Running from my Sins

I curled around him. "I won't leave you."

"You have to."

"I can't. I love you too much, Jonathan."

"Liz! Leave!"

"I can't! You don't understand."

"I understand that if you don't leave, I'll have to shoot you."

I looked at him levelly. "I'd rather do that than leave you.

He pulled out his gun.

I didn't move. I felt like stone.

He aimed at her.

I still didn't move. My eyes held no emotion, but thoughts were whirling in my head.

Ty dived in front of her as Jonathan shot.

I watched, frozen for a second, then the rest I couldn't control. My eyes were blazing as I snarled, stepped over Ty, and my outline burst into flames as I snarled.

The bullet hit Ty.

I raced towards Jay without second thought and bit into him with flame licking at his shoulder.

Jay winced and shot her three times.

The flames caught two of the three and the other one went into my shoulder. I didn't even move though, only bit harder. Then suddenly I realeased and blacked out.

The pain hit Jonathan like nothing before. He screamed and collapsed, gripping his shoulder as tight as possible.

Flame had cowered in fear in the bushes as he watched the fight unroll before him. Autumn took a step towards the two and gripped the back of Jay's shirt in her teeth, hoisting him up and onto her back. She motioned for Ty to do the same for Liz and ran off in the direction of camp.

Autumn took him to the camp and lied him down, then searched for the herbs needed for treating wounds and burns.

Autumn watched over the two to make sure everything stayed fine.
