witches, werewolves, shapeshifters, etc.) but still has a lot of vampires.
Oh, and if you want to watch the Vampire Diaries TV show (it's pretty graphic) make sure you read the books first, because the TV show is very different from the books. Very different.

Uhmm....like others have said, Cirque Du Freak and Vampire Academy..
The Vladmire Tod series..
The Mortal Instruments isn't exactly vampires, but it has some vampires in it.

Re: Vampire Books
The House of Night series is really good, as Ave mentioned. Personally, I have yet to finish it (every single book to the series, none of my own, is sitting in my room, hehehe). It's kind of on the more, mmm, mature side, but it's still very good. Filled with twists one wouldn't necessarily expect. [:
I also like the fact about the series that it's written by a mother and daughter duo. Just felt like throwing that out there!

Oh, Cirque de Freak! I've been wanting to read those for a while. Definitely gotta write that down. Thanks, Hyro!
Vladimire Todd! :3 I wanted to read that too! And I'll definitely check The Mortal Instruments out. Thanks!
Oooh, really, DL? That just makes it sound even cooler.

Re: Vampire Books
House of Night (very good, and there's enough books already out to keep you going for awhile. Interesting and always keeps the story going.)
The Night World books (there's 3 in a book, and I think there's 3 books so far, I like it a lot.)
Eighth Grade Bites, Ninth Grade Slays etc. (AKA Vladmir Tod) (I love this a lot, it's got the right balance of humor and story.)
If you like manga...
VAMPIRE NIGHT!!!! OMG. YOU MUST READ NAO.

Re: Vampire Books
That makes me even more interested in Vladmir Tod - I do love humorous books.
I'll add Vampire Night to my list! But just to make sure, you didn't mean Vampire Knight, did you?

Re: Vampire Books
Yep, it's a manga. Don't watch the anime, the manga is best.
And I did mean Kuh-night. xD

Re: Vampire Books
Ohh, okay. XD So I don't need to write that down again. I'll take your advice on that, then, for the time being. And wait impatiently for my library to actually have the first one. Cus I did look for it earlier, but they didn't have it . . . only some of the later ones.
Re: Vampire Books
Night World is really good, but it has a lot of witchcraft in it as well that I couldn't stand- summoning people from the dead and such. *shudder* It's freakish, but the other parts are good.

Re: Vampire Books
I second Amanda. Night world is an amazing series! Although, the witchcraft in there doesn't bother me, personally. XD It's not black magic, so nothing to worry about. And there's shape-shifters in that series too, Shad'! Just like you!

Re: Vampire Books
. . . my gosh. XD Now I have to make a horrible decision about whether to read it.
They did have that in Eragon, and I'm allowed to read that . . . so maybe . . . hmm . . . yeah, what the heck, I'm still gonna read it. xD

Re: Vampire Books
Well, there's also a manga called;
Record Of A Fallen Vampire
Or something like that. I only managed to read the first book 'cause my friend lent hers to me. But it was pretty good. (:

Re: Vampire Books
Oh my gosh, Dracula, of course! I've been wanting to read that for forever!
That sounds cool, Mia! Our library doesn't have that one, I'm afraid (yeah, I know its manga selection way too well), but I'll write it down in the hopes I can look for it somewhere else.

Re: Vampire Books
Here are some that I haven't read, but I heard that they are good:
Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
Blue Blood (series) by Melissa De La Cruz
High School Bites by Liza Conrad
And people have already said the rest of them. (:
It's really cool that your mom is letting you read these now!!

All the public libraries where I live [I checked the websites] have only the first book. D:
Re: Vampire Books
Cool, Pugs! ^^ Thanks for the recommendations! Blue Bloods is definitely one of those ones I'd heard about and had been planning to read, so thank you especially for reminding me about that one.
And lol, isn't it?
Oh, ugh, Mia. I hate when they do that! I've read so many awesome manga that the library never gets the second to . . . *shakes head*
