Best Friends ~ A Poem/Song/Thingymabob By Myself

I was just sitting around when I heard my little sisters start to sing to, You Belong With Me....It reminded me of my crush, and seconds later it found myself writing. Posted this on the Boy Lover's Club, and shadow suggested I make a thread for it, so here it is....Hope you enjoy it. =)


Best Friends

Whenever you're near,
My heart starts to flutter
Quiet violently.
I feel light and happy,
Like nothing in the world
Could bring me down.
We exchange a few words,
Your smile distracting me
The entire time.
Then we go our separate ways.
Best friends.

I wanna be more than that,
I want you to hold me tight,
Kiss me,
Tell me it'll be alright,
When I'm down and crying.
I want you to be the one
That my heart aches for
Every day and night.
But that won't ever happen,
Because we're just best friends.

I call you every once in a while,
If it weren't for my pride
It'd be every day.
We talk until my throat feels dry,
Laughing at almost everything you say.
Finally you mention a girl,
Who seems perfect for you,
And I think,
What about me?
But I tell you how sweet it is,
And I wish you good luck.
And we hang up.
Best friends.
