Becca sat with her siblings at the lunch table, pretending to eat. "How do humans eat this?" she asked them. "It's such crap." "You were a human once too, Becca." "But I didn't eat this crap, Life."

I walked into the cafeteria, deciding where to sit. I hate being the new kid at school, you have no friends. Not that I didn't mind the quiet, however. I walked to the back of the lunch room and sat at an empty table. I realized that many people were staring at me as I walked along. Even as I sat I felt people's eyes hot on my back.

Eventually I pulled an apple from my backpack and took a juicy bite slowly, savoring the flavor. When I glanced up, I noticed a table of people. Yes, I know, ironic there would be a table of people in a cafeteria. What I noticed was that everyone went out of their way to not walk or sit near them. They looked like models, and many people stared at them in awe.

I noticed a new pair of eyes staring at me, and looked in the direction they came from. It was one of the kids at the table I had noticed, and she was beautiful. I caught her gaze, then quickly looked down at my apple and took another bite. That was odd, I thought.

A deep growl came from her chest as she turned away. "Life...just once?" "No, we made a promise." Becca stared at the kid again, trying to inhance what he felt. Scared possibly? She didn't know. All she really knew was what to think of herself, killing him. Just for blood.

Once I finished the apple, I stayed in my seat staring off into space. New schools always brought grief, for what reason I don't know.

Her eyes continued to stare as Life tugged on her arm. "Stop it." I whined, breaking my focus. "Well then stop staring Becca." "I-I can't....his blood smells so sweet...different."

Once the bell rang, I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door for my next class, Chemistry. After a minute of confusion, I entered room 402 and took the designated seat that my teacher assigned me. There was nobody in the seat beside me yet, so I had no Chemistry partner. That, or the person wasn't here yet. I took out my chemistry text book and lightly put it on the table.

I looked up and saw one of the girls from the cafeteria table. Man, she was beautiful. Was she my partner? I looked around to see all the other tables full. Yup, she was. I tried to surpress a smile as I looked down at my book.

I looked over to the girl, who seemed either terrified or trying to resist something. "Hey, I'm Dane. New, if you hadn't noticed." I said softly with a big smile.

She didn't reply, but instead was acting wierd. I turned my head back toward the teacher with a frown and decided to ignore this wierd girl after all.

The bell rang. Life went to the middle of the hall and waited for his sister. Kyle was hitting on a couple of girls and Alicia hit him constantly.

"Life...help me..." was all Becca could say before crying into his chest.
