Love, In a Word

Love, in a word, could be nice.
It could be mysterious; you could call it a price.
There are so, so many possibilities,
If God forbid, and forbid it please,
I’d have to choose one, I wouldn’t know where to start.
I think it’s something that comes from the heart,
Impossible to describe, yet it’s such a simple thing,
It smells like a rose, but feels like a sting.
It looks like blood, and tastes sweet,
And it sounds like the continuous rhythm of my heartbeat.
The five senses describe it all,
But under what category would it fall?
It can be bitter, can also be sweet,
It can feel soft, or it can feel hard,
It can be a huge mess, or it can be neat,
It can be polite, or stern like a guard,
It can be nice, or it can be rude,
It can be one, or it can be two,
When you’re not looking, it can sneak up on you.
It’s the beautiful singing of a bird,
But out of all of these,
