Mai nodded before she looked at her watch. Good and bad. There was still so much time, and they hadn't walked far at all. It made her feel like a drag to the intimidating masked ninjas. She was definitely keeping them lagging.

Sogekihei could tell of at least one of the preventable things that was bothering Mai. She, having no reason but a silent and easily bendable pact to keep too, took off her ANBU mask. Her large, bright jade eyes shined bright as her scruffy blond hair appeared.

Mai nodded. "Well, I'm 19-year-old villager... my dad and his business crew will be at the meeting... my mom passed away 9 1/2 years ago..." She thought of everything she could that she could say.

Sogekihei's eyes lit up in surprise. Destination? The laid back, care free, quiet guy she knew oh so well... Oh, wait. Right. She'd known him for a day. She wanted to hear more, nevertheless.

"My Clan was wiped out. It was a suicidal attack and the ninja died too. I never discovered who did it... but, oddly, it didn't hurt that much. I never really belonged with my clan. The loyalty and the equal treatment and the overall formality. I was taken back to Konoha and they put me in the ANBU Division Root. But it didn't work out, I was too much of a free spirit, and hence I didn't belong there. So I went back to being an ANBU and trained my way to Captain, but, as you can tell, I don't really belong in the ANBU either... I don't belong in a world of complications, which is what this world is. So I don't belong anywhere. Y'know, I just... exist. I haven't had as sad of a past as many like you, who had those ties and belonged somewhere... I was born into not really belonging, no matter how much I try. I'm my own and my own only... and I've gotten used to knowing that."

Akari lounged around in the room, her mask still off. "Hey, Du-Destination." She muttered, fumbling with her captain's mask. "You know you can your mask off. Mai's a shy girl, I think it'd make her less nervous."
