I gripped the handle of my luggage cart tightly as Lily bounced along behind me, chattering away to Mum about how much she was looking forward to Hogwarts, as she'd been doing all summer.

"Lily, shut up!" I snapped finally. "We get it, you're excited, but you're also driving me bonkers!"

I didn't turn around to see Mum's frown, but I could hear the disapproving tone in her voice. "James, apologize to your sister."

I remained stubbornly silent as we approached the barrier between Platforms Nine and Ten.

...Right?

I giggled, skipping around him. "James, you were even more excited on your first day! Besides, you're not the boss of me!" I giggled and then tripped, falling flat on my face but getting up to keep skipping. "Haha! Where's Rose and Hugo?" I asked, walking backwards and leaning causually against the barrier until I fell through. "I hope I'm in Griffindor! Just like everyone else!" Dad smiled. "Even if you're not, Lily, you'll be fine. Ravenclaw's a stunning house, and you're smart ebough to get in." I smiled. "But I'm getting into Griffindor!" I squealed.

I didn't bother to dignify that with a response. I shoved my cart angrily through the barrier, not even bothering to be discreet about it as I followed it through. I looked for my friends, squinting through the smoke. I didn't want to be around my family any longer than I had to.
